my ps2 slim's memory card 1 slot is broken. for some games, like many rpg's or what i mostly play, they ask for the memory card in slot one. is it possible to get around this? is this a known problem with an easy fix? the second slot works fine. do i have to bear down and buy a ps3 now (i'm not buying another ps2, but i wanna play my rpgs!)?

Sadly, the 'easiest' fix for this is to find a slim with working memory card slots, since I had a 50001 with a bad first card slot. Luckily, I had bought a 30001R for cheap and swapped out the ports.
It seems to be a common problem though, possibly caused by numerous card switches or some other similiar actions.
