CAGbag: Get your questions answered on CAGcast

Put in a good 8 hours of The Division Beta, but quit and deleted data/savess after entering the "dark zone".  EVERY player I came across tried to kill me.  This is why I don't play "social games"; if people are playing like this when it doesn't matter, how will the real launch be?

Any thoughts on Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt punch seeking crowd funding on Fig? Do you think there are enough Kevin Smith Fans to reach their $400,000 goal and when are we going to see a cagcast game starring you three?

Is the fact that there's not going to be a new Disney Infinity game coming out this year news worthy? It seemed like a "well duh" prediction based on the shelves and shelves of infinity figures that aren't going anywhere, even when they are on clearance. I'm not saying the games are crap, just that no one wants what Disney has been pushing for what seems like a long time. To be fair, I don't see a future for a Lego Dimensions 2 either, should we be shocked when that doesn't happen?

So when Pokemon comes out this fall will the crew praise that game's split release when it's just 1 dungeon & a few Pokemon difference while Fire Emblem is 2-3 fully distinct games with different campaigns, character interactions, & gameplay design?

Dear Cheapy and Wombat,

As basically the only Jewish people I know, can you guys explain to me Yeshiva week?  I recently booked a cruise out of NYC for 2017 and reading about cruises that happened in the same period of 2016, late January, everyone is afraid of booking their vacation during Yeshiva week as it consists of 100s of Jewish families taking over the ships and pretty much running rampant.  The groups have been banned off of several cruise lines already, according to the posts, and now have made their home on the one we usually vacation on.  As I have no idea what this is all about can you guys let us know when this Jewish party week normally happens and is there a way to tell in advance when it falls during the years to come as I cannot find it on any calendars.

(proof that I am not just making this up: https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=yeshiva+week+cruise+site:boards.cruisecritic.com)

Since this will never make it to the show, I'll answer it here. Yeshiva week Jews would be Orthodox Jews. Cheapy & I are reformed Jews. It is basically two different religions, so sadly we are no help with this.

I asked this in the previous show comments but maybe it should go here.

Did shipwreck ever setup the LED lights that light a different color specific to each console when in use? I'm asking because the Xbox one and 360 always have power to their USB ports even when off so light strips connected by USB would stay on. The PS4 and PS3 power down so they work fine. It would be much cooler if the lights were triggered by USB when a console was powered on rather than manually using a remote control.

Cheapy can you please tell us your good story from just before you moved back to New York? It's been a long time now and I've been very curious about it since you first teased it. Thanks for all the great episodes, keep up the great work guys.

I second this. I think he might've said he needed Mrs. Cheapy's approval though... or maybe that was a different story.

I very surprised all three of you don't see VR as the future of gaming. I bet two thirds of you will have Sony VR headsets by Christmas. There's a couple really cool games for VR coming out by the end of the year. Robinson: The Journey, Final Fantasy XIV, Rigs:Mechanized Combat League, London Heist: Getaway, Elite Dangerous, Assetto Corsa (racing game), Eve: Vallyrie, Star Wars: Battlefront, Adr1ft, Rez Infinite, and my Favorite Eagle Flight to name a few.

VR is the next IPhone that everyone will have and I can't wait for you guys to all say at the same time. "We were very wrong about VR not being a big deal for gaming".  I think people are ready for something new and different. This is the step in that direction we have all been waiting for.

In last week's episode you talked about how the Xbox One would be a base system and subsequent revisions would offer better graphics and tech gains. I'm sure you guys read about the PS4.5 stuff. Should we really consider this shocking news if each new shipment of a console might have some under the hood improvements, especially if new PS4s now use less power than launch consoles?

I know that shipwreck married his high school sweetheart but how did you guys ( CheapyD and Wombat) meet your wives?

Why don't you give Shipwreck a nickname each week? You introduce Wombat with some funny nickname, then say "and Shipwreck is here."

I see that Cheapy has been buying lots of Disney Infinity characters again. Do you still use them in the game?

I feel like most of the characters do not add anything to the gameplay. Especially if they are not connected to a playset. Yes, you can buy Donald Duck. . . but why?  It's not like he opens up a new area in the Toy Box.

Lego Dimensions gets it right. . .For instance. . . if you want to get access to the Wizard of Oz world, you buy the Wicked Witch. You can also use the Wicked Witch in any of the open worlds or missions that you have access to.

Is CAG responsible for the CAG16 coupon code for GameStop?  I've seen this coupon code being discussed over a number of gaming forums, Reddit, etc., and most people don't know where the code came from.

What happened to to these segments you guys used to do?:

Cheapy Made me buy it

They were great! Bring some of them back please

You mentioned that your PS4 is getting loud. What about your Xbox One? I haven't jumped into the current gen yet, and my 360 sounds like a space shuttle blasting off. I was hoping that the new gen of consoles would not have this problem.

Would any of you guys wear this Pac man suit?

Read this bitches: The Caped Crusade: Batman and the Rise of Nerd Culture

I think this would be a great book for Wombat to read as he is a bigger comic book geek than Shipwreck, plus he's more open to learning something. I heard about this book on this week's NPR Bullseye and the author Glen Weldon's discussion with the host made me think about my favorite comic characters a bit more. I mean everyone knows the Hulk is a Hyde creature of pure emotion, but I never did see the Thing as a manifestation of shame like in Inside Out. How do you feel that your parent's Batman is much different than your own, BUT your Batman (starting from Neal Adams or Frank Miller) will remain the standard for superheroes for three decades already?

Show feedback:

I've been listening to the show since early 2010 and that was one of the funniest episdodes I've ever heard.  From Shipwreck's Savannah adventures to Mrs. Cheapy scaring the shit out of Cheapy through the window, I was on the floor of my car laughing through my entire commute.  Thanks for making my drive a hell of a lot better for the past 6 years.

Wombat, are you excited with how Agents of SHIELD will pay lip service to Captain America 3? Or because of how crazy the current season is going it doesn't matter? What are your criticisms of the show so far? I think the current plotline beats what would've been the obvious choice last year, creating an Inhuman of the Week arc.

I do not think we'll ever see an Inhumans movie at this rate.

Wombat/Shipwreck. . . have you read the Kamala Khan Ms. Marvel?   I started reading it when I found out she was from Jersey City (I lived there for 10 years).  I think it's fantastic. I read everything that is available (25 issues) last week.

I passed along all of my copies to my 8 year old daughter and she likes it as well. So it might be a cool thing for your daughter to read at some point too.

In the past when you guys have gone to E3 what do Ship and Wombat do while Cheapy is blazin' it up? They obviously don't join in.

Also the show needs some more Girl Talk - its been ages. Please for intro / outro sometime soon.

Was curious why cheapy stopped combining the weekly ads into one thread? They always had great organization and would offer links to each deal.

I couldn't help noticing that several recent ads littering the margins on my preferred adult website are now prominently featuring the character Juliet Starling, of Lollipop Chainsaw. There is no ambiguity; it is 100% repurposed assets from that game's character model, doing things I'm pretty sure I'd remember if they were in a cutscene in that game.

I'm just saying that it's a disappointingly obvious choice, legality aside. Where's my Waluigi porn?

I've noticed recently that there are a lot of newly released Vita games.  Most look like Japanese translated imports, which is fine considering they actually look good.  But for a dead system, the Vita looks still very much alive.  Have any of you bothered to resurrect your Vita and play any of the new games?

I was curious to know if you guys are excited for anything this E3 since it's starting to sound like it might be more bare bones than previous years.

Hey Cheapy, Wombat, and Shipwreck,

Do you guys think you could ever do a whole episode of the CAGcast without any snark? One thing I've noticed about a few of the podcasts I follow is that the hosts are more focused on getting their snarky jokes in response to every topic rather than genuine opinions that makes them less interesting to listen to since the internet is has far too much of that stuff as it is, so I was curious if you've ever thought about that aspect of the way you approach the show? If muting Wombat for the vast majority of the show would solve most of the problems, that would be a suitable substitute. Thanks!

With the Blood and Wine expansion pack recently released, will any of you guys go back to playing the Witcher 3 again?

How much shittier do you think future games will run on our currently owned systems (XB1/PS4) compared to The Neo/Scorpion?

Do you think companies like Microsoft and Sony are going to allow a game to release that dips in frame rate on one version of a gaming system and works fine on another?

ALSO, how will this effect competitive online play? Will everyone who doesn't upgrade their current systems be at a disadvantage?

Thanks, and welcome back from E3.

New listener to the podcast so not sure if you've touched on this in the past, but what is the groups' opinion on all the Remakes/Remasters/Definitive Editions this gen?

Is the current gen being flooded with too many of these? Are they a bad thing? Good thing?

What's one game that you would like to see remastered but you know would never happen?

Cheers!

CheapyD,

Now that you have a decent amount of time with both console and PC versions of Overwatch, outside of your physical comfort (wrists/hands), which version do you like better and how are they different fun wise?

I currently have the PC version and I'm considering double-dipping with the PS4.

Shipwreck:

Whenever I hear you talk about your multi console scart gaming set up, I usually wonder how much disappointment you encounter when returning to retro games.  By way of example, I look back on turbografx games such as Military Madness, Legendary Axe, Champions Forever Boxing, Andra Panza Kick Boxing and Sonic Spike with a level of joy that I often think would be crushed if I returned to them now (excepting military madness which I enjoyed on IOS).  Do you regularly find yourself being disappointed by older games or do the games continue to be as fun for you as newer games?

Cheapy and Wombat are invited to comment on this as well.

Thanks to all.
