Peacock has quietly become one of my family's favorite streaming service.  

Dr. Death: It's an 8 episode series based on a true story about a spinal surgeon in Dallas circa 2012 who maimed and/or killed nearly 3 dozen patients.  Joshua Jackson is perfect in the title role with Alec Baldwin, Christian Slater (also amazing) and Kelsey Grammer filling out the supporting cast.  There's also a four episode companion docu-series with interviews with the real doctors, patients & friends.  

Joe Montana: Cool Under Pressure: a six episode docu-series, however only five episodes have been released thus far.  This one is pretty self explanatory, the history of one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game.

Resident Alien: Alan Tudyk plays an alien hiding amongst humans pretending to be a doctor in a small town while he looks for parts from his crashed ship so he can leave.  Tudyk is hilarious as always.

Mr. Mercedes: three season series based on the trilogy by Stephen King.  Brendan Gleason plays a retired detective still  trying to solve the last case he worked before retiring.  It's dark and twisted, and the novels are some of King's best of the last decade.  Season one (based on book 1) is amazing.  Season 2 (based on book 3) isn't quite as good but still solid.  Season 3 (based on book 2) has a solid beginning... but I haven't finished yet.

Bel Air: A dramatic remake of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.  The trailer is solid, but I haven't watched the show yet.

My family just finished running through all of Brooklyn 99, Modern Family, Parks & Rec and Superstore on there.  Yellowstone gets rave reviews, although I've never watched it.  All of Psych and the newer movies are a solid watch as well.  

They've also corralled plenty of classics which are good to put on when you want to watch something familiar like Cheers, Frasier, the Office, House, & Law & Order.

And as far as the whole MS/Activision thing goes, I think you guys are thinking too small.  So MS spends $80b (between both acquisitions)  to cater to the same 50 million people that already buy their system?  Sure they're rope in millions more for these exclusives but that still seems short sighted.  I think the ultimate play  is for Game Pass to be their bread and butter across all platforms.  They don't make money on consoles.  They make money on subscriptions and games.   Why limit your pool of players to the same 50 million that already buy your stuff when you can also gain access to the 100m Sony gamers and the 100m Nintendo gamers?   It's also not a fanboy thing.  All my friends are hardcore Xbox fans and they too think that's where the MS and Xbox brand is headed.  

Another thing to consider, will some of those big budget games like CoD still get the same budgets if they're catering to half the player base? 

All around I just think this is bad for gamers in the long run.

With the low price of the Series S, I don’t think Microsoft needs to put Gamepass on PS5 or Switch. It’s a low entry point to spend $300 to have access to Activision, Bethesda and everything else that will be exclusive to Xbox. Also, why would Sony want Gamepass on PS5? That means less revenue from game sales for them. Sony would want to take the hit on selling hardware and then make no money on software when people just give that money to Xbox for Gamepass? That makes no sense.

I think the strategy is Xbox is the console with Gamepass or you can play on your PC, your Phone, your handheld PC device or I could see some TVs including built in streaming in the future. I just don’t see any reason why Microsoft would care about selling more PS5 or Switch by adding Gamepass to them.

Have you guys seen all 3 seasons of After Life on Netflix? I haven’t laughed or cried (I rarely cry during a show) during a show recently as much as that one, really a good watch.

It was painful to listen to, like a conspiracy theory from a Joe Rogan podcast. Maybe it was a bit?

But Ship has experienced a lifetime of suffering as a Bengals fan. You don’t need to piss on his parade, even as joke, now that they are finally winning playoff games.

Half a bit, Football is definitely fixed, but I exaggerated the extent.

 
The latest episode of Boba Fett shows Amy Sedaris basically building a carseat for Grogu and without seeing the episode, Shipwreck predicts that it is going to happen. Give that man a raise.

 
First, I disagree with Wombat about 90% of the time, but I still love him (and he's definitely not an idiot).  We don't have to despise people we disagree with.

As for NFTs, I'm an attorney and compliance expert specializing in financial fraud and money laundering in the payments and FinTech industry.

For what it's worth, I'm excited about the potential of NFTs in general (and in the gaming space specifically), but at the same time I understand the problems and potential pitfalls of the technology (which Wombat and Cheapy point out on the show).  In general, I find the pro-NFT crowd to be far too idealistic and the anti-NFT crowd to be far too apocalyptic when discussing impact of NFTs in gaming.

I want to know more about how football is fixed. I get Organized Crime, but that is like saying the Illuminate. One organization is real and the other isn't, but what is the mechanism that OC is using? These players work their whole lives to get to this level along with the coaches. They are going to lose a game bc of some mobsters? One of the broadcasters this weekend mentioned these games are getting more competitive bc of the level of protection the QBs have now with the rule changes. I think this is a more logical explanation for 4 close games on one weekend than some vague notion of the games are fixed. Can you tell conspiracy thinking really bothers me? :)

Organized crime would be much more likely to be fixing games in a less popular, less wealthy league than in the NFL.

Aaron Rodgers is on a 4 year, $134 million contract, so I don't think he lost yet another home playoff game because the mob paid him off. He's just a choker, as well as being a liar and a dickhead.

I think you are giving to much credit to the intelligence of the corrupt. It would take an army of hushed individuals to fix something as big as the NFL.

No need to feel defeated, its always good to be skeptical of stuff. It's always possible there is corruption in things. I mean look at the Raiders head coach, he got outed for those emails but I find it hard to believe that he was the only one guilty of sending emails like that. It seems like he got pushed out and some other people in the NFL should have probably gone with him. I wouldn't doubt a lot of corruption in the NFL behind closed doors. I guess just as a Vegas dweller, I like to think that the gambling industry has some safe guards to at least make sure its not rigged as far as who wins and loses games. If that was ever proven I don't think the NFL would last much longer. I just feel like some of the retired players would have spilled the beans by now if they had been pushed to throw a game at some point.

 
No Cheapy.  You do NOT want to check out that Disney Galactic Cruiser.  The average cost is 5k for 2 nights.  Last month, Disney put out a promo that was so embarrassingly bad, they had to pull it from the internet.  It looked cheesy, cheap, and it didn't look anything like Star Wars.  Before the vid, Disney had this thing booked solid for the first 3 months.  After the vid, half of the reservations have since cancelled.

This is definitely not for someone that dislikes Star Wars as much as you.  It's barely passable for people that actually like Star Wars.

I'm glad everyone else called Wombat out for his ridiculous conspiracy theories about the NFL. I'm not opposed to a healthy amount of skepticism, but when he started talking about coaches purposefully changing play calls to affect player prop bets... come on. I don't think it's insane to think some referees are betting on games and maybe making some calls for their own benefit. It happened in the NBA with Tim Donaghy. But to go from that to the entire league is in on it is some serious tin foil hat shit.

If it's fixed why make the teams in the largest market bad but push small places like Green Bay and Kansas City? If the goal was to get New York to bet then the fix would be to have Jets and Giants competitive enough to drive up local interest to bet on them.

Congrats Shipwreck on your Bengals going to the Super Bowl. It pains me as a Ravens fan but I am truly happy for you after all suffering you've had to put up with since the legendary Paul Brown passed away.

That would be true for TV ratings, but the opposite might be true for gambling. The goal is to get sports bettors to be based on the spreads and props, not with thier emotions. From a conspiracy theory POV, smaller markets/ fanbases mean more influence on behavior in larger markets.
