[customspoiler=Basic FAQ]
-Basic Info/Overview
For those that don't know Club Nintendo is Nintendo's loyalty program of sorts. When you buy a Nintendo Console/Handheld, or a Nintendo published game, you get a pin that you can enter online to earn points. These points can then be redeemed for games, accesories, and collectable items. If you earn enough points in a Club year (300 for gold and 600 for platinum, which each have their own reward), you also receive a free bonus only available to a select few. You can read the full list of eligible titles, as well as their point value, here.

-How do I get coins for digital purchases?
In order to earn coins on any digital games you purchase on Wii/WiiU/3DS/DSi, you will first need to link you Club Nintendo account to your system. Instruction for doing so can be found here.

-Can I play the Wii games on my Wii-U?
Yes, but as of now, only in Wii mode. Native Wii U support might be added later on, but will most likely require the typical $1-$1.50 fee to transfer over.

-How do I play Wii games on Wii U
You will need to enter Wii mode on your Wii U. Instructions on doing so can be found http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/features_wii_menu.jsp?menu=wii_shop&submenu=wup-wiishop-ht-redeem-code"]here[/url].

- If I don't spend coins for the entire year long period, do they carry over?
Yes, you can keep your coins past the Club Nintendo year they are redeemed in. However they only count toward gold or platinum status for the Nintendo year (june 31st-july 1st) they are redeemed in. After two years old points do expire, so make sure to spend them before then. You can check Coin balance information while, logged in, at the top of the page.

- Is there a list of previous rewards for people who accumulated a lot of coins? Similar to Square Enix's Ultimate Tier?
The extra rewards for Club Nintendo are for those that accumulate enough points to hit Gold or Platinum status (300 and 600 points, respectively). If you reach the required number of points in a year, Nintendo will automatically send you your reward, with no cost to you or your points.

- Does the list of eligible games update as the games come out or on some sort of schedule?
The list will be updated before the game comes out, do to things like Pre-Purchase bonus points. Any game you can buy, should already be on the list and able to redeem.

- When do they typically announce the prizes for Gold and Platinum?
Generally at the end of a Club Nintendo year, but don't expect it anytime soon. Usually it will take at least several months for them to ship it out.

- Is there anyway to enter multiple copies of the same game or device?
They have an option in the settings to make your account a family account, which means it can have sub-accounts that allows you to register multiple copies of games. The coins from all the sub-accounts all end up in the same main account coin collection.

- How does the site show what balance of coins you have to spend versus your total towards Gold/Platinum?
At the top right of the screen you can see the coin counter. The big number is your total coin amount, and the bar underneath is your progress to gold or platinum status. The number needed to advance is displayed directly above said bar. Redeeming your coins does not affect this counter, as it is only reset at the end of the year.

- How can I tell if a code is valid without redeeming it?
If you want to check if a code has already been registered, without registering it yourself, all you need to do is try entering the code while you are logged out. It will tell you the name of the game, as well as how many points it is worth, without activating it.[/customspoiler]

Let me know if I missed anything or if something breaks!

After this lackluster month of digital offerings, I caved and got the Zelda 3DS case.  I think the Dillon's Rolling Western / LttP month was the last big CN month for me for digital games until they start filling out the Wii U offerings a bit more.

How has f-zero held up? Are the 3ds games any good for small kids?
It's still fun, but primitive. Rubber band AI, no sprite scaling and completely flat tracks. But, the music is good and tracks are fun. If I hadn't gotten it for .30, I'd pick it up - I normally like older "nostalgia" games. 1080 is not one of them, I pulled out my old N64 and played several games a while back - I really liked it back in the day, the tracks are just straight runs with very little variation and the characters are very generic. The whole game is really generic and depended on the "great" graphics at the time - which of course isn't a feature anymore.

The thing that I usually consider whether a game holds up or not is whether I felt one of the defining features of the game were the graphics, because unless it is a remake that becomes a handicap. Many of the N64 (and Saturn/PS1 games for that matter) are like this, which is why they don't hold up as well as many SNES/NES games. They couldn't wow people with fancy effects as much back in those days, it had to have great gameplay to do well. Great gameplay stands the test of time. A great deal of the N64 games depended on the WOW factor, as I feel many recent games do.

For example, I loved Panzer Dragoon when it came out. I can't enjoy like I used to because the whole thing that grabbed me is now the thing that sticks out like a sore thumb. And the gameplay/generic enemies probably couldn't hold up a remake either. Live by the graphics, die by the graphics.

3DS Game Case, Zelda or Animal Crossing theme, for 400 coins: https://club.nintendo.com/rewards-details/a/44002.do

Hell yes I've been waiting for this to come back. More expensive than before (wasn't it like 250 coins last time?), but I filled up my first one a while ago and have been needing another. It's cool they let you choose a cover theme this time. I went with Zelda.
Awesome thank you. Almost burned some coins on some random game but glad I didn't. Glad I was able to snag one of these. Pretty cool!

Ordered the zelda case,  now i'm trying to decide if I wan't the animal crossing one also or wait/hope for the cradle to come back in

Exactly, fortunately everything they put up this month was way higher more coins than I would give for it.

Hmm I have enough coins to get the Zelda case and I do like collecting Zelda swag.

I just don't see a use for it other then leaving it sealed like the CN Zelda OST.  I already have two mini cases, my cases hold 4 games in each.

Not to mention I prefer leaving my games in their original games at home. My min cases hold enough to travel with and I'd rather not lose that much of a collection at once.

I mean just using it to store games at home would be kind of pointless right?

I wish the charging cradles would come back I could get some good use of that.

I use mine at home for storage. I like having all my games in one place so I can see them all and choose which to play.

I'm trying to decide now if I get the Animal Crossing one as well. I would have to redeem some games I've been saving for the next year's platinum. I'm currently at about 36 3DS games (though 10 of them are unopened), so I've filled my first case and this second case already.

me too I am going to go buy some more coins lol need more points now!

Thanks lilman, ordered a Zelda case.

Digital offerings this month are super weak but the case makes up for it.

Love these things. Been forever since Nintendo offered the case, this will be my fourth one.

Woah that Zelda case is sick!!!! I didn't know that they had a Zelda one that's why I skipped over it I thought it was the normal Animal Crossing one. Now I have to scrounge for more coins because I want 3 of these lol I have wayyy too many 3DS games now.

Anyone else wish Nintendo wasn't so god damn lazy and transparent?

Since F-Zero was the Wii U game, that logically means that the next six games will be Punch-Out!!! Featuring Mr. Dream, Kirby's Adventure, Super Metroid, Yoshi and finally Donkey Kong in this exact order. I am so certain of this, that I am sadly willing to say people can quote me on this.

On a slightly more serious note, it's bullshit like this that makes me wonder if Nintendo applies ANY effort towards understanding their user base or care about what their consumers think and or Club Nintendo in any sense whatsoever.

I hope you're right honestly. I missed those games when they were super cheap and desperately want them but can't bring myself to pay for them knowing they were under a dollar.

Caved and ordered the Animal Crossing case as well (will be my third case). I will now have room for more 3DS games in 2014 ^^

They should do better than put a $1.99 game like cement factory for 100 points.  Very poor points per dollar value.

And while I'm at it, it is unfair that a $300 wii u (or more if you bought it at launch) gives the same number of coins as a 3ds xl.

Grinding out 25 post play surveys to get the rest of the coins for the AC case was just brutal.  Have one of each case ordered now.  Now to start grinding out more coins so that when Vic's right I don't have to do that to get the games.

i would have to agree with this

Was dissapointed when i missed out on the 3ds case last year and was anxious for its return during the first couple of months it was sold out. But now with the zelda and animal crossing case rewards in stock, im now contemplating whether its even worth getting any case at all. Waaah!

I actually just played it recently on snes and was surprised how playable it still is for me. Not sure how much is nostalgia, since it was one of the first snes games that really floored me. I like it better than the later versions. It's still a fun game with good controls on the snes gamepad, not sure how it would feel on wii u.

Ugh, I love these cases, was lucky enough to get one the first time around. I was holding out hoping the Luigi statue might come back, but I'm still 480 coins short. Not sure if I should pull the trigger or not.

Honestly if you're theoretically paying $40 a game and getting around 50 coins with bonuses, is it really worth a $1.99 game?!

Personally, I think CDs are a bad choice, they should offer digital downloads of the OSTs.

Don't forget, though: Club Nintendo only loves Japan. We're their red-headed 3rd son.

In for a Zelda case, surprised it hasn't sold out yet. For those who are still confused like I was when I first saw them: You get 3 different inserts with each case. They should have called it Zelda/Bullet Bill & Animal Crossing/Mario&Luigi. That would make it more obvious.

Got F-Zero based on the feedback here.  I've downloaded and installed it on my Wii U but the points haven't been deducted yet...

I think their system is bugged and they're giving it away for free.

Sweet I had filled up my 3DS case that I got way back in 2012 so I went ahead and ordered the Zelda one since the Animal Crossing one does not catch my eye as much as the Zelda one did.

How is this cheaper than free?
Rewards programs aren't free. More of a promotional thing.

I wouldn't say there aren't free things in life but CN rewards aren't exactly free.

1 CN point is equal to $1.00 USD currency when you factor in CN games only come in 1st party titles which rarely drop from MSRP.

It's really like all these other rewards programs. Its a incentive for consumers to push sales. Which is why CN points on CAG is almost regarded as a currency.

Or in my favored analogy: Japan = Mom; Europe = Hot Mistress; NA = Wife at Home.

It's a little disappointing that one in each set is identical and the other two focus on Mario stuff. The Bullet Bill and Boo ones I actually do like because they're neat and different from the standard Mario stuff you see. The Mario/Luigi card is pretty meh to me.

Well I just ordered a zelda one! Used up all my coins except the ones I'm saving for platinum next year! I wasn't planning on this!

1 CN point is equal to $1.00 USD currency when you factor in CN games only come in 1st party titles which rarely drop from MSRP.

It's really like all these other rewards programs. Its a incentive for consumers to push sales. Which is why CN points on CAG is almost regarded as a currency.
I understand this logic, but I still consider them free. I would have bought my Nintendo games even if they didn't have coins.

And people aren't buying coins at $1.00 a pop. You can get 40 coins for like $3 on a bad day. That's about 8¢ a coin, which is a more real monetary value for coins.

This is can be easily seen when you check the flip rates of certain items... Like cradles going for about $30-40. And Luigi Statues going for $100+
