Cheapest HD DVD player ?
Cant you also connect it to a pc runing vista?
Yeah I'm not sure how exactly but I know MightySlacker said he got something to play the 360 HD DVD player without a 360.

Vista recognizes the 360 HD-DVD natively w/o any drivers. However, you will have to find a copy of Cyberlink PowerDVD to be able to watch HD-DVDs on your PC. I have PowerDVD 7.3, and it works fine. I remember reading somewhere that the newer versions of PowerDVD didn't fully support HD-DVDs after the format died. I'm not entirely positive about that though.

Yes both powerdvd 8 and 9 officially drops hd-dvd support. There are hacks to make this work for earlier revisions of powerdvd 8 but the latet patches/builds do not work with the hacks. Arcsoft also makes total media theatre software (TMT2 and TMT3 Platinum) that still has hd-dvd support with bugs of their own.
