GameTrailers - 9.1/10
It's one of the best looking and most unique shooters out this year. The survival horror and scavenging elements bleed into the first-person shooter gameplay in clever ways, meshing with an incredible atmosphere that really sticks with you. It's a world you won't soon forget.

OPM - 9/10
Despite these issues there are individual parts of Metro: Last Light that are easily the equal of Bioshock infinite, and sections that are better than COD. Scattered throughout the gameplay are beats as exciting and memorable as any top-tier shooter you care to mention. It plays like a first-person Silent Hill at times, and at others a version of Fallout made by Michael Haneke. True, the plot’s nonsense – but moment to moment this is a first-rate shooter that manages to do something refreshing with the template.

it's difficult not to recommend the game to shooter enthusiasts looking for something with a little more imagination than the likes of Call of Duty and Battlefield offer in their solo campaigns.

My resell spot is open for Metro LL. I can host of the group wants but I will still me paying $15 toward the group so the final cost is $45 the group can decide how to split the cost.

Hype died when THQ went under. Getting better reviews on other sites.
 
Metro 2033 wasn't perfect. I imagine Last Light has it's own charm and will be appreciated by those who give it a chance. I wouldn't expect it to review like CoD and Bioshock.

I'm dropping. Originally, the $10 for the resell enticed me but after seeing the reviews I'll pass. The IGN review was on PS3 while Gamespot was on PC so the score difference is understandable. The scores didn't sway my decision but the details of the review (IGN's) did. Glitches and freezes? No sir, after Assassin's Glitch 3 my tolerance for such things has dropped drastically.

I ended up getting a copy for PC for $27 so I get to play it on my platform of choice and that was only $7 over my buy price. I felt bad for leaving the group that is why I am still discounting it even still and my discount is better than the PS+ deal as well.

Hell yeah, dude. I've been playing it every chance I get. I've beat it twice and am only one sidequest from getting the platinum. If Capcom is smart, they'll drag this one out for a while (as if they weren't already planning to lol).

This does not deter me. Hell I enjoyed Aliens and that had a shit A.I. but then again I am renting the game for $1 so I'm not losing much.

I can't take reviews seriously, to me they're just a barometer of how much a company has shilled to get it's product recognized

Most of the time the review scores are a little too high and you can see by the title being the splash ad page on the site that does the review

For me it's, Trophies > Better have Platinum > Do I want to play it > Interest % > MP or no MP
Reviews don't even appear on my gaming spectrum

If you don't find reviews useful or don't want to use them that's your call, but questioning the validity of an opinion you don't agree with makes you sound like a baby.

Shouldn't there be some section of cag where ps+ trials are sold or traded? If so, just obtain one. No way it's going to cost anything near the 20% discount.

You guys should at least read the reviews for games in general. The score is one thing and will vary depending on who is reviewing it obviously but any facts they state such as glitches, graphical problems, rough estimate of play time, etc. can be helpful in determining whether to pick the game up or not.

I would miss on too many good games doing it your way and I still play a lot of my old PS/PS2 games.

Yeah, I don't look at scores either. I see what they liked and didn't like, and compare that with what I like and don't like in games (ie: is there lots of grinding, is it unforgiving, does the camera suck?). That's why when I review a game, I don't give scores. There's no unification of any of those, so the scale can be all over the place. A buddy and I joked one time of giving scores like "on a scale of 1 to table, I give it an airplane", just to take the piss out of them. :lol:
