[customspoiler=Basic FAQ]
-Basic Info/Overview
For those that don't know Club Nintendo is Nintendo's loyalty program of sorts. When you buy a Nintendo Console/Handheld, or a Nintendo published game, you get a pin that you can enter online to earn points. These points can then be redeemed for games, accesories, and collectable items. If you earn enough points in a Club year (300 for gold and 600 for platinum, which each have their own reward), you also receive a free bonus only available to a select few. You can read the full list of eligible titles, as well as their point value, here.

-How do I get coins for digital purchases?
In order to earn coins on any digital games you purchase on Wii/WiiU/3DS/DSi, you will first need to link you Club Nintendo account to your system. Instruction for doing so can be found here.

-Can I play the Wii games on my Wii-U?
Yes, but as of now, only in Wii mode. Native Wii U support might be added later on, but will most likely require the typical $1-$1.50 fee to transfer over.

-How do I play Wii games on Wii U
You will need to enter Wii mode on your Wii U. Instructions on doing so can be found http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/features_wii_menu.jsp?menu=wii_shop&submenu=wup-wiishop-ht-redeem-code"]here[/url].

- If I don't spend coins for the entire year long period, do they carry over?
Yes, you can keep your coins past the Club Nintendo year they are redeemed in. However they only count toward gold or platinum status for the Nintendo year (june 31st-july 1st) they are redeemed in. After two years old points do expire, so make sure to spend them before then. You can check Coin balance information while, logged in, at the top of the page.

- Is there a list of previous rewards for people who accumulated a lot of coins? Similar to Square Enix's Ultimate Tier?
The extra rewards for Club Nintendo are for those that accumulate enough points to hit Gold or Platinum status (300 and 600 points, respectively). If you reach the required number of points in a year, Nintendo will automatically send you your reward, with no cost to you or your points.

- Does the list of eligible games update as the games come out or on some sort of schedule?
The list will be updated before the game comes out, do to things like Pre-Purchase bonus points. Any game you can buy, should already be on the list and able to redeem.

- When do they typically announce the prizes for Gold and Platinum?
Generally at the end of a Club Nintendo year, but don't expect it anytime soon. Usually it will take at least several months for them to ship it out.

- Is there anyway to enter multiple copies of the same game or device?
They have an option in the settings to make your account a family account, which means it can have sub-accounts that allows you to register multiple copies of games. The coins from all the sub-accounts all end up in the same main account coin collection.

- How does the site show what balance of coins you have to spend versus your total towards Gold/Platinum?
At the top right of the screen you can see the coin counter. The big number is your total coin amount, and the bar underneath is your progress to gold or platinum status. The number needed to advance is displayed directly above said bar. Redeeming your coins does not affect this counter, as it is only reset at the end of the year.

- How can I tell if a code is valid without redeeming it?
If you want to check if a code has already been registered, without registering it yourself, all you need to do is try entering the code while you are logged out. It will tell you the name of the game, as well as how many points it is worth, without activating it.[/customspoiler]

Let me know if I missed anything or if something breaks!

Eh...

Last year the downloadable games were a gold prize and Nintendo offered games worth up to $10 dollars. This year they're offering the same tier of people games worth up to $5 dollars, so it has definitely declined. Anyway, the games are only worth $30 if you want the games worth $30. Thats not going to be everyone on this site, since Game & Wario was <$15 a few times and I am certain you could have found a good deal on DKCR3D in the past year or years if you want to be semantics since it's a port. If you have both games or don't want one of them, the prize quickly drops to $15 then $10 then either G&W for points or $5. Furthermore, many of the past year prizes might not have been popular, but I recall them selling for around $15 when they were new. This is only a few dollars less than what DKCR or Game & Wario trade in for, though certainly more than what people have offered me for my platinum prize (most offers have been $7 - $8 dollars).

The funny thing is that many people would be delighted to get figures and they offer more games than probably everything else combined x 3 or 4. If you want the obvious truth, Nintendo needs to make Club Nintendo worthwhile for people to stop complaining, but Nintendo is hellbent on playing it safe. Instead of offering bold games that could result in a lost sale like NES Remix, they instead stick to the same classic they've rereleased 9 times already and holds no value for someone thats owned a Wii U for a year. Instead of pushing products and trying to hype things, they stick to the classics that everyone has played. Sure there are a few exceptions, but for the most part I would say everyone here has played 60%+ of the digital games they've offered in one form or another.

I think the other part of the problem is that Nintendo goes from one extreme to another with no rhyme or rhythm. Take the GBA Ambassador games, how come Nintendo can literally give away 10 special games that are still not for sale, yet platinum reward members get offered $5 - $15 dollar games? Why do an awesome promotion for Mario Kart 8, which could drum up interest in the program and then give the people that put in more time / money / effort something less? I think these are the type of questions people ask themselves and it's hard to really get an answer.
With the ambassador pass they pissed off a kot of early adopters with the $50 price drop at the time and they were just giving those games out because of the backlash they were going to get. Some of the games aren't exclusive neither as some of the have been on club nintendo already like legend of Zelda or super Mario bros.

Just been skimming this thread since it's been pages of code stuff but the AC New Leaf posters are back if anyone wants to spend 500 coins on them.

It was "down for maintenance" early yesterday morning, as I was trying to login to complete some post-play surveys.

But, a couple hours after that, it was up and going just fine for me.

It's online. I just did a survey.

Wish they'd restock some physical rewards. I'm totally not interested in digital games for this.
Its been like that for 2-3 months now. I lucked out getting the kirby medal which was
Like a year ago now.
Missed the Luigi statue since I didnt have enough coins. Also got the Zelda MM soundtrack from platinum last year.
probably my best pick ups on CN.

I kind of want that original zelda so I dont have to break out the NES and blow
Into cartridges and deal with skipping/freezing issues. Same time i kind of want to wait
For new physical items but from the looks of things lately CN is making cut backs to the
Program.

cleared cache and club nintendo is working for me again YAY. too bad the rewards are still crap although I enjoy the digital games. I have given up on new physical rewards and am just preventing my coins from expiring.

I have 3 codes if anyone is interested no steam games please...i do humble bundle too i know the dealo = ) i would rather club nintendo points and amazon credit pm me if interested

Looks like they're doing something new with the club codes.

I just bought Hyrule Warriors and got real confused when I didn't find the usual code on a slip of paper. It ended up being on the inside of the cover art.

They're probably going to do this for everything now, but I hope it doesn't mean the end of cool inside art for 3ds games. It's real neat when they print faces or icons for the holes in the 3ds case.

had a bonus survey from the smash demo for 10 coins at the end it showed new balance and old balance as the same. and the survey is still there to do it again. wtf

Was this for the "special" demo for Platinum members or the regular demo? I didn't get a post-play survey for the CN demo so just checking?

Just an FYI because I don't see it mentioned here, physical & digital Intend To Buy surveys are up for Fantasy Life, Pokemon Art Academy, and (probably the only relevant one) Bayonetta 2, all until October 17th.

Yeah, they did ask if I was playing the CN version or the rregular demo, but they said the survey is only going out to select members, and it had an end date of tomorrow. So i figure if you didin't get it by now they probably won't be doing more.

Nonsense, who doesn't want to learn to draw Pokemon? Fantasy Life hasn't looked bad in the previews I've seen too.

Opened up my hyrule warriors copy after I saw the posts here. What's up with this new CN code distribution...they really expect me to pull out my cover art for the code? My collector OCD is not having that.

Anyone else have the feeling this new way of printing the codes is going to lead to more games being traded in with the cover art missing making it harder to find complete used games at places?

Maybe... >.>

I would probably just go the Velo route and start keeping all the cases. Easier to find the code you want then instead of a giant pile of inserts I suppose.

Ugh I hadn't even thought of that...

I get it's to save money, but I don't see why they can't just print it on the inside of the case if they really want to save money. Less ink, & couldn't be taken out.
Or in the manual...just add a page in there about club nintendo at the end.
Not like it's all that difficult to stick the cover art back on the case.
Honestly I just don't want to get finger prints on the cover art. XD I'm OCD about that.
I'll just bend the case and jot it down, it's just annoying.

I don't think it'll change that much. Not like it's all that difficult to stick the cover art back on the case. It's not like you need to keep it for the code to register, either. And even with those sneaky people who try to steal the covers from Gamestop, just go somewhere else.

I was so confused when I opened Hyrule Warriors. Took me a miniute to find the code. This is gonna make it a little more difficult to keep track of what I have/haven't already registered.

I think the bigger issue is that casual gamers might be less likely to realize CN exists or that there are any kind of incentive programs for buying new games. Nintendo needs all the incentives they cam get.

Was able to get a preowned copy of Hyrule Warriors at GS today. The CN code (inside the cover art) wasn't used so I was able to register it and get the Ganondorf Demon King costume.

Is there any way to check if a code's been used before entering it into your account? I have an extra one that I want to give to someone but I don't want to give them a used or expired one.

Is it used up when you just enter the code, or does the survey have to been taken too?

Go to the CN page and don't log in. Input the code. If nothing happens, it's used. If it's still valid, it will ask you to sign in or join and it will tell you how many points you'll get.
