broken 60gb ps3 on cl

Well some guy on cl is selling his AS-IS 60gb ps3 for $150. I know theres a shop close to me that fixes ps3's for $40 but I'm not too sure how well they do it. Is there any other way to fix it cause $150 even for a broken 60gb may be too good to pass up. Any suggestions?

Call Sony? If you want an official repair job might as well go to them. Even if they charge you a $100-150, you're still coming out ahead, especially with a 60 gb.

You could even just drop them an email and see if they do work like that.

sony will fix it for $150 and comes back (from what i hear) better than new... sounds like a sweet deal imo

if the guy opened it up to see what is inside then you may be SOL with sony.
