I didn't include the PS3 version of COD4 because it's $5 more than the 360 version, and it's a broken piece of crap now. I just bought the 360 version to replace my PS3 version.

I may re-buy W@W. It's been a long time, and I've skipped MW3 to give myself a CoD break. I'm starting to itch for that series again, though.

I'm assuming the community is still active in these older games. Anyone know if that's accurate?

The community is still active, but the multiplayer for both games have been hacked. It's nearly impossible to find a game without people flying or being invincible.
 
well the single player is supposed to be pretty good too right? they still had Single player back then ehh?

for $10 I would really consider COD4.. but for $15 I think I'll pass.. I don't have a 360.

You can't even play the single player campaign or even the MENU in COD4 on the PS3 if you're connected to the internet.

Youtube "COD4 Confirm screen" to see what I'm talking about.

The only way you can play is to disconnect the PS3 from the internet start the game, than reconnect the internet. Signing out of the PSN won't work either.
 
I haven't enjoyed a CoD single player campaign enough to play through it since CoD 2. They're fine, just not my thing anymore. I bought W@W to play online and revisit some of my favorite maps, and it's an absolute zoo. The modders have ruined what was one of my favorite online games.

I'm surprised the hackers are still playing CoD4 though. i mean you'd think the game is so old noone would be bothering to grief us.
 
That's why I bought the 360 version. The PS3 version DOES have a workaround, but most people won't be bothered to do it, so I figure the online community will be a lot more active on the 360... And it is.
