[customspoiler=Basic FAQ]
-Basic Info/Overview
For those that don't know Club Nintendo is Nintendo's loyalty program of sorts. When you buy a Nintendo Console/Handheld, or a Nintendo published game, you get a pin that you can enter online to earn points. These points can then be redeemed for games, accesories, and collectable items. If you earn enough points in a Club year (300 for gold and 600 for platinum, which each have their own reward), you also receive a free bonus only available to a select few. You can read the full list of eligible titles, as well as their point value, here.

-How do I get coins for digital purchases?
In order to earn coins on any digital games you purchase on Wii/WiiU/3DS/DSi, you will first need to link you Club Nintendo account to your system. Instruction for doing so can be found here.

-Can I play the Wii games on my Wii-U?
Yes, but as of now, only in Wii mode. Native Wii U support might be added later on, but will most likely require the typical $1-$1.50 fee to transfer over.

-How do I play Wii games on Wii U
You will need to enter Wii mode on your Wii U. Instructions on doing so can be found http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/features_wii_menu.jsp?menu=wii_shop&submenu=wup-wiishop-ht-redeem-code"]here[/url].

- If I don't spend coins for the entire year long period, do they carry over?
Yes, you can keep your coins past the Club Nintendo year they are redeemed in. However they only count toward gold or platinum status for the Nintendo year (june 31st-july 1st) they are redeemed in. After two years old points do expire, so make sure to spend them before then. You can check Coin balance information while, logged in, at the top of the page.

- Is there a list of previous rewards for people who accumulated a lot of coins? Similar to Square Enix's Ultimate Tier?
The extra rewards for Club Nintendo are for those that accumulate enough points to hit Gold or Platinum status (300 and 600 points, respectively). If you reach the required number of points in a year, Nintendo will automatically send you your reward, with no cost to you or your points.

- Does the list of eligible games update as the games come out or on some sort of schedule?
The list will be updated before the game comes out, do to things like Pre-Purchase bonus points. Any game you can buy, should already be on the list and able to redeem.

- When do they typically announce the prizes for Gold and Platinum?
Generally at the end of a Club Nintendo year, but don't expect it anytime soon. Usually it will take at least several months for them to ship it out.

- Is there anyway to enter multiple copies of the same game or device?
They have an option in the settings to make your account a family account, which means it can have sub-accounts that allows you to register multiple copies of games. The coins from all the sub-accounts all end up in the same main account coin collection.

- How does the site show what balance of coins you have to spend versus your total towards Gold/Platinum?
At the top right of the screen you can see the coin counter. The big number is your total coin amount, and the bar underneath is your progress to gold or platinum status. The number needed to advance is displayed directly above said bar. Redeeming your coins does not affect this counter, as it is only reset at the end of the year.

- How can I tell if a code is valid without redeeming it?
If you want to check if a code has already been registered, without registering it yourself, all you need to do is try entering the code while you are logged out. It will tell you the name of the game, as well as how many points it is worth, without activating it.[/customspoiler]

Let me know if I missed anything or if something breaks!

The high price means less people will be able to take advantage of it, insuring stock for the rest of us that can.

:)
This would be true if Club Nintendo offered things to spend coins on. I am sure a lot of people are sitting on hundreds of coins, so all this is going to do is insure a higher resale price, which in turn might cause them to sell out faster.

Well I mean... a lot of people is still less than everyone.

The prices online shouldn't be too high since you can currently get an imported one for $32. Nintendo offers theirs for like $25 so it should be similar.

Nice on that charging cradle. I dont think it is too much seeing as how you can't get these at retail, and it's free because no money is coming out of my pocket for it. If you look at it as an uncommon collectors' item, 500 coins is nothing. Ultimately though, I've been needing an XL cradle because McTendo was too cheap to include one this time. Only now, I dont have to buy the generic one with real money; instead ill go for the rare one with virtual money.

Nintendo sells them for $19 dollars.

I'm going with yellow to match my Pikachu XL.  That is, of course, assuming I'll actually get a chance to grab one.  Anyone have any idea as to what time Ninty usually adds items to CN?  I've got to go in to work at 10 a.m. EST, so if it isn't before then I may be out of luck.

Just a quick question... If I used my reward coins to buy a Wii VC game, and it has a Wii U VC equivalent, I can upgrade the game in the Wii U eShop to get the Wii U functionality. I guess the next logical question would be, if there are games up on Club Nintendo (such a Super Mario Kart now), when those games (I assume inevitably) receive Wii U incarnations, I will be able to upgrade them for the going rate?

I'm trying to upgrade my Wii U arcade selection but I'd like to do it in the smartest way possible and considering I have a lot of reward coins, I think that may be the best way. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Yes, that works...sort of. You'll be able to upgrade them for a small fee ($1 - $1.50 I believe). I did that with Punch-Out.

Oddly, you still keep the Wii version...so you'll have it in two places at once.

As long as all those dirty casuals can't touch them.

I have an Animal Crossing 3ds XL...should I go with white or green or something else.
I would go green. Would probably really look nice with that system and fits the New Leaf theme.

Wait you can have them both at the same places? I thought you would have to transfer them to the wii u and you can't have them on you wii?

I'm planning on getting the Zelda 3ds XL on or around Black Friday...  Wonder if the charge cradle will be standard black or zelda-fied.  If it isn't, that green cradle is gonna take some of the 900+ coins.

I wish the golden nunchuk came back :(

What? The XL doesn't come with a cradle... some of them don't even have chargers (or other regions anyway. Don't pay attention to everyone in the US).

Normally when I enter a code, I get one of these three scenarios:

1) It worked. Points added.

2) I already entered the code so the message "The PIN you entered has already been registered. Each PIN may only be registered once" pops up.

3) I mistyped the code so the message "Your PIN or serial number is invalid" pops up.

When I enter my latest code, I get no message and no points. CN support is of no help. So I'll put the code here under one condition. Please report back what happens when you enter the code. I want to know if anyone can get it to work or at least a message saying what's up.

Code is PZ4-FM5V-K6KC-VTJ

Good luck!

I tried it without being signed in and it worked, but when I signed in I got the exact same scenario as you. The code is for Donkey Kong Country Returns so it wouldn't have worked on my account anyway. No idea what's up with that code.

I just tried it and nothing happens as well.

I have 3200 coins.  I can't decide what to get so I'm just going to go all out and get all 5 different colors.  Line them up and use a different 1 every week night and complain I can't get 2 more different colors for the weekend..

Hey, I figured what the heck and tried it just now, figure the same would happen since you and 2 others said it didn't work....

It just worked for me. :(

I kinda feel bad, no idea why it wouldn't work for anyone else but thank you for dropping the code

Don't feel bad. I dropped it so I could a) try to figure out what was going on and b) get those points used. Glad a CAG could get points out of it.

Edit: And thanks to the others for reporting back.

Did you already have the title registered previously under that account? It's limit 1 game title's PIN per account with the exception being family accounts. Users under a family account can redeem 1 PIN per game title for each account. Up to 7 additional accounts can be created under a family account for a total of 8 accounts. Family accounts share coins but can only order 1 Elite reward regardless of the number of individual accounts created under the family account.

With that in mind, there are 5 scenarios with my comments.

1. Valid PIN and not redeemed by anyone. Can be redeemed by your account.

2. Valid PIN and not redeemed by anyone but a PIN for this game title has been previously redeemed by your account. Limit 1 title redemption per account. Either redeem by using a family account's additional user or by creating a whole new account (not family account).

3. Valid PIN but has been redeemed by someone else already. Each PIN can only be used once.

4. Invalid PIN. Check for typos during entry.

5. Valid PIN but not for your region. You can only redeem PIN for games from your region.

It sounds like you ran into #2. It will look like you just refreshed the page as you don't get any type of message.

For those that are wondering what color charging cradle to get, I know I personally would not try to match the same color (red 3DSXL to red charging cradle, for example).  If the colors were slightly off that would bug me incessantly, probably better to complimentary color match it instead.

I'm still having problems deciding what will work with the Zelda XL, I'm not really feeling the green with it. White should be a safe bet.
Same boat man, I have a Black XL so I guess white it is for me. Im not going to pay $25 for the black one.

I really glad that Nintendo is giving us an opportunity to get the XL charging cradle.

Hopefully they have enough of these to fill demand. I'm going to be getting a blue one but if that is not available I will probably go green.

Lol I already have 3, and I only have 2 systems. I just want the extra color for the heck of it.

90% sure im doing Yellow/Black/Red. Or I might get White instead of Black, since its exclusive

I just signed up for Club Nintendo...they really recycle these games? There should be some more compelling reasons to sign up. I guess it's ok though because the games are free.

nice!  I keep wanting that shirt but can't pull the trigger.  I wish I would have had enough coins at the time when it was 300 last year.

The colors of the cradle reminds me of lego colors.  I'll probably end up using my Pokémon X red XL as my 3ds system and will grab the red one.  The red XL on the green looks too Christmas-y to me.  Not feeling the other colors.
