[customspoiler=Basic FAQ]
-Basic Info/Overview
For those that don't know Club Nintendo is Nintendo's loyalty program of sorts. When you buy a Nintendo Console/Handheld, or a Nintendo published game, you get a pin that you can enter online to earn points. These points can then be redeemed for games, accesories, and collectable items. If you earn enough points in a Club year (300 for gold and 600 for platinum, which each have their own reward), you also receive a free bonus only available to a select few. You can read the full list of eligible titles, as well as their point value, here.

-How do I get coins for digital purchases?
In order to earn coins on any digital games you purchase on Wii/WiiU/3DS/DSi, you will first need to link you Club Nintendo account to your system. Instruction for doing so can be found here.

-Can I play the Wii games on my Wii-U?
Yes, but as of now, only in Wii mode. Native Wii U support might be added later on, but will most likely require the typical $1-$1.50 fee to transfer over.

-How do I play Wii games on Wii U
You will need to enter Wii mode on your Wii U. Instructions on doing so can be found http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/features_wii_menu.jsp?menu=wii_shop&submenu=wup-wiishop-ht-redeem-code"]here.

- If I don't spend coins for the entire year long period, do they carry over?
Yes, you can keep your coins past the Club Nintendo year they are redeemed in. However they only count toward gold or platinum status for the Nintendo year (june 31st-july 1st) they are redeemed in. After two years old points do expire, so make sure to spend them before then. You can check Coin balance information while, logged in, at the top of the page.

- Is there a list of previous rewards for people who accumulated a lot of coins? Similar to Square Enix's Ultimate Tier?
The extra rewards for Club Nintendo are for those that accumulate enough points to hit Gold or Platinum status (300 and 600 points, respectively). If you reach the required number of points in a year, Nintendo will automatically send you your reward, with no cost to you or your points.

- Does the list of eligible games update as the games come out or on some sort of schedule?
The list will be updated before the game comes out, do to things like Pre-Purchase bonus points. Any game you can buy, should already be on the list and able to redeem.

- When do they typically announce the prizes for Gold and Platinum?
Generally at the end of a Club Nintendo year, but don't expect it anytime soon. Usually it will take at least several months for them to ship it out.

- Is there anyway to enter multiple copies of the same game or device?
They have an option in the settings to make your account a family account, which means it can have sub-accounts that allows you to register multiple copies of games. The coins from all the sub-accounts all end up in the same main account coin collection.

- How does the site show what balance of coins you have to spend versus your total towards Gold/Platinum?
At the top right of the screen you can see the coin counter. The big number is your total coin amount, and the bar underneath is your progress to gold or platinum status. The number needed to advance is displayed directly above said bar. Redeeming your coins does not affect this counter, as it is only reset at the end of the year.

- How can I tell if a code is valid without redeeming it?
If you want to check if a code has already been registered, without registering it yourself, all you need to do is try entering the code while you are logged out. It will tell you the name of the game, as well as how many points it is worth, without activating it.[/customspoiler]

Let me know if I missed anything or if something breaks!

Finally got a response back from CN support:

Thanks for contacting us about the Nintendo 3DS XL Charging Cradle. I can certainly understand your interest in this Club Nintendo reward. Please note that this reward was produced in limited quantities, so it is unlikely that we’ll be getting more in stock.  I will, however, document your interest in this particular reward on the record of feedback for this item.  If additional supplies become available again in the future, we’ll be sure to update the Rewards section of Club Nintendo (https://club.nintendo.com/rewards.do).  Since we'll be unable to alert you if this happens, we ask that you check back periodically.

Really wanted this, but I'm not spending $20+ for one...oh well.

My only "complaint" with the Club Nintendo stuff is that we don't get enough of the cool physical items that Japan gets. I hoard my coins and wait for unique things like the gold nunchuck... That's all I got from there, except for when my coins were going to expire and grabbed some Luigi folders. And I would gladly part with even more coins than Japan paid just to get that stuff, although I know that would be a source of irritation and complaints from many here in the U.S.

I don't really like the games for coins thing, unless they are *Exclusive*. Don't give me the same games that can be bought elsewhere... maybe that's where you release some formerly Japanese only games.

On a related note, did anyone else find it funny they took the time to make a halloween theme that would go up for a day, but can't find the time to restock items or even avoid fiascos like this?
Yeah, I noticed the halloween theme (checked on CN that morning before it was updated), it was a cute touch that was ultimately useless and probably not noticed by many anyways (it's not like you have a reason to check CN every day...).

In terms of the validity and cost of the program, I wouldn't be surprised if the US Club Nintendo website (which includes updating and product delivery) was managed by like three or four people. One (maybe two) programmer(s) to set up the ITBs and manage the website, with two (maybe three) people in charge of order fulfillment, probably a part time side job (except for these item launches, I'm sure they worked on them all day).

This isn't including the manufacturing and bulk delivery of the prizes of course, but that doesn't take day to day management anyways, and is more than likely handled by Japan's CN department dispersing the items to the US. There is probably much more man power over at Japan's CN, which would also explain why they usually have more valuable / unique items more frequently.

It would explain why they have been pushing the digital rewards and keep so few physical items in stock. This is just a theory, of course.

Hey everyone. Just bought a Wii U and got some points of registering it and thinking of grabbing Mario Kart but I noticed its available until Nov 3rd which pretty much means a new game is going to come out, right?

Anyone got a idea what it is?

That is correct.

The next game will be disappointing.

Lol. Do you mind being a little more detailed? What game is it? Are you saying grab mario kart while I got the chance?

And these "Wii Rewards" can be played on Wii U right?

Thanks for the help.
I don't know what information you're expecting us to have, but I sincerely doubt anyone on CAG knows what the next games will be. However, these games have historically sucked, so it stands to reason the next games will too.

They can or you can pay a small fee to upgrade them.

Lol, no one knows for sure but they're pretty much on a cycle. If you're interested in MK then you might as well grab it since the chances of something better coming along aren't all that high. As for your other question, I believe you can but it has to be done through the Wii menu - but others would know better than I so don't quote me on that.

Oh, I apologize. I wasn't trying to offend you. It's just you kind of made it out to sound like you knew which game it was going to be by saying it sucked.

Again, sorry.

It's admiralvic, that's how all his posts are regardless of the situation and why we love him. He's one of those people who I really hope looks like his avatar because if he isn't really a short, surly, grey haired, mustachioed Bruce Campbell then I won't know what to believe.

They cancelled all of my "free" ones. My legit one still says "preparing" but I still have all my coins.

What happens if I spend my coins tomorrow? They cancel the cradle I'm assuming? Or just won't let me make a new order?

Be our guinea pig, this has never happened before.

Though to be safe I'd wait until the cradle has shipped.

Anyone elses Cradles not ship yet? My Red shipped like 2-3 days ago, but the Yellow is still preparing (Despite the red being on backorder the whole time).

Gonna be so mad if that one gets cancelled, since its the one I wanted most

I think certain colors are shipping first. My red one has already shipped as well.

I wish they would do some more repeating. Would it kill them to put up Doc Luis' Punch Out? Like others (I'm sure) I waited to see what the first year platinum prizes would be only to find out you had to go in blind and hope for the best. Had I known I would have registered but I misunderstood the program. Would it be that hard to put that mini game up for purchase with coins? Or just let me pick it for the annual prize again! Ugh!

That probably would. Platinum prizes are suppose to be special rewards that only the most "loyal" of customers are entitled to. By offering one of the rewards for coins, it really undercuts the whole value of getting platinum and it would irk me that they turned something special into a common reward. Especially since Nintendo makes this very clear...

WHAT IS ELITE STATUS?

Club Nintendo members with super Coin-earning power can become Elite Status members. Earn 300 Coins between July 1st and June 30th to earn Gold Status, or 600 Coins to earn Platinum Status. Reach either of these milestones to get an exclusive FREE gift, only available to those with Elite Status.

Home Baked Chicken is the answer to your problem my friend. Just gotta get a Western American Dryed version of it, and you're good to go.

November Rewards games (expire Dec 8th):

Metroid - 3DS     150 coins

Dillon's Rolling Western - 3DS     200 coins

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - Wii      150 coins

Art Style: CUBELLO - Wii           150 coins

New games are up now, big update is the first time LttP has been offered on CN (as well as Dillon's Rolling Western):

:wii: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - 150 Coins

:wii: Art Style: Cubello - 150 Coins

:3ds: Metroid - 150 Coins

:3ds: Dillon's Rolling Western - 200 Coins

Edit: Barely beat out.  Also, was this the first time for Metroid to be offered as well?  I know Metroid II has been offered a few times, but if that is the case, this is the first month to have three new games offered together in a long time, pretty good if you ask me.

Finally some good stuff!  Was waiting for LttP to finally come up!  Hopefully they'll do the Wii U version soon too so I can upgrade to that!  One would think so since LttP 2 is coming out soon.  Will be getting LttP and the Western.

Also, you think it would tell NOA something, when every time they put up a new physical reward that it sells out quickly and there's a HUGE demand for it.

So, is ALTTP redeemable on the WiiU?
As said, yes and no. EVERYTHING on the Wii is inherently redeemable on the Wii U...but in Wii mode. If they release it on the Wii U's VC soon then you have to pay a small upgrade fee to play it on the Wii U VC, which considering you got the game for free isn't so bad.

Has anyone actually been able to get Link to the Past yet? When i log onto club nintendo, it shows all 4 games as rewards, but when i go to the rewards page it only shows 2 games, cubello and rolling western. If i try to click on zelda from the main page, it says sorry not available. WTF is going on?
