[customspoiler=Basic FAQ]
-Basic Info/Overview
For those that don't know Club Nintendo is Nintendo's loyalty program of sorts. When you buy a Nintendo Console/Handheld, or a Nintendo published game, you get a pin that you can enter online to earn points. These points can then be redeemed for games, accesories, and collectable items. If you earn enough points in a Club year (300 for gold and 600 for platinum, which each have their own reward), you also receive a free bonus only available to a select few. You can read the full list of eligible titles, as well as their point value, here.

-How do I get coins for digital purchases?
In order to earn coins on any digital games you purchase on Wii/WiiU/3DS/DSi, you will first need to link you Club Nintendo account to your system. Instruction for doing so can be found here.

-Can I play the Wii games on my Wii-U?
Yes, but as of now, only in Wii mode. Native Wii U support might be added later on, but will most likely require the typical $1-$1.50 fee to transfer over.

-How do I play Wii games on Wii U
You will need to enter Wii mode on your Wii U. Instructions on doing so can be found http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/features_wii_menu.jsp?menu=wii_shop&submenu=wup-wiishop-ht-redeem-code"]here.

- If I don't spend coins for the entire year long period, do they carry over?
Yes, you can keep your coins past the Club Nintendo year they are redeemed in. However they only count toward gold or platinum status for the Nintendo year (june 31st-july 1st) they are redeemed in. After two years old points do expire, so make sure to spend them before then. You can check Coin balance information while, logged in, at the top of the page.

- Is there a list of previous rewards for people who accumulated a lot of coins? Similar to Square Enix's Ultimate Tier?
The extra rewards for Club Nintendo are for those that accumulate enough points to hit Gold or Platinum status (300 and 600 points, respectively). If you reach the required number of points in a year, Nintendo will automatically send you your reward, with no cost to you or your points.

- Does the list of eligible games update as the games come out or on some sort of schedule?
The list will be updated before the game comes out, do to things like Pre-Purchase bonus points. Any game you can buy, should already be on the list and able to redeem.

- When do they typically announce the prizes for Gold and Platinum?
Generally at the end of a Club Nintendo year, but don't expect it anytime soon. Usually it will take at least several months for them to ship it out.

- Is there anyway to enter multiple copies of the same game or device?
They have an option in the settings to make your account a family account, which means it can have sub-accounts that allows you to register multiple copies of games. The coins from all the sub-accounts all end up in the same main account coin collection.

- How does the site show what balance of coins you have to spend versus your total towards Gold/Platinum?
At the top right of the screen you can see the coin counter. The big number is your total coin amount, and the bar underneath is your progress to gold or platinum status. The number needed to advance is displayed directly above said bar. Redeeming your coins does not affect this counter, as it is only reset at the end of the year.

- How can I tell if a code is valid without redeeming it?
If you want to check if a code has already been registered, without registering it yourself, all you need to do is try entering the code while you are logged out. It will tell you the name of the game, as well as how many points it is worth, without activating it.[/customspoiler]

Let me know if I missed anything or if something breaks!
Well if it's something with enough potential weird value that it's worth hanging onto or selling, sure that's one thing. Playing cards, posters, etc. that have no value and will sit in a box until I die... eh, I would rather have a $5 game that I might actually play.
Fair enough, I went with the poster last year since I want to have them all.
Sadly i missed out on the DK set... it was my fault, I kept delaying...
I won't make it to Platinum this year, but I'm set for Gold. I just hope it isn't another stinkin' calendar.
Last year I reached gold and chose a game over the calendar. The colander is pretty useless for most people since they already have one and has almost no intrinsic value after a year.

Not to mention the calendar's kind of pointless after the year's up.

& new games will be offered up as rewards later today.

Where are you guys seeing any rewards? On the page with the gold and platinum rewards, the rewards listed are the ones from last year. Nothing has updated yet, I don't know when this happens.

Nintendo usually updates stuff at 9am pacific (eshop on thursdays, club nintendo on whenever)
So... about 41 more minutes
What code are you waiting to redeem on the Wii U? I didn't think they have offered any codes that can be redeemed on it yet.
It's just N64 Paper Mario for wii virtual console but I wasn't gonna get to it for awhile so I figured I would just wait til I got a wii u to redeem

Yea, thats what I figured. I just got confused with the posters above saying that they didn't like the new rewards, because they AREN'T UP! lol,

They're just gonna update what games you can get with your coins for the month, which should be happening in about 20 minutes, though they might be slightly late, so about 1 PM ET at the latest.

Yeah not sure where people were getting the idea that the plat/gold rewards are coming today. They usually do it a little while after the promo year ends...usually around the end of June. Then even at that I remember last year they were a week later than everybody expected. In fact looking at my order last year (I ordered the day it was announced) I see they didn't even announce it until July 6th.

Thought it did...didn't say a date in my post though... I just know usually at the end of June is when they announce but last year they ran really late and everybody was pissed. Then of course everybody was even more pissed when they saw what it was.

Welp, no update so far. can't wait any longer! *runs off to work*
Guess I'll just check again when I get there

How often ARE they on time? I have honestly never once seen them be even remotely on time. Sure I don't check every single time they update but they times I have been aware of the update it's always been at least an hour late, sometimes several.

Games are now up:

Super Mario Bros. 3 (Wii, 150 Coins)
F-Zero X (Wii, 200 Coins)
Link 'n' Launch (3DS, 150 Coins)
Metroid 2: Return of Samus (3DS, 150 Coins)

Link n Launch seems to have great reviews, not sure if it's really for me though. Although I have a crap-ton of coins so might give it a try.

Grabbing Super Mario Bros 3 (the only Mario game I am missing on the Wii and Wii U VC) and F-Zero X. I hope announce N64 being on the Wii U VC at some point.

Well with 310 coins expiring, this is a decent lineup. Only have 3DS so I'll grab both, because free is free! Actually never heard of metroid II so I'll give it a stab

Stupid question, can I get the Wii games and redeem them on the Wii U?

I haven't really looked into the new console but was maybe going to fall in possession of one soon.
Can anyone recommend Fzero X if I'm terrible at F-Zero SNES?
I haven't played either since I was a little kid, but I remember a little bit of a learning curve for each one. Maybe it was just because I was really young.

I'll be getting F-Zero X, but passing on Super Mario Bros 3 because I have it on Super Mario All Stars for the Wii (and the SNES, and the NES, and gameboy advance, and probably more consoles I can't even remember right now).
Stupid question, can I get the Wii games and redeem them on the Wii U?

You have to go to the Wii channel and use the Wii shop to get the VC games but once the game gets released in the Wii U eshop, you will be able to pay the $1-$2 dollar upgrade fee to bring it to the Wii U.
Stupid question, can I get the Wii games and redeem them on the Wii U?
Can anyone recommend Fzero X if I'm terrible at F-Zero SNES?
From my understanding, it's more close to FX on GCN. I enjoyed FX, but not a big fan of the original SNES game (or the GBA ones).

Hmm, got Link 'n' Launch, looks kind of interesting. Plus I have over 1000 coins, might as well spend some instead of stockpiling.

In for F-Zero. I never really got into the series, but I picked up the original for $.30 on the Wii U shop, might as well pick up the N64 game as well!
Will Link n Launch and Metroid 2 work on a regular DSi instead of a 3DS?
No, DSi lacks VC support and the ability to enter codes. You can only redeem codes from Club Nintendo on Wii, Wii U, and 3DS.

Thats a shame. Thanks for the help.
Mario 3 will work on the WiiU VC right?!
The code you get is via Wii's VC, so you have to play it via Wii Menu app, so no Gamepad support until Nintendo adds it to the Wii U eShop & you pay the $1 to "upgrade" it.

Kind of dumb that some of these SNES and even simple N64 games can't make it onto the 3DS. Don't have a Wii, don't want a Wii, but would love to play some of those classics again. Still happy to see Metroid 2, that's some fond memories (especially since I traded it for Link's Awakening once I beat it).

Ok yea I knew that, I just thought that Mario 3 was just added to Wii U VC?!? I get so confused by Nintendo. Wish they would just make it all easy to follow, lol.

(Thought Mario 3 and Mega Man X just went to Wii U VC...?)

Picked up Metroid II, keep waiting for some decent physical rewards to be added but doesn't look like its happening.

If Mario 3 is on the Wii U VC then someone can finally be the guinea pig to see if redeeming a code on your Wii-within-the-WiiU is then upgradeable to the Wii U VC version for the cheap price. I was worried that it would only be games that you transferred over to the Wii U originally and not stuff you bought (or redeemed) later. I'm not sure if anyone has tested this yet.

I'd do it but I'm pretty sure I already have it on the Wii VC (and thus it transferred over from my original Wii). But then again I get all these Mario games mixed up so I have no idea what I actually have ;).

I have Wii Points sitting on my old Wii Shop account. I wonder if there is something I could buy to see if I can then upgrade it? I'm pretty sure I already had Mario 2 then (whatever it was, I had the upgrade option already).

I suppose we just need to wait for more Wii U VC releases to get a better library to test with.
Was anyone able to get that Luigi 3DS Pouch? I don't even know when they put it up! :(
It was just added when they updated the rewards today.

Got the box in the mail!

Very roomy, and very well built. The fabric is nice! It's not flimsy. I threw in random shit across my bed to show you what it can fit!
