I contacted Amazon through chat. I was a day one puirchaser of ICO through Amazon (and yes, I knew about the Best Buy promo, but shopping there gives me a headache. Long story).

I told her I still had my copy of ICO unopened, and I could return it, or if she'd honor the discount, I'd purchase God of War too. She gave me a $10 price drop and a $10 credit towards a future order (which won't last long around here!). She was very polite.
Wow, that would be great. Clearly I wasn't wrong in complaining if Amazon is going to hand out refunds and credit. Maybe I will try the chat option this time.
The collections end up being $30 each and there are two games in each of them for a total of four games for $60. 60/4 = $15, his math was correct.
Oh geez, we're counting the sub-games now? I tend to just count 1 per package in cases like this :p

lol thanks, that was reynolds last night freaking out after Longoria's walkoff homerun

You were still wrong, luckily Amazon does anything and everything to appease customers.

I really don't understand you people. Don't most of you take your receipts back to a store that does price adjustments if the price changes on an item a few days after you bought it? This is so similar.

What do you mean, 'you people'?

Man what an epic baseball night that was ! Red sox fans and the espnesn homers at ESPN were blaming the yankees saying that they were loosing against tampa on purpose lmao ! My yankees clinched homefield a week ago and are prepairing for the playoffs. They were doing what they had to do. Who is Your team ?

Feedback?

God of War Origins
Uncharted
ICO

I got all GoW games for PS3 already, played Uncharted II's demo but it wasn't "that" good IMO (but it had very good comments and such), never played ICO but it also has some very good comments.

I tried that with Amazon after I bought Duke Nukem Forever used for $19 and then Gamefly had it used for $10. It didn't work.

Now they have Duke Nukem Forever for $17.99(I paid $18.99), so that means I should complain to get my whole dollar back?

Sometimes it's just not worth it to complain since there may be a time when there's a major discrepancy or price difference and you really want that back, but they notice you have a track record of complaining about things so they tell you to fuck off.
Why isn't White Knight Chronicles 2 included in this...? It does fill the criteria of being a dual pack.
The games in this deal are all published by Sony.
Why isn't White Knight Chronicles 2 included in this...? It does fill the criteria of being a dual pack.
It isn't being marketed as a dual pack, though. The inclusion of the original WKC is an afterthought, not a selling point.
Otherwise it would be called White Knight Chronicles Collection, you know?

Already had SotC ordered day on since it was one of my 5% off daily deals, I asked CS to see if I could get the GoW:OC for $20 and they said I'd have to return everything to get it, but they're giving me $10 credit instead. I love amazon.

i'm really kicking myself over some many great deals to get ICO/SofC Collection but i pre-ordered this game from gamestop like last year when i thought it was coming out this spring.

Awesome, I really wanted SOTC/ICO & GOW Origins but didn't want to spend $60 + tax and the gas for the trip to Best Buy. I had plenty of credit to cover this at Amazon, so it was an instant buy. Thanks OP.

Glad Amazon matched this sale. Went to Best Buy yesterday and they were already out of the Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection.

Amazon really is awesome! I bought ICO/SOTC day one and they went ahead and honored this promotion. Honestly, this is why Amazon is so awesome. They have just great Customer Service!
Good value, but I am waiting for them to hit sub-$20 each.
quoted for truth my friend

thanks for this i was gonna swing by best buy on the way home and get this, but now i dont have to. I prefer not to shop there if i can avoid it.

Damn, seriously tempted by uncharted dual pack and gow collection, but i've already spent too much money. What are the chances of these games being discounted further in the future?

Further discount could be possible, but who knows when (?) What I'd say is that you might be able to get the same discount sometime in the next couple of months (Black Friday or Christmas?), just no idea if it would be a higher one.
What do you guys think about ICO and Uncharted?
Some of the best games of this generation and last generation.

Yes, absolutely if that's the store policy, and I encourage you to try the same from amazon even though they ended that policy a while ago. It seems like it has already worked for some people. Most stores do that so you won't hesitate to buy something waiting for a price drop.

What I was referring to as wrong is the mentality that you got "screwed" by amazon because you bought it on release for full price. You and the retailer agreed on a price when you bought it, and you enjoyed having it earlier than most other people. Just because they decided to drop the price to entice more buyers doesn't mean you got screwed.

Ordered Ico/Shadow & GoW Origins. GoW is listed as out of stock with no estimated ship date unfortunately - didn't see that until I'd placed the order.
You are only screwed if you didnt shop around or realize that games eventually have sales or drop in price - i.e. you are not a cheapass.
Trololo...Nicely stated.

maybe i'm in the minority here. But I don't understand why everyone's paying 30 bucks to play shadow of the colossus.

game was boring as hell for me. All you do is ride your horse following a beam of light for like 20 minutes until you finally reach the boss. Then you scale the boss and stab its weak point a few times. rinse/repeat.

the game barely has a story and there is almost no dialogue.

I think people are afraid to give that game a negative review for some reason.

From what I heard ICO is even more boring to play - one reviewer called it "one giant escort mission."

I can't see myself ever buying them.

Had purchased SotC day one from amazon, tried to just get a discount and buy the other game. They are telling me to return the game and just order again. Wished he would have done like one of the posts earlier and game me some credit or something. but meh I'll take it.

My biggest problem is that I want 3 of the 4 packs.

I want the GoW games for the PS3 - I want to play Ico/Shadow because I have never played them before and I have never played the Resistance series.

I have both Uncharted's.

Maybe I should just pick up Resistance 1/2 used from Gamestop or soemthing which probably should be cheaper than this boxed set.
I think people are afraid to give that game a negative review for some reason.
... Because they ENJOY the game? Everyone's got different tastes afterall, technically all games are about pushing buttons and sticks (or touching the screen/waving your device around/pretending to be a mime) in order to generate visuals and sound, but we're all into the hobby.

Yeah, I'd do that or wait for another deal because the Ico collection's definitely worth it, and the GoW one probably is. Doesn't help a lot of people didn't like R2 much, and part of R1's appeal was being a really good launch title, a point that doesn't really matter as much now.

I actually played both Ico and SOTC back on the PS2 and I turned Ico off after the first half hour. It was so frickin' boring dragging that seemingly helpless chick along with you everywhere. But I had a blast playing SOTC, albeit it IS exactly as you said. You follow the beam of light to the colossi, stab the weak spots(which are glowing and thus clearly defined for you:roll:), rinse and repeat till done. There are some lil lizards or something scurrying around in the sand/dirt in the vast expanses between the monsters you kill that you can kill as well, but I believe that SOTC(and Ico) are both supposed to be 'showcase' games where you play for the experience and to go oohhhh and ahhhh at the purdy environments.

FYI: I'm pretty sure that copy of Uncharted 2 in the two pack is the GOTY edition and that comes with a voucher for mp shit/DLC stuff that you could likely resell to make this deal a lil sweeter/cheaper.

I think it is pretty obvious that I wasn't using the word "screwed" to describe a literal failure on Amazon's part to fully complete the transaction and follow through on their own policies. If something like that happened, I wouldn't be on a forum expressing frustration, I would be on the phone contacting the BBB. The fact that I even have to explain this feels silly.

And to the handful of people questioning my shopping skills, most Amazon regulars know that if Best Buy is the store offering the best deal for a new release, Amazon will usually match it very early during release week so that customers who pre-ordered will also get the deal. This frequently results in a very good deal because you can stack so many potential promotions and/or discounts. For some reason, this week they waited until Thursday to match, which resulted in people not automatically getting the deal, although many have had success after contacting Amazon about this. And it is those customers who probably got the best deal out of anyone on the Team Ico collection this week. So there.

I think gamers en masse have become conditioned to expect games that encourage them to exert dominion over their virtual environment and advance straightforwardly by means of violence and killing.

In 2001, I reached a point at which I was searching for something more than that. I'm not pretentiously saying something better, just something different. I simply believed that the medium had potential to expand beyond what had been established and accepted, to offer alternative experiences. In some ways, I guess I was looking for a game that wasn't made explicitly for gamers. ICO fit the bill. It was slow in its pacing, simple in its game mechanics, and obscure in its storytelling. Plus it forced you to play the role of escort through the entirety of the game. ICO ran counter to everything conventional wisdom says a game ought to be. Yet it resonated with me emotionally in a way that few other games have.

And if you don't like ICO, that's fine. I don't think it has to be understood or liked by a specific percentage of the population in order for its aspirations to be legitimized. I don't expect everybody to love Ingmar Bergman films; it's totally okay to just want to watch Steven Spielberg films. Similarly, it's okay to not like ICO and prefer Madden. That doesn't make you any less of a gamer.

The video game medium can be so much more inclusive than we seem to allow it. For those of you who don't like ICO, I implore you to consider that it simply represents a type of game that does not (and I argue should not) fit your expectations. For those of you who can't understand how someone could not like ICO, recognize that not everyone wants the kind of experience that game offers.

That's not to say I won't try anyway: I'm buying the ICO/SotC collection as a Xmas present for every PS3 owner I know.

Reading the ICO comments (I get bored easily of games, and it seems that ICO and the other game that comes in the pack are not really an action-type genre, more like adventure), I guess I'll just hold and wait for Black Friday or some other day to get Uncharted, maaybe sometime GoW pack as well.

Ive never played either team ico game before so i cant wait to play them both as they seem like a great experience !. I bet those people complaining about ico being one giant escort mission loved resident evil 4.

Really tempted to pick up the GoW bundle and the Ico/SotC bundle ... I will try to wait until they drop a little closer to $20 each though. Pretty good deal all around though!

I HATE escort missions of any kind, yet LOVED Ico when it came out. Having said that I was much younger and had more time to play games. Now I like to breeze through games more and not have to think as much. I still bought this collection as I loved the games and will try them out again, but even I am getting worried I may be bored with them now. Its just all about perspective and where we are in our "gaming career" if you will.

IMHO Shadow of The Colossus is one of the best games of the last gen.

Yes, they split the -$20 so you get -$10 deducted from each item when it ships.
