Hello,
I went to the Futureshop in Fredericton, NB today and noticed a bunch of crazy markdowns. All manner of consoles and handhelds had some games marked down - they had their original Futureshop price in the top right (square sticker all black font) and also had a circular "music, movies, games etc for less" red and white sticker on them with the new, hand-written reduced prices on them.

-Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (GC) was $29.99 - a steal considering this will never drop in price significantly and EBs sell them for $59.99 new/54.99 used.

-Baten Kaitos: Origins (GC) was $29.99 - a great deal, $49.99 everywhere else.

-Many other things, off the top of my head I can recall:
NBA Street Vol .2 (ps2) - $9.95
-Tales of the Abyss - 19.95 - Tales of Legendia 29.95 (these may be reversed, I forget which is the newest one)
-Golden: rogue Agent (ps2) - dropped by 10 off MSRP
-those two new-ish giant mecha games for PS2 one is like IGP EURO grandprix or something weird, and the other one Eureka vol. 1 --both dropped by 10 at least off msrp.
-some crappy ds games dropped by 10 off msrp (like some casino game, not clubhouse games)
-some psp games I don't remember dropped
-xbox - several games reduced, don't remember specifics
-360 - a few reduced, nothing good I don't think
-ps3- didnt check
-wii- none dropped
-GBA - one or two crap ones dropped
-several more for Cube,ps2,xbox i dont recall

Anyway, I've got some specifics - check it out yourself!

Also, interesting tidbit - one of the copies of Origins had 29.95 marked and the other had 19.95 marked so I, of course being a CAG, took the 19 one up - it rang in as 29.95 but the young lady was kind enough to give it to me for 19 without any fuss at all : )

Also, I PMed Fire Emblem at EB - just a note, I once tried to PM some games at EB (18.98 DBZ Wii from RCSS and Tales of Phantasia GBA 18.98 from RCSS) and the clerks wouldn't do it b/c they were afraid of getting in trouble (no managers were there when i tried this). Today, however, I PMed the Fire Emblem but it probbaly only worked b/c the manager did it for me- employees are too afraid to PM more than 20 bucks or so it seems..

Sorry Spades, don't recall. Don't think I saw first baten kaitos (though its like 19.99 or less everywhere), Prime is 9.99 new at BBV I think (frickin' nuts), Beyond Good and Evil, pretty sure that wasn't there- don't know where to find it cheap really - eb is like 17.99 i think for ps2 used?
 
I got prime for 9.99 when zellers was doing greatest hits for 9.99 on boxing week. Pretty sweet.

Also got a few other interesting thingies.

I think these prices drops might be across the country. Here in Brampton, ON, the Gamecube games were the same price. There were some PS2 games lowered as well (I picked up Disgaea 2 for 29.99).
 
I checked for Tales of the Abyss. That one was 29.95 and not 19.95 (still a pretty good deal). I didn't see any Tales of Legendia but I'm guessing that it'd be the 19.95 one you have reversed. I saw Street Fighter Alpha Anthology and Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max (PSP) for 19.95. It's about time these finally dropped in price. Though SFA3M wasn't that big of a drop (previously 24.99). I didn't notice any other noteworthy games that I'm into.
 
Nice finds! I went by a local FS and they didn't have many good games on sale. I remember Doom 3 and TimeSplitters 2 for XBOX for $10. Auto Assault for PC was $12.95.
 
Thx for heads up OP, I went to a FS a little way's outta town and found a decent selection of those games you stated, but all I wanted was Tales of the Abyss more than anything, as this game is hard to find nowadays, and with the price point at 29.99 now, know that I won't find it this cheap anytime soon, if at all.
 
Yeah, everyone with a PS2 should grab Tales of the Abyss. It was a great game =) Annoying this is a lot of the sidequests can only be done on your second playthrough =(

Basically Im allowed to if they ahve it ins tock ahve the best buy call them.

Even if they factor in shipping from another privnce it'll still drop ti to someting other than 70+

Mechassault: Phantom War [DS] - 9.95 ! (the reviews say its good)
Retro Atari - 14.95 [DS] - maybe this isn't a drop...

I bought the last Disgaea 2 from FS at Richmond..I asked the FS guys if they had more copies of that game, and only Vancouver had 1 left, they said...try getting the PM from the FS in Vancouver.

Regarding Tales of the Abyss and Fire Emblem, no can do on the Tales of the Abyss, I bought the last copy in Greater Vancouver, as I had to go way's outta town to get it, so you can't PM :( unfortunately...go to your FS and ask them to look outta your city..that's how I got the Tales of the Abyss.
 
Tempted to buy the two tales games...don't feel like spending the cash though when I still got 7 games to beat lol

Go to Futureshop's website, they have store locators around Canada and you should find it.
 
I asked if my FS would pricematch Bestbuys and one of the dudes there said no because there are no Bestbuys in New Brunswick. Which sucks..
 
Sorry to bump this old topic, but I just wanted to thank the OP.

I was at Futureshop, and spotted Fire Emblem, marked at $60. If it wasn't for this tip off, I wouldn't have known about the markdown. I took it to the counter and it rung up as $30. Last copy there, too.
