[customspoiler=Basic FAQ]
-Basic Info/Overview
For those that don't know Club Nintendo is Nintendo's loyalty program of sorts. When you buy a Nintendo Console/Handheld, or a Nintendo published game, you get a pin that you can enter online to earn points. These points can then be redeemed for games, accesories, and collectable items. If you earn enough points in a Club year (300 for gold and 600 for platinum, which each have their own reward), you also receive a free bonus only available to a select few. You can read the full list of eligible titles, as well as their point value, here.

-How do I get coins for digital purchases?
In order to earn coins on any digital games you purchase on Wii/WiiU/3DS/DSi, you will first need to link you Club Nintendo account to your system. Instruction for doing so can be found here.

-Can I play the Wii games on my Wii-U?
Yes, but as of now, only in Wii mode. Native Wii U support might be added later on, but will most likely require the typical $1-$1.50 fee to transfer over.

-How do I play Wii games on Wii U
You will need to enter Wii mode on your Wii U. Instructions on doing so can be found http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/features_wii_menu.jsp?menu=wii_shop&submenu=wup-wiishop-ht-redeem-code"]here[/url].

- If I don't spend coins for the entire year long period, do they carry over?
Yes, you can keep your coins past the Club Nintendo year they are redeemed in. However they only count toward gold or platinum status for the Nintendo year (june 31st-july 1st) they are redeemed in. After two years old points do expire, so make sure to spend them before then. You can check Coin balance information while, logged in, at the top of the page.

- Is there a list of previous rewards for people who accumulated a lot of coins? Similar to Square Enix's Ultimate Tier?
The extra rewards for Club Nintendo are for those that accumulate enough points to hit Gold or Platinum status (300 and 600 points, respectively). If you reach the required number of points in a year, Nintendo will automatically send you your reward, with no cost to you or your points.

- Does the list of eligible games update as the games come out or on some sort of schedule?
The list will be updated before the game comes out, do to things like Pre-Purchase bonus points. Any game you can buy, should already be on the list and able to redeem.

- When do they typically announce the prizes for Gold and Platinum?
Generally at the end of a Club Nintendo year, but don't expect it anytime soon. Usually it will take at least several months for them to ship it out.

- Is there anyway to enter multiple copies of the same game or device?
They have an option in the settings to make your account a family account, which means it can have sub-accounts that allows you to register multiple copies of games. The coins from all the sub-accounts all end up in the same main account coin collection.

- How does the site show what balance of coins you have to spend versus your total towards Gold/Platinum?
At the top right of the screen you can see the coin counter. The big number is your total coin amount, and the bar underneath is your progress to gold or platinum status. The number needed to advance is displayed directly above said bar. Redeeming your coins does not affect this counter, as it is only reset at the end of the year.

- How can I tell if a code is valid without redeeming it?
If you want to check if a code has already been registered, without registering it yourself, all you need to do is try entering the code while you are logged out. It will tell you the name of the game, as well as how many points it is worth, without activating it.[/customspoiler]

Let me know if I missed anything or if something breaks!

Club Nintendo added more physical rewards:

3ds card case : Mario, bowser, Pikmen

Zelda, bullet bill, boo

400 coins Each

NES Remix Shirt: Samus in Mushroom kingdom

700 coins

I wouldn't dare bring those Card Cases outside of my home lest I dare risk losing 18 games at once, or worse, having them all stolen from me at once...

...but I am rather tempted to consolidate my 3DS games into them so I can put the cases into storage and save on shelf space.

Hmm.

Thanks, ordered the game case. Love the last ones they did and they're full with all the cheap DS games I've been picking up.

That Zelda one's identical to the last time though right?

Yeah, they're my home storage for easier access so I can display the cases on my shelf and then I have a smaller 6 game case from Hori for travelling with.

Grabbed both the 3DS card cases. No idea when the next time a nice looking physical reward will be released, so I'm not passing them up. If for nothing else, they'll be a nice addition to my trade list. I love that black Bowser one, I'll probably use that one permanently.

That's the nice thing- these allow you to really condense a collection down if the original boxes just have ugly cover art, or if you find a good deal on older DS games minus their cases. I already owned one, and just picked up 2 more.

Ugh... I wish I was excited about either of the new physical rewards. The shirt is meh. If you're gonna try and make a clever image of Samus in the Mushroom Kingdom then don't put her in an underground level where the colors make it look a whole lot like her own world. I love the art on the game cases, but I've already got a smaller game case and I barely use it. I may just grab one anyway for the art cuz I've got ~1200 coins doing nothing and more codes on the sideline waiting for the next cycle.

Trying to decide if I should grab a second Pikmin case since the Zelda one is identical to the last time.  Kind of want to use the Mario cover with that one in addition to the Pikmin one (though the Bowser one isn't bad either).  I'm just not sure if I'll have 55-72 3/DS games with how much of my 3DS library I've converted to digital.

Thanks for the heads-up, ordered a Pikmin version since I already had a Zelda from last time. Also reminded me that I had surveys expired/expiring.

Hot damn. I was actually on the site earlier today doing post play surveys and didn't even notice that stuff. Ordered the Zelda game case and NES Remix shirt. Who knows the next time something I actually want will show up on here.

is the zelda case the same one they had a while ago? its a broken link PUN INTENDED
Its all the same case, just different covers, but yes its a new zelda cover.

Well, shit. The shirt only goes to extra large. While I'm not as big as I used to be, I have very broad shoulders and can't always wear extra large shirts without ripping them down the back.

Yeah, same for me too. Now that I'm into my 30's certain XL's don't fit anymore due to lifting weights, age, regular activities, etc. Worse comes to worse, I can always cut off the sleeves and it becomes a badass gym tee. Just like my Mass Effect 2 shirt!

Grabbed the two cases.  Debated on the T shirt but decided against it as I have too many shirts already.  Plus still leaves me with 1k+ just in case something else good shows up later.

Im already at platinum status but have extra codes.can i save them towards the next years points or should i just redeem them all now?

Are the pre installed games on the Wii U SM3DW bundle eligible for coins? I bought one during the Target sale. The console was automatically registered when I was setting it up and linked it to the account I already had with my 3DS. Are the Club Nintendo slips supposed to be in the box somewhere? I'd like to get the Zelda case but I'm 95 coins short. I'm not sure if SM3DW and Nintendo Land are enough, but I'd like to get the coins either way.

My first 3DS Club Nintendo case ain't even half full and I have enough shirts I shouldn't wear in public so passing. Let alone I'm prolly Medium.

I think I'm going to redeem some points for that Zelda case to go with the rest of my Zelda collection. Do the points come out of your accounts after you redeem them?

Finally got a second case for the rest of my games. Got the Zelda one before and now got the Mario/Pikmin case.

Wish they would have a Poke'mon one considering all the games there is.

I got a "Bonus Survey" that asked me questions about how much I enjoyed "Bonus Survey". It was a standard post-play survey with Super Smash Bros for the Wii U filled in on two of the last questions, and then two amiibo questions. +10

So glad I checked into this thread today.  Almost thought they were never going to bring the cases back.  I got the SMB case.  Thanks everyone.  So, how long do you think before they both sell out for good?  I'm thinking The Weekend, tops.

They come out of your account but however many points you have still count towards your gold or platinum status for the year. I think I'm 30 short of the cases need to find something to top up.

Sweet, definitely grabbing the Pikmin one since I got the Zelda one last time. I'll be using this cover:

600_KoopaandYoshi.jpg

This one will be my dedicated DS case and the Zelda one will be my dedicated 3DS case.

I got mine during the sale too (well, I price matched Best Buy) and I can confirm that you ONLY get the 160 coins for registering the Wii U. The games don't count towards coins. On the other Wii U games I bought, MK8 and Bayonetta 2, the codes were on the back slip. If you take the game out you can see some of the text, but you need to pull it out a little to see the code. Not sure which games have code papers or codes on the slip.

Not sure how people feel about this, but you could always find some codes in cases at Gamestop and snap a photo with your phone or buy and then return them a day later. Easy Club Nintendo points. Its not like the 9 year old who got a used copy of NSMBU from his Grandma cares about Club Nintendo anyways.

Ditto! I was on a break from CAG and decided to check my feed just for the heck of it. I'm so glad this was the first thread on my tapatalk feed! I have the Zelda case already and it's a great travel accessory for the 3ds.

I decided to get the Mario case since this was the first thing I felt worth it to spend my coins on. Maybe Nintendo hasn't totally neglected the club just yet.

If anyone wants one of these items (namely the rad shirt) but lacks the coins/wants to save them, shoot me a message with a reasonable offer before they sell out and I'll grab one and have it sent to you.
