[customspoiler=Basic FAQ]
-Basic Info/Overview
For those that don't know Club Nintendo is Nintendo's loyalty program of sorts. When you buy a Nintendo Console/Handheld, or a Nintendo published game, you get a pin that you can enter online to earn points. These points can then be redeemed for games, accesories, and collectable items. If you earn enough points in a Club year (300 for gold and 600 for platinum, which each have their own reward), you also receive a free bonus only available to a select few. You can read the full list of eligible titles, as well as their point value, here.

-How do I get coins for digital purchases?
In order to earn coins on any digital games you purchase on Wii/WiiU/3DS/DSi, you will first need to link you Club Nintendo account to your system. Instruction for doing so can be found here.

-Can I play the Wii games on my Wii-U?
Yes, but as of now, only in Wii mode. Native Wii U support might be added later on, but will most likely require the typical $1-$1.50 fee to transfer over.

-How do I play Wii games on Wii U
You will need to enter Wii mode on your Wii U. Instructions on doing so can be found http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/features_wii_menu.jsp?menu=wii_shop&submenu=wup-wiishop-ht-redeem-code"]here[/url].

- If I don't spend coins for the entire year long period, do they carry over?
Yes, you can keep your coins past the Club Nintendo year they are redeemed in. However they only count toward gold or platinum status for the Nintendo year (june 31st-july 1st) they are redeemed in. After two years old points do expire, so make sure to spend them before then. You can check Coin balance information while, logged in, at the top of the page.

- Is there a list of previous rewards for people who accumulated a lot of coins? Similar to Square Enix's Ultimate Tier?
The extra rewards for Club Nintendo are for those that accumulate enough points to hit Gold or Platinum status (300 and 600 points, respectively). If you reach the required number of points in a year, Nintendo will automatically send you your reward, with no cost to you or your points.

- Does the list of eligible games update as the games come out or on some sort of schedule?
The list will be updated before the game comes out, do to things like Pre-Purchase bonus points. Any game you can buy, should already be on the list and able to redeem.

- When do they typically announce the prizes for Gold and Platinum?
Generally at the end of a Club Nintendo year, but don't expect it anytime soon. Usually it will take at least several months for them to ship it out.

- Is there anyway to enter multiple copies of the same game or device?
They have an option in the settings to make your account a family account, which means it can have sub-accounts that allows you to register multiple copies of games. The coins from all the sub-accounts all end up in the same main account coin collection.

- How does the site show what balance of coins you have to spend versus your total towards Gold/Platinum?
At the top right of the screen you can see the coin counter. The big number is your total coin amount, and the bar underneath is your progress to gold or platinum status. The number needed to advance is displayed directly above said bar. Redeeming your coins does not affect this counter, as it is only reset at the end of the year.

- How can I tell if a code is valid without redeeming it?
If you want to check if a code has already been registered, without registering it yourself, all you need to do is try entering the code while you are logged out. It will tell you the name of the game, as well as how many points it is worth, without activating it.[/customspoiler]

Let me know if I missed anything or if something breaks!

Earned Gold status this year.

Went with the 2014 calendar since it's physical (been following this Club Nintendo trend since 2009).

This year is the first time I got to the plat status and the rewards are pretty disappointing. Guess I'll get MM's soundtrack since it's the only somewhat decent thing.
Same here.

I'm not going to bother trying to get to Gold/Platinum status in the future. If I do, I do, if not, at least I know I won't be missing out on much.

Anyone have any idea how long the Platinum rewards usually take to ship out?

This is my first year obtaining gold or platinum status on CN so I have no idea what to expect. I will also be moving in about a month's time and will need to update my delivery address if it's going to be longer than that.

Thanks.

Ended up getting Link's Awakening as I was 30 points short of Platinum :/

The worst part is that after my WiiU from cowboom comes in on Tuesday, I'll only be 20 points short of Platinum and its only been like a week. FML

They don't ship until late November/December.

Got Super Smash Bros.as my reward. I've also got a code for Donkey Kong on 3ds if anyone is interested pm me.
If you get more than one person interested in DK for the 3ds, I have an extra copy as well. (To trade ;) )

Still debating soundtrack and posters. Might come down to a coin toss. Really wanted SOMETHING Luigi.

Glad that I went digging through the store. Fallout Collection (1, 2, and Tactics) for $2.99. What a steal.

EDIT: Sorry about that. Have no idea how I went from the Steam thread to Club Nintendo, lol.

I've never used this before.  I'm signing up my son's (he's 6) WiiU right now.  I should be platinum shortly.  A while back I bought a bunch of packaging/game inserts from a closing blockbuster but I had no idea what club nintendo was so I never did anything with them.  lol

Does anyone have an OoT 3D OST they'd like to trade for the MM OST?

I'm going to have an extra Platinum reward to trade or sell.

Your platinum will be effective from July 2013-June 2014 so you won't be able to get in on these prizes. You'll be able to redeem the platinum prize in July 2014. You probably realize this already but since you are new, I'm just making sure.

I think I'm going to with Smash Bros.  Still debating it but don't really need the MM soundtrack and don't really care for the posters.

Actually I didn't. Thank you for letting me know. I'm really new - and he did not have a Wii.

My latest question to arise regarding Nintendo stuff is whether a Wii U remote plus and a Wii remote plus are the same thing in different packaging.

Even though I hit platinum I still think I'm gonna go with gold prize.

Ah well.
This is my 1st year hitting Platinum, but may do the same.

Always got the calender in prior years so may just keep the tradition rolling. Hey, they're like 12 mini-posters riiight?!?! ;)

Club Nintendo is supposed to include Canada, right? I traded my reward to someone and I would like to have to shipped directly to him. However, when I try to add an address, I don't see any Canadian provinces in the drop-down menu. I guess I could have it shipped to me and then send it off to him once it arrives, but it would be nice to just have to sent straight there.

Anyone else having a problem like this?

I went with the CD. I've been debating it for a couple days now but I couldn't pass up on a Zelda OST. I really, really love that Windwaker poster though.

If anyone is willing to trade/sell the Windwaker poster (I don't care about the other two) let me know. I might entertain it.

They're the same, but Canadian residents can't ship to the US and the other way around. I tried this last year and ran into the same problem.

Damn. Guess I'll have to act as the middleman, then. Shouldn't be too much as a hassle at least. Thanks for clearing it up for me.

Yeah, this year, I got smart and made the deal with someone in the US up front. In their favor, since I am able to verify the shipping info from the order number, I was able to give them their $20 eShop credit now. :D

Only got to gold this year.  Since the only phsyical I can get is the calender which I'm not to keen on.  I have to ask, does anyone if the game download codes have a expiration date?  I figure I'll grab Link's Awakening DX but don't have a 3ds currently(or any access to the eShop right now for that matter).  But I know at some point I will get a 3DS just not anytime soon.

My latest question to arise regarding Nintendo stuff is whether a Wii U remote plus and a Wii remote plus are the same thing in different packaging.
The older Wii remote plus are different... the battery cover is solid with no external button to access the sync. This was a design change very late in the Wii remote life, and even some of the Wii U ones I opened at Walmart did not have the new ones inside the box yet. The new ones are better because you can sync them up without having to remove the silicone skins and battery cover.

Probably not the place to ask, but does anyone have the LoZ Majora's Mask code from January 2012 they redeemed and didn't use it? I'd buy it off you. Thanks.

hey, I am platinum and gold. Can I only redeem one gift? I thought you could redeem both: one for platinum and one for gold. I got the posters, but can't get any games for my gold award

Just one like MrNinjaSquirrel said.

no, you only get one or the other I'm afraid. Would be great if you got both, but that isn't the case
Yup. I never got why people ask, since I doubt anyone would really complain about getting a free game and OST (yeah Japan got better stuff, but that would still raise the value).

The VC codes you get from the monthly game offerings, and these yearly rewards, do not expire, so go ahead and get Link's Awakening.

I broke my 3ds a few weeks ago, i am going to buy a new 3ds tomorrow. Will I still be able to access my VC games or am I SOL.

Can you turn it on at all? If you can, then  yeah, you should be able to.

If not, you can send both units to Nintendo and they should be able to do a system transfer for you.

Free Nintendo 3ds xl, at the Parma, OH landfill. YMMV!
Classic! You might have more people digging if you just dropped it off at a Game Stop dumpster. We have lots of dumpster divers on CAG. Digging through a landfill will be CAG first I think. I would laugh if I read on here somebody went to a landfill and found a 3DS XL.

CN has Mario and Donkey Kong poster sets back up.

EDIT:  Oops, just noticed Bumslie posted that at the bottom... oh well.

Just a heads up for anyone interested, checked the rewards to see if anything else was added, and the Mario Poster Set & the Donkey Kong Poster Set are both back in stock.  If you want either, jump on it, you know they won't last long.

Never used any of my coins and have never been platinum so this is my first year getting stuff. Used some of my coins and grabbed the Mario poster set as I love game related posters. For my yearly reward I got the other poster set even though I dont care much for those I will still use them. Im excited, 6 basically free posters! :D

Got the OST even though I've never played MM. I should get around to it someday, and I'm sure it has a lovely score. The only poster I would have wanted is the Windwaker montage. Too bad N doesn't offer any exclusive DLC as an option for platinum members, like a special chracter or vehicle in Mario Kart 8 or Smash Brothers U. That would be very popular with fans and cost Nintendo almost nothing to provide.

I think it would work if it was simply a "Hey, you reached Gold/Platinum, you also earn this exclusive DLC". Would suck if it was actually a prize, and they had different DLC items for both reward levels.
