[customspoiler=Basic FAQ]
-Basic Info/Overview
For those that don't know Club Nintendo is Nintendo's loyalty program of sorts. When you buy a Nintendo Console/Handheld, or a Nintendo published game, you get a pin that you can enter online to earn points. These points can then be redeemed for games, accesories, and collectable items. If you earn enough points in a Club year (300 for gold and 600 for platinum, which each have their own reward), you also receive a free bonus only available to a select few. You can read the full list of eligible titles, as well as their point value, here.

-How do I get coins for digital purchases?
In order to earn coins on any digital games you purchase on Wii/WiiU/3DS/DSi, you will first need to link you Club Nintendo account to your system. Instruction for doing so can be found here.

-Can I play the Wii games on my Wii-U?
Yes, but as of now, only in Wii mode. Native Wii U support might be added later on, but will most likely require the typical $1-$1.50 fee to transfer over.

-How do I play Wii games on Wii U
You will need to enter Wii mode on your Wii U. Instructions on doing so can be found http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/features_wii_menu.jsp?menu=wii_shop&submenu=wup-wiishop-ht-redeem-code"]here[/url].

- If I don't spend coins for the entire year long period, do they carry over?
Yes, you can keep your coins past the Club Nintendo year they are redeemed in. However they only count toward gold or platinum status for the Nintendo year (june 31st-july 1st) they are redeemed in. After two years old points do expire, so make sure to spend them before then. You can check Coin balance information while, logged in, at the top of the page.

- Is there a list of previous rewards for people who accumulated a lot of coins? Similar to Square Enix's Ultimate Tier?
The extra rewards for Club Nintendo are for those that accumulate enough points to hit Gold or Platinum status (300 and 600 points, respectively). If you reach the required number of points in a year, Nintendo will automatically send you your reward, with no cost to you or your points.

- Does the list of eligible games update as the games come out or on some sort of schedule?
The list will be updated before the game comes out, do to things like Pre-Purchase bonus points. Any game you can buy, should already be on the list and able to redeem.

- When do they typically announce the prizes for Gold and Platinum?
Generally at the end of a Club Nintendo year, but don't expect it anytime soon. Usually it will take at least several months for them to ship it out.

- Is there anyway to enter multiple copies of the same game or device?
They have an option in the settings to make your account a family account, which means it can have sub-accounts that allows you to register multiple copies of games. The coins from all the sub-accounts all end up in the same main account coin collection.

- How does the site show what balance of coins you have to spend versus your total towards Gold/Platinum?
At the top right of the screen you can see the coin counter. The big number is your total coin amount, and the bar underneath is your progress to gold or platinum status. The number needed to advance is displayed directly above said bar. Redeeming your coins does not affect this counter, as it is only reset at the end of the year.

- How can I tell if a code is valid without redeeming it?
If you want to check if a code has already been registered, without registering it yourself, all you need to do is try entering the code while you are logged out. It will tell you the name of the game, as well as how many points it is worth, without activating it.[/customspoiler]

Let me know if I missed anything or if something breaks!

Just went to check and found the email. I used one code and have three left. I owe CAG for getting me platinum status the last couple of years so first 3 people to PM will get a code!

Edit: All three gone

Have fun!

I redeemed points for star fox 64 last week. Just now trying to use my code, says it's not active to use or something, anyone having this problem?

After going through a TON of pages here i get the idea that these codes may be just slightly in demand :) Just checked my email and i got the 4 codes. I have no use for any of them, and would LOVE for 4 fellow CAG's and NOT a dirty, stinkin, non CAG lurker to get them so the first 4 CAG's to send me a PM will have a code!!! :)

EDIT: I am all tapped out, but i want to congratulate the 4 lucky souls who got em....

I have 2 codes left, but I'm gonna be that guy and see if anyone wants to trade something for them

If that turns up nothing, I'll give them away sometime later on

I'd like a code if anyone would be kind enough to give me one. Missed platinum by 50 coins this year, simply forgot about the deadline. Didn't regret it much until now.

PM sent. I also have one more code to give away, not asking for anything in return. Just send me a PM!

Edit: That went fast!

I'm curious on how Nintendo went about sending the codes. I hit Platinum pretty early on last year, and nothing.

If anyone has an extra, I'd dig it.
from what I've read, you had to have had platinum last year, have registered a 3ds system (or maybe just a game?), and opted-in to receiving communications from nintendo through club nintendo in order to have a chance at being selected

Only a chance... :(

I've been Platinum for like three years in a row and meet all those requirements and didn't get a code. I've already played Smash bros plenty at Pax but it would have been nice to get it a week early. I'm not willing to pay someone $5 bucks just to play a limited demo though.

Following from the post on Nintendo's website, I feel that more codes will be sent out soon. It says that everyone who was platinum this last year, registered a 3DS or 3DS software, and has signed up for Club Nintendo e-mails should get one. I'm trying to get into Club Nintendo to check that third thing but the site seems to be having issues. Hopefully they just staggered the e-mails.

Of course, I'd also really appreciate it if someone pm'd me a code just in case the person who typed up the website got it wrong. :)

Who knows. I did all three of those this past year and didn't get codes.

I finally got in to accounts page and it shows that I, too, have elected for e-mails from Club Nintendo so I meet the requirements. However, looking at the status history page, the website does not have my previous elite years going all the way back to the Mario Statue. My guess is that the system has some flaw that did not correctly identify the Elite Members. While trying to get in, I did get a maintenance message once so (fingers crossed) hopefully they are fixing the issue and will send out new codes tomorrow.

Still if anyone has an extra, I would greatly appreciate it.

Are people still receiving e-mails for this? I was a Platinum member last year and haven't received anything.
I've seen one person on another website post that they received their codes several hours after the first people posted that they had gotten theirs but that has also been a couple of hours from where we are now.

I really hate seeming like a freeloader, but does anyone have a spare Smash Bros. 3DS code they wouldn't mind parting with?  My little brother and I share a Club Nintendo account, and we were platinum and subscribed to receive Nintendo's email promotions, but still didn't receive any emails with demo codes.  I sat on the support line for over an hour and got nowhere... which is really frustrating considering that I have over 2500 coins sitting there and would gladly part with a few to play the demo, even though I shouldn't have to...

So, if anyone wanted to help me out, I could shoot a 1 month XBL, 1 month Hulu, and/or 1 month Epix trial your way.

Just thought ask in case anyone feels like helping out the little brother of a fellow CAG. :)

I'm still hoping that more e-mails will be sent soon, but my advice is to hang out in here awhile and someone will probably be kind enough to share some codes like SovereignNX-73811 was to me.

Mur was looking to trade for some XBL earlier. You could message him and see if he still has a code. :)

Alright, CAG vet looking to get me an early Smash demo code. Who's got me covered? Open to trade or purchase if the price is right... Shoot me a PM?

I don't remember it being there a few days ago, but Kirby superstar Wii U is 200 coins in addition to the 7 others on the front page...

I have to recognize all the people in this thread that have been hooking members up with demos.  It is a fun demo and I'm glad that w00dm4n hooked me up.  Your generosity is appreciated.

The demo is actually very fun.  Should have put final destination as stage tho!!! Never got into the Wii smash but LOVED melee! I'm a bit rusty but still beat lvl 9 pc's consistently. Only thing I hate is the dodge when holding R. Seems I have to press the direction I want to go in pretty hard.

You can change the stage (in this case, Battlefield) to the omega version of it (which is basically Final Destination minus the music and backgrounds).
