Is it discussed somewhere in this huge ass thread that Old Navy is offering "FREE" Lego Rock Band with $20 worth of clothing attire and if you purchase Rock Band 2 you also get a free guitar "extremely limited supplies"? Some info I have found says it's only the DEMO which would be really stupid unless it's a demo with the 45 songs on it. Some say it's real, does anyone really know?

I saw it (LRB free with $20 purchase) as one of the features on XBL this morning, so it appears to be real. I didn't see anything about it being a demo, and I didn't see anything about getting a free guitar with RB2 purchase.

Personally I think the "extremely limited" wording makes this worthless unless you plan to brave Old Navy that morning anyway.
 
So I'm reading this right, Left 4 Dead 2 can be had from the best buy website on thanksgiving? This was one of the few things on my to get list

Last year at amazon there was some silly glitch on the xbox 360 systems, instead of getting an xbox 360 elite for $400 with free halo 3($60 game at the time) it would ring up @ $340, not just subtracting $60 for the free game, but another $60.

Same thing with the arcade bunble, came with a free dance pad($60 pad) free, but instead it took off an addtional $60, so $140 xbox arcade+dance pad.

Amazon actually came through and honored all of the prices- and people seem to expect this every year now.(i think this was last year, may have been the year before- come to think of it, it may have been 2007)

I sat there hitting refresh like an idiot for the ps2 system deal and missed the xbox flukes but the point is, people come to expect free crap on BF.

Very interesting... i also wonder how limited is limited... i doubt the first place i want to go on B.Friday is old Navy though it would make my gf happy...
 
no OLD Navy for me... thought it was rock band for any system.. its just for ps3 wii and 360... no ds verison...

though i probally could swap it out.. not worth the hassle..

It has been discussed in the thread before. Some people are saying it is a demo but there is no proof of that so far. I work there and I'm 99.9% sure it will be the full game. Here are the reasons why I think it will be the full game.
1) Old Navy has no problems giving stuff away. Last BF we gave out $50 MP3 players and another time we gave out a 4 pack of movie passes. Plus we are teaming up with Rock Band and/or EA for promos so the cost of these are probably less than it is for a retailer that would sell them.
2) There is an extremely limited amount available. My store is about 20 copies. If it was just a demo we would have hundreds of them and it would probably be free with any purchase.
3) There is no mention of demo in any memos I've seen and we are told to keep them locked up until BF. If it was just 20 copies of a demo they wouldn't care so much.

Until I see the game with DEMO written across it I'm saying its the full game.

100% agree. It is the full game they mention no where on that goobblepalooza website that it's a demo. They are going to demo the Rock band game all weekend long in their stores. I think people are getting this instore game demo mixed up with the free item give away.

I suspect it's less then 20 copies for each version for each store. Extremly limited is the key here

If it is a doorbuster deal, so long as you return it and rebuy during the time you might be ok. If it is a two day deal, you might be ok.

At worst you could buy it now, then go buy a $25 and just return that one with the full price receipt.
 
It may be in here, but this thread has 98 pages, I can't search everyone, but does anyone have a feel for how the PS3 bundles will hold up at Gamestop or Best Buy?

I really want a PS3 with Little Big Planet, will Gamestops have a lot of them? Is getting there at 6 (or perferably later) good enough, or do I have to get out there earlier?
 
I'm not sure if this is posted or not, but Wal-Mart saying the PS3 bundles along with several items will be available in store and online this Friday.

I'm looking at a washer + dryer combo for like $1200 and am worried it'll be gone by 6 and it isn't even a doorbuster. The ps3 is a doorbuster, and despite having at least 21 at each store, they open at 5 so you are definitely chancing it by waiting until 6 or later.
 
for people who went to radio shack last year, how are the crowds? I need a new dual shock or 2 after i had the unfortunate accident of slamming one of mine on the ground and punching it repeatedly... accidently.
 
Got the Big Lots! ad, probably not news but I did notice a couple videogame deals not listed in the op. Namely Guitar Hero World Tour for DS $20, and various $5 PS2 games. Also GHIII and DDR X bundles for 15.88. Might be worth it for some.

By the way I've never had much issue getting black friday deals at Radioshack. If you show up when they open you will have no trouble getting any deals you are looking for. There might be 5-10 other people. I've shown up later in the morning and been the only one there and have seen that most deals were still available, but I wouldn't chance it if the dual shock tops your list. From the wording on the ad it almost sounds like the dual shock is $30 now.

I stopped by last year and there were about five people in the store - I guess by Radio Shack standards, that may qualify as a crowd.

I wish I could remember what website I read that on. But somebody said that those typically sell out within minutes of the door opening. I know that CNN Money or somebody ran and "article" on Sears having a deal like this on their website and didn't place limits on it and sold thousands of them in the hours it was online. it took them almost 3 months to catch up with the sales. even then they just sold the person a better unit for the same price.

So a friend of mine said his Gamestop got in 5 PS3 bundles for Black Friday and the games came inside the box. If this is true, has Gamestop done this before? And should I expect the games to be like the retail copies with a separate case and manual for each or will they be in some sort of sleeve or something.

Anyone's guess on the bundled games though each console that has come with a game has come with a full case, manual, etc. just no barcode or a not for resale marking on the barcode.

The PSP seems to be the only exception as to not including retail packaging

Seriously, unlike the big box stores, you never have to go on an expedition to find a salesperson, and they usually come to you - for better or for worse. However, the gaming sections at my local stores are getting to be nearly invisible...

I went about 2 min after opening and some one dude already came in and cleaned them out. Bullshit. But I pricematched at Walmart .

I'm actually going to Sears Appliance Center first (4am), because I want a fridge. I will probably grab a washer dryer set they have there that I like almost as much just to be safe, but I'm hoping I can be in and out of there in time to at least make it to best buy by doors opening to try and get the set I really want at Best Buy.

There's little to no chance of finding a PS3 controller at RadioShack, so don't bother getting up early for that. They had the same "deal" last year, and it was epically disappointing. No stock FTW.
 
I have yet to be overwhelmed by any of these amazon "deals". I would have gotten ACII (even though i hated the first game) but it wasn't at my price point. I hope they have a deal on borderlands. Anyone else feel the same?
 
Yes. Wal-mart charges tax online. I would say a good chance to do this doorbuster online. It's front and center for the ad. But then again the idea is to get you into a store to spend even more money.

So are there no real deals on Assassin's Creed II? I saw the one of a $10 off giftcard at Target, but I'm looking for actual price reduction. My friend said Best Buy is going to have AC2 for $35, but I don't see it listed on here, and I trust this site over him, lol.

I just went for the Tekken 6 limited edition bundle. I didnt have a fightstick so I think its good to get the game and a fightstick for 60 bucks. Can anyone help me out bcuz i want to know if I can use the fightstick on other games say like SFIV. I didn't want to lose out on the deal so I just bought it. Quick reply would be greatly appreciated so I can contemplate on whether or to cancel the order. TIA
