Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals for a desktop computer?

My wife wants to purchase a new desktop (mainly for designing and photography). Are there any deals going on that could help us save a little?

Also, what is the best desktop to buy (brand is irrelevant)? Only caveat is my wife doesn't want to get a Mac. But I'm not sure how Macs compare by price or performance.
