[customspoiler=Basic FAQ]
-Basic Info/Overview
For those that don't know Club Nintendo is Nintendo's loyalty program of sorts. When you buy a Nintendo Console/Handheld, or a Nintendo published game, you get a pin that you can enter online to earn points. These points can then be redeemed for games, accesories, and collectable items. If you earn enough points in a Club year (300 for gold and 600 for platinum, which each have their own reward), you also receive a free bonus only available to a select few. You can read the full list of eligible titles, as well as their point value, here.

-How do I get coins for digital purchases?
In order to earn coins on any digital games you purchase on Wii/WiiU/3DS/DSi, you will first need to link you Club Nintendo account to your system. Instruction for doing so can be found here.

-Can I play the Wii games on my Wii-U?
Yes, but as of now, only in Wii mode. Native Wii U support might be added later on, but will most likely require the typical $1-$1.50 fee to transfer over.

-How do I play Wii games on Wii U
You will need to enter Wii mode on your Wii U. Instructions on doing so can be found http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/features_wii_menu.jsp?menu=wii_shop&submenu=wup-wiishop-ht-redeem-code"]here[/url].

- If I don't spend coins for the entire year long period, do they carry over?
Yes, you can keep your coins past the Club Nintendo year they are redeemed in. However they only count toward gold or platinum status for the Nintendo year (june 31st-july 1st) they are redeemed in. After two years old points do expire, so make sure to spend them before then. You can check Coin balance information while, logged in, at the top of the page.

- Is there a list of previous rewards for people who accumulated a lot of coins? Similar to Square Enix's Ultimate Tier?
The extra rewards for Club Nintendo are for those that accumulate enough points to hit Gold or Platinum status (300 and 600 points, respectively). If you reach the required number of points in a year, Nintendo will automatically send you your reward, with no cost to you or your points.

- Does the list of eligible games update as the games come out or on some sort of schedule?
The list will be updated before the game comes out, do to things like Pre-Purchase bonus points. Any game you can buy, should already be on the list and able to redeem.

- When do they typically announce the prizes for Gold and Platinum?
Generally at the end of a Club Nintendo year, but don't expect it anytime soon. Usually it will take at least several months for them to ship it out.

- Is there anyway to enter multiple copies of the same game or device?
They have an option in the settings to make your account a family account, which means it can have sub-accounts that allows you to register multiple copies of games. The coins from all the sub-accounts all end up in the same main account coin collection.

- How does the site show what balance of coins you have to spend versus your total towards Gold/Platinum?
At the top right of the screen you can see the coin counter. The big number is your total coin amount, and the bar underneath is your progress to gold or platinum status. The number needed to advance is displayed directly above said bar. Redeeming your coins does not affect this counter, as it is only reset at the end of the year.

- How can I tell if a code is valid without redeeming it?
If you want to check if a code has already been registered, without registering it yourself, all you need to do is try entering the code while you are logged out. It will tell you the name of the game, as well as how many points it is worth, without activating it.[/customspoiler]

Let me know if I missed anything or if something breaks!

Should be a slip of paper that with a unique code on it.

I've never registered a Wii U, but you could register a Wii with its serial number, not sure if you can do that with the U, though.
there is no code with Wii U i had to link my Club Nintendo account on the system and it said after I link it I would get a survey but idk where to find it (it isnt in to-do list)

The FAQ on the Club Nintendo thing for that says it could take up to two days for it to appear in your to-do list.

Got that tomadachi code too. I'm kind of excited to try it. I think I'll make some creepy miis for the occasion.

On a side note, today I opened a brand new DS game & it looked like it had been opened before. The wi-fi booklet was crushed. I guess it's a good thing big lots game section is gone because they were selling re-wrapped games.

No Tomodachi code here. I would be hurt, but I am clearly not the target demographic.
No code here and I usually do play the games like Animal Crossing/Harvest Moon, wonder how they picked who got them. I'm not sure it's a game I'd buy day one since it looks so strange but a demo would definitely be something I want to try to see.

According to the email I got it because I registered Animal Crossing New Leaf and am a platinum member. I guess they picked randomly from that group of people who did the "intent to buy survey".

Evidently people who get the demo will get some kind of in-game bonus item if they buy the game on release day.

You know why I'm considering the jump from SNES to N64 not a huge one? Format.

Nintendo hobbled themselves severely when they continued to go the cartridge route. Even with that memory addon that very few people even understood, they just couldn't handle some games from a pure technological standpoint. We all know Nintendo is a master at using what they have in new ways, but how many RPGs made it to the N64? Really I just remember a few shooters, a Doom port that wasn't very good, and the single best wrestling game ever made (No Mercy). How many other games needed drastic redesigns just to fit in one cart, while Sony could made games with 2, 3, even 4 discs? Plus, sadly, the carts cost more to make than a CD.

And since we're way off topic at this point, might I put some idle speculation toward a new XL/2DS promotion after June.... Japan seems to have another free game promotion. Maybe if we're lucky, NA will follow.
No Mercy, for all of its popularity and success, was gimped compared to its competition on the PS1. It was some HUGE deal that they had a ladder match in the game--forget about having Hell in a Cell or anything beyond 4 players in the ring. I loved the game and didn't even play much of the Smackdown series until 2006, but I remember back then being puzzled by yet another cart-based system.

Depressing. I did the intend to buy for ACNL, bought on release day, hit platinum and did the intend to buy for Tomodachi Life. =\

You guys think club nintendo will do something for E3 since the next wave of titles happens the first day of E3?

Not sure if this topic was discussed.

1) E3 starts on June 10th and while stuff happens early, expecting a Club Nintendo reveal (games change on the 8th) does not make sense on any level.

2) Nintendo is not doing a press briefing this year, so doing something special for that would be out of place.

3) While I can understand wishful thinking, try to keep it realistic. The most "special" they could realistically announce would be something like Earthbound being offered and even then that would seem terribly awkward to do. Beyond maybe upping the title quality (extremely unlikely at any E3 ever as Nintendo couldn't offer the old as dirt games as platinum / gold rewards), which even then would probably cost a fortune (if a cleaning cloth can cost 400, I hate to see what Nintendo thinks a retail game is worth...) anyway.

Wait... a code for a demo or a code of the full game?  Did I miss something?  I did all the ACNL (plus previous iterations of Rune Factory and Harvest Moons).  Wonder how they did this.  Prolly like the XBL snafu some months ago.  Free stuff for some people.. does nothing but make the other 90% say no fair.

It is a Demo Only and last less then 30 minutes

I don't fully agree with every point you put, but this is club nintendo. They haven't done anything great since the Luigi Figure, which wasn't that good but "free" is "free".

I need 20 coins for platinum, anything free I can do?  I've seen people post stuff about it before but never got around to it...

If you have a 3DS, Rusty's Real Deal Baseball, Steel Diver: Sub Wars and Pokemon Bank (and Transporter) are all free and get you 5-coin surveys right away, with 10-coin surveys a month later. However, I think Pokemon Transporter requires you to suscribe to the Bank service ($5 for a year, might require X/Y) before you can get it.

EDIT: If you need another 5 points, 3D Kirby's Adventure (200 coin reward) will do the trick.

You NOW need to subscribe to the PokeBank to get the Transporter. You didn't when they ran the promo in March.

Thank for the tip. I just picked up a 2DS recently and had already played and taken the survay for Rusty's baseball. Just downloaded and played Steel Diver.

You'll need a second Club Nintendo account to get the coins from more than one install of any of the free-to-play games. In fact, one CN account per machine is what the new terms say. Stupid, but that's how they want it.

Welp, my theory was dead wrong. Just popped MK in to play one last round of WFC on the DS & wii, and a message stating the wifi connection service for this software has been discontinued popped up for both. Gotta say, I'm really sad about this. Just got mario kart wii a few weeks ago, & never got a chance to buy brawl in time.

Hope some fan decides they can't live without MK Wii & Brawl & makes a server for both, like the fans of various PS2 games.

Just remembered my one complaint about Super Metroid, and that is its length. My original playthrough as a kid was probably 10-15 hours, running around, exploring, and collecting upgrades. After 1-2 playthroughs, though, you can beat it in 3-4 hours. I downloaded it last night after work and I'm already in Norfair, will probably beat it tonight.

I wish it had a Hard Mode like Zero Mission.
Are you 100%'ing the game?

I think my first play-through took 27hours+ on my SNES

but who knows how-long i spent trying to perfect the wall jumping technique. (I almost bought an ascii controller for the turbo bomb feature)

Yeah I also tried around the same time you made this post and saw the message. :( Very sad indeed. I did get to play a final session that morning on the 20th though.

¿somebody notices this?

Super Metroid can be downloaded from Nintendo eShop on the Wii U™ console for $7.99. For a limited time (until June 6, 2014) Club Nintendo members can get a download code for just 200 Coins.

3D Classics: Kirby's Adventure can be downloaded* from the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS systems for $6.99. For a limited time only (until June 6, 2014) Club Nintendo members can get the download code for just 200 Coins.

the same for all 3 digital rewards except MK64, so maybe prizes will change earlier... who knows?

I think I can safely say that Club Nintendo is just as clueless as to when these games will change as we are.

Yeah I also tried around the same time you made this post and saw the message. :( Very sad indeed. I did get to play a final session that morning on the 20th though.
I had work early yesterday, so my last memory of the game was playing at 3am that morning with two asshole russian hackers who spammed blue shells to anyone who got in first, giant mushrooms so they could get to the front, & then dropped bomb-ombs all over the courses. Totally ruined it for me...I turned the system right off cuz I kept playing with them, & didn't have enough time that morning...*sigh*

The demo will most likely be available to everyone come June 6. While I was playing it, one of my mii characters said "Tomagachi Life is available to purchase now". I doubt they mean the pre-order so only one other theory left. :p

Does anyone have any guesses as to what the new titles will be?  I'm hoping for one of the n64 zeldas on the wii since that seems to be what they're offering on there.  I'd hate to spend the coins now and miss out on that but with them expiring at the end of June I'm kinda torn.

I don't think anyone really has any educated guesses what new titles will be available.

However there is usually a small window of time after the new rewards are put up that the old rewards are still available if you enter the URL for the old reward page.

If you are really torn on spending/saving the coins this month then I'd just be around between 12:00 - 12:30 EST on the Monday after the listed date on the rewards page (in this case Monday June 9th) and see if the new rewards are more to your liking.

Thanks for the tip!.  Mario Kart isn't bad but your trick makes it a great fallback instead of oh I better get this in case the next one is lousy.

Sounds like my kind of lobby! LOL. Man... it's already been 3 days and change and I already miss the online and hackers like crazy... :'(

any idea what the gold and platinum rewards are
Gold:

Probably a choice between a 2014-2015 calander and a free digital game (3DSWare, GB, NES, SNES.. or even GBA)

Platinum:

A choice between a two or three piece poster set with special graphics and maybe a deck of cards, OST CD or the like.. or a choice of the Gold rewards instead.

I've done platinum since 2012 and have always opted for the non-poster item.. Mario playing cards in 2012 and the Majora's Mask 2-disc OST CD in 2013. The posters are nice but I thought the other items were the better choice. Can't wait to see what we get this year! :)

I've only hit platinum once and that was back I 2010 got the figurine its pretty sweet hit gold twice and for things that were out of my control I never got to collect on them. so yeah I'm hoping for something nice too. I bought the Zelda posters for 400 when they had those and they was a lot better quality than I was expecting their printed on photo paper. but I'm rambling thanks for he info :D
