California Budget Battle

CAGiversary!
The state of California continues to get closer sinking into the ocean as its budget battle continues.

To break down the complicated situation the current Governor Jerry Brown wants to make major cuts in California's budget. He also wants the voters to vote yes on keeping a higher sales tax of 8.25% (higher in local areas up to 10.75%, the highest in the nation), Vehicle Registration Fee (California on average is the second most expensive state on average to drive in and only Hawaii is higher), and a few other taxes.

At the moment the Governor needs 2 republicans from the house and senate to allow the budget to pass through and have the people to vote for another 5 years of higher taxes. Republicans are holding out tell a better budget is made.

The polls show that the majority of people in Los Angeles County and San Francisco County supporting higher taxes with the rest of California showing no interest in higher taxes. The reason for supporting higher taxes would keep Jerry Brown from cutting K-12 classes.
