CAGiversary!
Feedback

After much anticipation I present...the CC 50% off sale! Let me preface the list with a few comments. This is 50% off the regular price--49.99 will be 24.99, 29.99 will be 14.99 and so on. The price that shows when the game is scanned will be the 50% off price. Essentially, the included games should range in price from $4.99-$24.99. Each individual title's price was not on the list and I'm not about to scan every game to find out. :)
Second, I was not able to confirm this directly since the price changes will be downloaded over Saturday night; however, this list is printed directly from CC internal website. I have no reason to believe any of these titles are wrong. This does not prevent CC corporate from changing these prices or titles at any point during the week. OK, I'm sure everyone is sick of me covering my back so let's have some fun...

EDIT: This sale is actually UP TO 50% off. The 50% is not guaranteed. Some will be 50%, some won't. I'll list prices for games as they come in. I apologize for getting anyone too excited.

EDIT: I've changed the format slightly. I'm listing all games alphabetically w/console listed after when necessary. I just don't have time to type multiple titles multiple times. You understand, right?

EDIT 2/6 3:35P EST: Well, it seems there has been a lot of hype and not much substance so far. This list is legit as the scans on page 9 will show; however, CC corporate is not known for downloading prices on time. There may be more price drops Tuesday morning since, if not all prices were downloaded correctly, corporate won't realize it until Monday then download them Monday night. There is also speculation that the sale will increased as late as 2/20-21 for the President's Day sale. Unfortunately, I'm unable to find out anything else until Monday at the earliest. I am going to go ahead and post prices that are listed on the thread by fellow CAGs. I can't confirm these so I'm counting on other CAGs for accuracy. Essentially, lower your expectations some but don't give up yet.

Thank you very much to twiztidjester for answering the many questions that came in while I was posting this topic. I appreciate your offer to help w/the list. I just wish I would have noticed it before. :(

Also to demonmanTNA for providing a scan of the list since I'm scannerless. X-Division rules! TNA on PPV Sunday, 2/13!

There are different value classifications for the generic stamped games. It looks like pretty much all of the value groups are included in the sale. These might not make a lot of sense (even if you work at CC) but check them anyway.

value bin 14.99-PS2
value bin 19.99-PS2 & Xbox
value bin 9.99-PS2 & PS1
value game PS1 2-pack GH (no price listed)
value program 9.99-PS1
value program 14.99-PS2 (GH), Xbox, GC & PS1 (PH)
value program 19.99-PS2 (GH), Xbox (PH) & Xbox

Well, I think this is it. Let me know if I left anything off or made any bad spelling errors. I will try to post prices as they come in. Happy hunting, everybody! :D

I just got back from two CC's.

Thief: Deadly Shadows-14.99 Xbox
Robotech:Invasion-19.99 Xbox
Deus Ex:Invisible War-10.47 Xbox
I-Ninja-4.96 Xbox
Bloodrayne 2- 37.44 Xbox(didn't buy it)

I checked on others that were on list like Pikmin 2 and Neo Contra and they werent discounted. Don't know if they were on sale but all the stickers said 49.99.

This sale is pretty weak actually. I picked up F-Zero GP for $15, 50% off, but the rest of it isn't great. Metal Arms is like $7 on Xbox if you can find it.

EDIT: Here's what I can remember:

Sword of Mana - 20.99
Metal Arms Xbox - 6.97
Taiko Drum Master - 34.99
Halo 2 - 49.99 (not sure if its the special edition or not, didn't specify)
Mario 64 DS - 29.99 (WTF?)
Asphalt Urban GT - 29.99 (again, WTF?)
Zelda 2 Classic - 12.99
donkey Kong Classic - 12.99
Metroid Classic - 12.99
Backyard Wrestling (PS2, Xbox) - 10.97
Showdown: LoW (No platform specified) - 19.99
Rogue Ops (GC) - 6.97
XIII (GC) - 6.97
Certain Pokemon GBA Vids - 9.99

That's all I remember. Not too great of a sale, but perhaps they will add more games as the week goes on?

My CC was incredibly weak. I ended up pricechecking Zelda Four Swords, Second Sight and MK: Deception. Only Second Sight was on sale for $19.99,
My CC was incredibly weak. I ended up pricechecking Zelda Four Swords, Second Sight and MK: Deception. Only Second Sight was on sale for $19.99,
It's actually been that price for a while at CC, I picked it up for $5 on that glitch day in December.

EDIT: I bought the XBox version, not sure about the others.
My CC was incredibly weak. I ended up pricechecking Zelda Four Swords, Second Sight and MK: Deception. Only Second Sight was on sale for $19.99,
I believe 19.99 is MSRP for Second Sight right now.
My CC was incredibly weak. I ended up pricechecking Zelda Four Swords, Second Sight and MK: Deception. Only Second Sight was on sale for $19.99,
Right now, that's MSRP on Second Sight.
Anyone bite on Backyard Wrestlin 2 for $14.99? I realize it probably sucks something awful, but for $14.99..
...even at $14.99 I wouldn't touch it unless i was a real serious Andrew W.K. or ICP fan. There's always something better to burn that money on.

My CC claimed the sale wasn't even for games at first, then when Evergrace rang up half off, said there were only a few selections. I would have gotten Blinx 2, Red Dead Revolver, Monster Hunter, Castlevania, and Gungrave but all rang up normal. Damn this sucks!

I got F-Zero GP for GBA for $15, and Onimusha Blade Warriors for $14. They also had a sign saying 50% off on PC strat guides, it didn't ring up right at first, but I got the HL2 guide for 12.50
Does anyone checked "drakengard" for ps2 ???
Check Target clearance for Drakengard, if you haven't already.

I would've picked up FF XI w/ the hard drive, but despite the computers showing *nine* in stock, the employees couldn't find a single one. I left empty-handed.

Maybe 'neocisco' can tell us why the games on the list are not rining up as being on sale. I'm sure he will get the 'inside' on it for us...

I went in mostly because they had a wireless desktop card for 19.99, but even after some disappointments, I had to check the games section. I didn't have the guy total the transaction, but the games were all ringing up at the tagged price. Breakdown was not available, nor was Second Sight (two games that a couple people mentioned as ringing up as a sale item). Checked Psi-Ops, BG&E, and LOTR:TT. The only good news is that I found a BG&E for xbox at 10 dollars.

Worse news is that the CC employee I checked with seemed clueless to the sale. He said "I think they might be on greatest hits games". Didnt seem so sure. Oh well, maybe this will materialize into something later on.

man i knew i get my hopes for for nothing. the only 50% off games are the one in the flyer the rest are just around 10% off.

onimusha 3 12.96
FFT 24.96

this is one of the coldest deals ever

and yet it's at 21 pages..21 pages of nothing

priceless

Novi, MI

I picked up a Taiko for my sister's birthday, but really not too much there. Probably about 20 games on sale total, big disappointment.
My CC was incredibly weak. I ended up pricechecking Zelda Four Swords, Second Sight and MK: Deception. Only Second Sight was on sale for $19.99,
Did you open it yet? EB Games has Second Sight new for $14.99.
I don't know about this one. The CC ad shows 1080 for GC for $25, I got this for $10 brand new about 6 months ago. I'll see what others find and then decide if I want to take a chance at my CC.
TRU has them for 13

In Hialeah (FL), I only checked GC games, but the only thing that rang up was 1080 and I'm not going to spend $25 on that. Not even the value games came up (I checked about 5 different titles just in case). I did find the last Twin Snakes for $20, so it wasn't a total bust for me.

Went to the CC in Totowa, NJ on Route 46. Ran into another CAG, also as confused by the 'sale'. After standing around for an hour, we finally saw the pages of pricedrops, only to be completely dissappointed at what was being dropped.

The only positive to this is that CC is getting in the mood to lighten their stock, so hopefully the second Holy $5 sale is only a month or two away when this sale falls flat on its face.

I checked the Union Square CC. I picked up Taiko, Nightmare of Druaga ($17.99 - normal price but I wanted it anyway) and F-Zero GP. They had another 3 or 4 Taiko bundles. Like most people here, I had a basket filled with stuff, including .hack//outbreak and DDR Ultramix bundle, but it was all full price. Unless you want Taiko, don't bother. No FFXI either.

Yeah, but I think a local store here offers 30 for it.. could be wrong, they may have dropped it to 29.99, which is the MSRP now. Eh.. I'll wait for $10 or under, shouldn't be long before it's in a $9.99 sale at EBgames.com

Well, looks like I'll have to wait till Chaos Theory to experiences SC awesome MP.... that is unless there is a super deal on it or I win one of cheapy's contests.. lol.

alright so i called my local circuit city to see if there were any cheap jampacks included in this sale, but newyaZ i asked if there were a lot of games that were 50% off and he said no, and said i should wait for a supposed sale presidents day weekend, so.... tkae this how you want it, cuz i 0n0 if hes informed or not

thanks for all the updates everyone. it looks like a false alarm, eh?

i'm on west coast time, so i checked CAG before heading out this morning. (and also CC's website, which appears to be accurate) thanks for saving me a lot of time running around.

Scored a Final Fastasy XI w/HDD if anyone is interested. Send me a PM or check the trading forum. Thanks.

I went and came back with... nothin' special.

Same stuff was on sale that everyone else posted
Thief 3 = $14.99
Robotech Invasion = $19.99
Taiko Drum Master = $34.99
Final Fantasy XI = $37.99

I checked a ton of the "Value Priced" stuff with the special UPC stickers stuck over the original UPC's and it all rang up as marked. PS2 Jampacks are still $4.99 too. :x

I was able to find a value priced Gamecube combo of "Darkened Sky and Outlaw Golf" for $14.99 though.

Other than that, this sale was fairly underwhelming, but it does leave room for a bigger sale yet to come. Here's to hoping...

OK guys it looks like I may be one of the few to get in on this sale. This is what happened to me today. I went to Circuit City (the one on Hall Road across from Lake Side Mall) and asked the guy in electronics if he had a list of all the games that were 50% off. I get the list and it is the exact list posted here. I look around and pick these up

Karaoke Revolution Vol. 3 Bundle
Taiko Drum Master
DDR Extreme 2 Bundle
Kirby and the Amazing Mirror
Yu-Gi-Oh! Destiny Board Traveler

take these games and bring them to the guy who gave me the list. He rings me up and says for some reason all the games are not ringing up 50% off. He tells me to go to the front lane check out and tell them to manually override everything. So I go to the front checkout with the list and games and explain what happened to this girl. She seems confused but starts to manually override everything. She then decides to call someone from electronics over to see if she should really be doing this. A different guy from the one I spoke to earlier came up and said "I guess this is whats on sale but it seems like a mistake because nearly every game we carry is on this list and the ad says only 50 titles." But he says just give them to me. So I walk away with a smile on my face knowing I just got one hell of a deal. Total came to be $127.20.

karaoke revolution $30.00
ddr bundle $30
taiko $30
yu-gi-oh! $15
kirby $15

if anyone doesn't believe me I will scan the receipt tonight. I dont have access to a scanner right now.

I got to this one late. Looks like it was pretty disappointing though. I will be running to the local CC tonight to grab F-Zero for $14.99 and Taiko, since I've been wanting both. I'll see if anything else is worth picking up...
Picked up FFXI with hard drive for $37.49. That's it.Was worth a trip :D
i'm so jealous... i wanted one of these so bad. Nice find!

Well... I guess it's time I mark this thread...

It's a trap!!!

:D

Thanks for the heads up OP. But I've been off work for the past week due to illness so I can't go check for anything. Congratz to those that made out though.

+1 - similar thing happened to me...i asked for a list of what was on sale (with the CAG list readily available in my back pocket) and they said they didnt have one...grabbed some games from the list, took them to the front, where they rang up at full price...when i asked if they should be 50% off, another CSR walks by, and whispers to the other one, something to the effect of "these are part of the sale next week, how do they know they are already on sale"....smiled and said I was going to BB b/c they were having sale on those same games as well (obviously total BS)

my only thought is that is this list for the supposed clearance sale NEXT WK, or PRES-DAY WKND?

My CC was incredibly weak. I ended up pricechecking Zelda Four Swords, Second Sight and MK: Deception. Only Second Sight was on sale for $19.99,
Did you open it yet? EB Games has Second Sight new for $14.99.
Nah, I didn't bother.

Us CAGers got ROYALLY HOSED. I went to two CC's this morning and brought like 15 games to be scanned and not one of them was on sale. This stinks. Here's a partial list of what rang up at full price:

PIKMIN 2
Tales of Symphonia
Baten Kaitos
Golden Sun
Metroid Fusion
Metroid Zero Mission

And that's all I can remember off the top of my head. I have to go get some breakfast/lunch now and try and forget this crummy morning. Oh well. Maybe next time, eh, guys?

Because everyone knows how much Presidents love their video games!!!

I got FF XI for $37.49 like others (Cary NC, Crossroads). I got a WTF look from the CSR and a "I need to go see the manager."

Thanks, OP, been wanting a HDD for a while. :D :D :D :D :D

Hit up the Two Notch CC in Columbia, SC.

Nothing was marked. They did not have the game titles in order. Had to dig around for stuff. Little bit of a letdown.

Priced:
Kingdom Under Fire $20
Psi Ops xbox $20
Sudeki $20
FFXI $37 Picked up this!
Taiko Drum Master $35 Should have gone ahead and bought it.

Had one guy scan the first 3 only to come back at 20. Then had another guy check FFXI and Drum Master. At first he just quoted the sticker price. Then I told him a friend up north had them ring up for less. :) He was like "I know FFXI is 99". Scans them and when he saw the price for FFXI, he about hit the roof. "Man I got to buy one for my brother" he says.

I love clueless employees, but they were very helpful.

im pretty sure the sale is meant to start next week.. maybe the prices arn't in the system yet? seems like CC learned about loading prices early from the $5 sale..

Just a note, last time the sale went up, (5$ games which i was lucky enough to get 32:) ) the website pulled all the games... they did it again, all the games that are "sold out" are on the list... could be another big one, so gear up!
Word on the street (and I don't actually know which street)... is that this week is this "Up To 50%" ... but NEXT WEEK is the BIG sale for what doesn't sell this week. All in all, it makes up the Winter Clearance that CC so desperately needs to do to clean their shelves. Not clear... clean. Cause we all know how much of a disarray those things are.

Anyways, to recap:

1. It's late and a good night's rest does everyone good.

2. The big sale is (supposedly) Next Week.

3. CC has crumulent organization when it comes to Video Games.
Went to one, today, lady says "where in the process of getting all the games together and mark them down." none of the games where on sale or anything, they put an ad in the paper and dont even have the stuff. Thats really gay.

I actually have an easy time believing this. the sale will be next saturday most likely.

Doesn't sound like anyone else needs to be warned, but this was a total bust for me, too.
