Clarification on Gamestop.com tax policy when using store credit

I just ordered and I thought I had read here in another thread of some users getting there tax back after paying with an edge card for an online order. I did the same and called but was told I was incorrect. Did I misread that thread or what?

As I always have as well, however I read a thread the other day suggesting otherwise that a few CAGs had gotten reimbursed in the form of store credit by GS and had gotten tracking numbers confirming in some cases 10 shipments of refunds.
Yes certain certain states you don't need to pay tax but when you purchase online you will have to pay for tax.
Is there a list of those states (for in-store credit purchase)?

If you trade games in and put it on your edge card say $30 worth, and then you buy something for $40, you only pay tax on the 10$ difference.
