[customspoiler=Basic FAQ]
-Basic Info/Overview
For those that don't know Club Nintendo is Nintendo's loyalty program of sorts. When you buy a Nintendo Console/Handheld, or a Nintendo published game, you get a pin that you can enter online to earn points. These points can then be redeemed for games, accesories, and collectable items. If you earn enough points in a Club year (300 for gold and 600 for platinum, which each have their own reward), you also receive a free bonus only available to a select few. You can read the full list of eligible titles, as well as their point value, here.

-How do I get coins for digital purchases?
In order to earn coins on any digital games you purchase on Wii/WiiU/3DS/DSi, you will first need to link you Club Nintendo account to your system. Instruction for doing so can be found here.

-Can I play the Wii games on my Wii-U?
Yes, but as of now, only in Wii mode. Native Wii U support might be added later on, but will most likely require the typical $1-$1.50 fee to transfer over.

-How do I play Wii games on Wii U
You will need to enter Wii mode on your Wii U. Instructions on doing so can be found http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/features_wii_menu.jsp?menu=wii_shop&submenu=wup-wiishop-ht-redeem-code"]here.

- If I don't spend coins for the entire year long period, do they carry over?
Yes, you can keep your coins past the Club Nintendo year they are redeemed in. However they only count toward gold or platinum status for the Nintendo year (june 31st-july 1st) they are redeemed in. After two years old points do expire, so make sure to spend them before then. You can check Coin balance information while, logged in, at the top of the page.

- Is there a list of previous rewards for people who accumulated a lot of coins? Similar to Square Enix's Ultimate Tier?
The extra rewards for Club Nintendo are for those that accumulate enough points to hit Gold or Platinum status (300 and 600 points, respectively). If you reach the required number of points in a year, Nintendo will automatically send you your reward, with no cost to you or your points.

- Does the list of eligible games update as the games come out or on some sort of schedule?
The list will be updated before the game comes out, do to things like Pre-Purchase bonus points. Any game you can buy, should already be on the list and able to redeem.

- When do they typically announce the prizes for Gold and Platinum?
Generally at the end of a Club Nintendo year, but don't expect it anytime soon. Usually it will take at least several months for them to ship it out.

- Is there anyway to enter multiple copies of the same game or device?
They have an option in the settings to make your account a family account, which means it can have sub-accounts that allows you to register multiple copies of games. The coins from all the sub-accounts all end up in the same main account coin collection.

- How does the site show what balance of coins you have to spend versus your total towards Gold/Platinum?
At the top right of the screen you can see the coin counter. The big number is your total coin amount, and the bar underneath is your progress to gold or platinum status. The number needed to advance is displayed directly above said bar. Redeeming your coins does not affect this counter, as it is only reset at the end of the year.

- How can I tell if a code is valid without redeeming it?
If you want to check if a code has already been registered, without registering it yourself, all you need to do is try entering the code while you are logged out. It will tell you the name of the game, as well as how many points it is worth, without activating it.[/customspoiler]

Let me know if I missed anything or if something breaks!

It was worth 60 coins and the OP is not yours to command. Some politeness wouldn't hurt.
Btw, anyone know when they are going to release platinum reward info?
I would say about a week or two before the reward year ends, so around the end of June hopefully.

Sweet pimp slapping Vishnu, please keep posting things. I can just tell you're going to be tons-o-fun.

I wished they put back the 3ds case but than again, I've already reaches Platinum status so I'm not registering any more games until this year ends. I do hope it's a decent item this year, the last two were "meh"

I was going through and registering some old DS games that I have and when I was entering in the code for Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time I noticed they have an interesting mistype. On the bottom left of the page with the pin code they call the game Mario and Luigi: Partners in Crime instead of Partners in Time.

I thought the Nintendo Year ended June 2nd. What is the end date?

Edit: OIC June 30

I'd like the case to go back up as well, mine is full.

Hopefully they start adding Wii U Virtual Console games as the monthly coin deals soon. I was about to pull the trigger on Mario RPG, but I've been spoiled by off screen play on the Gamepad.
Yes they expire after 2 years around June/July.

So if you registered right now, they will expire in 1 year 1 month

If you register in 2 monhts they will expire in 1 year 11 months from then.
I thought someone said they restart every year. Where is this info.

The eventual 1.50 price seems like a good enough deal to me. I got kirby's super star that way

you should probably pull the trigger so itll only be 1.50 for the wii u version

I didn't think about that. Thanks for the tip.

Coins accrued towards Gold/Platinum status reset every club year. I believe you have two (club) years to actually spend the coins on rewards.

Woo, found two codes in some old DS games that were shockingly worth 40 and 30 still. Got me to 600 exactly. Hopefully the prize this year isn't half bad, I would be cool with something Luigi.

I'll just be happy if they offer game downloads for Gold again. After nine years of those fucking calenders, getting Metroid II last year was beautiful.

All this talk about Platinum rewards just made me remember I didn't receive my reward for last year... I bet it's to late to contact them about it... Whhaaaa!
When u redeem your points for a game code, does that code have an expiration date?
I have a code redemption email that I haven't redeemed yet cause I was waiting til I got a Wii U and it says nothing about an expiration date
When u redeem your points for a game code, does that code have an expiration date?
Yes. It's been a long time since I got a code but I think they expire after a month or two.

Yes. It's been a long time since I got a code but I think they expire after a month or two.

Edit: Wait I'm wrong. I just checked my CN account and the game that expired was Doc Louis' Punch-Out!! The game code before it doesn't say anything about expiring.
When u redeem your points for a game code, does that code have an expiration date?
I contacted Club Nintendo about this once and they said the codes don't expire, but they won't work if the game is removed from the e-shop. I got a Metal Torrent code in April 2012 and it worked over a year later.
Based on previous years I expect a Luigi pencil case as the platinum prize.
I'm going to say it will be a Luigi hat. Shame because I won't reach Platinum this year. Hoping tomorrow's game selection is good :) I'm loving these free games. I kind of wish they bring over the Mario Kart Trophy prizes that EU gets. That would be a cool Plat/Gold prize.

I thought those trophies were cool, but it doesn't seem like it would fit right now. Maybe if they had just released a new Mario Kart game...

I'm still sitting with this un-opened deck of cards, and I'm hoping that this year I can actually use what I'm given.

But all that being said, I'm still happy they are doing this. I haven't been a fan of recent prizes but this is all optional so anything is better than nothing.
Everyone's banking on a Luigi hat so I'm going to go in the opposite direction and say it will be Luigi... pants!
Well I'm wonder what it gonna be too. I'm platinum on both of my accounts so I'll be getting 2 this year.

I'm actually hoping that tomorrow's selection sucks or is stacked with games I already have. I'm down to 30 points. Have enough to platinum for next year, come July. I don't want to waste them before the new club "year".
Everyone's banking on a Luigi hat so I'm going to go in the opposite direction and say it will be Luigi... pants!
I really hope they do a Luigi pillow like the Mario platinum prize a while back. Would without a doubt platinum next year if they did that, though this is also coming from a guy who has enough vouchers to hit platinum next year...

I know it won't happen, but for the Platinum, I'd really love a free Super Luigi U download voucher. That would be the greatest prize they've ever given.

Hey, does Miiverse have a Club Nintendo section? It really should.
I have a code redemption email that I haven't redeemed yet cause I was waiting til I got a Wii U and it says nothing about an expiration date
What code are you waiting to redeem on the Wii U? I didn't think they have offered any codes that can be redeemed on it yet.

Wouldn't be a bad choice, but it would be better (in my opinion) to make an PR move and offer it for free for those that bought the Wii U / Mario in the first month or only the DX version and Mario.

Unless you don't have a WiiU, then you would be very unhappy that you bothered to register all those points this year.

I didn't see it in the first post or in the FAQ on the Club Nintendo site but say the Platinum rewards are something awful like playing cards or posters and the gold rewards are game options again, do platinum members have the option of taking a gold reward instead?

Yes, plats always have the option to choose gold... but why choose a game you can buy for 5 bucks, when you can get a shitty limited edition item?

I chose Doc Louise's Punch-Out first year because it's impossible to get now and I can always buy a Mario hat for like 20 bucks.
And yes it was a game that transferred to Wii U (I'm looking at you Lost Winds)

Well if it's something with enough potential weird value that it's worth hanging onto or selling, sure that's one thing. Playing cards, posters, etc. that have no value and will sit in a box until I die... eh, I would rather have a $5 game that I might actually play.
