FYE is running a trade-in promotion where you get a bonus 20% on top of the 25% bonus for choosing credit when you pre-order select games. While the "official" list is pretty small, I was told that if you ask, they should be able to give you the bonus on ANY game you want to pre-order.

If you are wondering how much your cd's/games/movies get at FYE, a good place to check is www.secondspin.com . Their game TIV's are usually spot on, DVD's & CD's can vary between 10-25% between Secondspin's TIV and the actual FYE TIV.

No expiration dates given, but as some of the games this promo is advertising go to 2009, i'd imagine this will be a new policy FYE will be bringing in. Just a warning though, FYE can be very anal when it comes to trades. From what i've experienced, they all have to be complete with original case & manual. Depending on the store, your discs may need to be in pristine condition for them to accept.

anyone know the value for halo 3 and gears of war 1 if I trade them in for store credit & preorder? My local fye's say I have to to come in to get the store credit value :(

That's normally because at FYE stores, you get the 25% boost over what's typically on secondspin's TIV. As usual, there are a few exceptions.
 
well I went in and was told $8 and $7 for Halo 3 and Gears of War 1 tradein, but they weren't taking anymore copies haha, I just traded them in at gamestop toward gears of war 2 and got $40 credit

Yea, I found out about Legendary as well. It looks like its still $26.50 on Secondspin, so you can at least sell it there.

For whatever reason, Rock Band (Wii) was $21.60 rather than the $21.75 on SS. But at least thats better than the $17 difference Legendary had...
 
Ok, good I thought it was just that I went into Coconuts and got the $9/$11 quote for legendary..... Man they are on the ball
 
yea they were quick with legendary, but 360 brothers in arms hell's highway still fetched me $24, $30 after 25% bump. i was afraid that would drop as well seeing it on sale everywhere for $19.99. ill just take my copy of legendary to gamecrazy and pricematch blockbusters $36 tiv. just received my $18.75 check today for another copy of the soil cd lol.

Golden Compass (PS3) might be a good one if it's still $10 (->$7/$8.75 @ FYE). If it's dropped to $7, even better.

Also Rockstar Table Tennis (Wii) is a $10->$10/$12.50 from BBV->FYE
 
Thanks Jar. I think what im gonna do is look at Secondspin and sort by the highest sell values and backtrack from there.

I found out that Super Swing Golf Season 2 is $5 -> $10/$12.50 as well.

I went into Fye and damn their trade in values suck. I used to be able to go their and built up 400 worth of credit buying stuff from Gamestop. I tried GTA 4 for the 360 and they offered me 8.00 for it and they are selling it user for 49.99

it JUST dropped..and every blue moon you'll get your $4 --> $18.75 flip..unfortunately that specific flip has dropped to $3 TIV :(

The bad thing about their TIV system is that they are usually based on quantity throughout the whole chain. So if they get "too many" between FYE, Sam Goody, Wherehouse, their websites, etc. they will drop the TIV.

The $5 -> $18.75 flip held for a few years til people started trading it into Secondspin. Once Secondspin got 9 copies, they dropped it to $3 TIV.

Welp, the Trade 2 Wii games get $30 bonus has warranted some very nice flips. Basically, if you trade in 2 Wii games that get $3 or more (basically just about every game on sale with the Blockbuster B1G1) you get a $30 bonus on top of your TIV if you buy a select Wii game. I've found the following flips (values below are credit, subtract 25% for cash or add 20% for pre-order):

Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader: $0 -> $15.93
Allstar Cheer Squad: $10 -> $20
My Fitness Coach: $0 -> $15.93
Skate Heroes City: $-10 (they pay you $10 extra GS credit) -> ? (not listed on secondspin)

Basically on top of the values above you also get your credit at GS, so you can essentially turn $10 BB credit into $10+ GS credit and $16-20 FYE.
