The Art of Gyakuten Saiban, or for those whose tongues are prone to being tied...
THE PHOENIX WRIGHT ARTBOOK!
[/QUOTE]
Oh man, I've gotta get me one of those...
I went a little crazy with the toys this month. Lots of Sega crane machine figures and Square Enix Play Arts:
Sega Evangelion figures. The first set is a rerelease; I hunted down the originals for years. Got them at Play-Asia for a decent price. The second set is now out of print, but the price wasn't
too bad:
A third set of Sega Evangelion figures with a JRPG theme. Also, a complete set of Dragon Quest VIII Play Arts. Yangus looks like he's discolored some (a common problem with certain Play-Arts), and Jessica looks like she might have some discoloration as well (to a lesser extent), but they look fine overall, and the price was right (about $40 for the lot, before shipping):
Those Selphie and Kadaj Play Arts I mentioned a long time ago on this thread, but never posted pics of. You can't really see it in this pic, but Selphie has some discoloration problems herself:
Tifa and Aeris Play Arts. The Tifa one is awesome - she looks
just like the original character design! Aeris looks like she has this flat expression on her face... meh; I'm more of an Aeris fan than a Tifa one, so that's something of a letdown. Didn't get Cloud because I'm holding out for the Hardy Daytona set, so the girls'll have to fight over Advent Children Cloud in the meantime :
Monsieur Bome Collection Vol. 8 - K0S-MOS from Xenosaga. Didn't like this game, but the character designs are nice. I wanted to get this one while visiting San Francisco over a year ago (that city's an import toy mecca), but I wouldn't have had room in my luggage. Fortunately, it seems she hasn't accumulated in price (yet?); I paid the original SRP:
Oh, and I also bought a pile of Final Fantasy VII doujinshi. The pages are faded on some of them (no surprise... some of the books are 9-10 years old), but many of them are by an artist who's a favorite with collectors, plus they were cheap (after shipping, they came to less than $10 each)!
One of the doujinshi: a beautiful FFVII/FFT crossover with Cloud and Aeris. Knew I was never going to find this book again, so I got it:
Other than those and that copy of DQM: Joker that I (also) mentioned earlier, that's all for this month... so far. I have a set of Monster Hunter figures on the way from Japan, but they probably won't get here until sometime in February.
