Anybody have any input on a camera around the $250 range that would take somewhat decent pictures at a concert?
Right now we have a Sony DSC-P73 that's about 5 years old that takes terrible night shots no matter what setting we use. We either get a great shot of the person's head in front of us, or bright streaks that represent the folks on stage.

Right now looking at the Canon PowerShot SD4500IS or PowerShot SX130 IS.

I don't expect professional for that price, but has to be better than what we have now.

I dont have any input but I am curious, who the hell is playing that youd drop 250 on a camera so you can take pictures?

hah, nobody in particular. Just an example. We are looking for a new camera anyway, and dark shots have always been our main problem.

sony tx5. I recently got it and the night time pics are incredible. $200 at sony style 2 months ago. Water and shock proof. One of the best point and shoot cameras, IMO. It's also touch screen so navigation is easy and simple.
