[customspoiler=Basic FAQ]
-Basic Info/Overview
For those that don't know Club Nintendo is Nintendo's loyalty program of sorts. When you buy a Nintendo Console/Handheld, or a Nintendo published game, you get a pin that you can enter online to earn points. These points can then be redeemed for games, accesories, and collectable items. If you earn enough points in a Club year (300 for gold and 600 for platinum, which each have their own reward), you also receive a free bonus only available to a select few. You can read the full list of eligible titles, as well as their point value, here.

-How do I get coins for digital purchases?
In order to earn coins on any digital games you purchase on Wii/WiiU/3DS/DSi, you will first need to link you Club Nintendo account to your system. Instruction for doing so can be found here.

-Can I play the Wii games on my Wii-U?
Yes, but as of now, only in Wii mode. Native Wii U support might be added later on, but will most likely require the typical $1-$1.50 fee to transfer over.

-How do I play Wii games on Wii U
You will need to enter Wii mode on your Wii U. Instructions on doing so can be found http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/features_wii_menu.jsp?menu=wii_shop&submenu=wup-wiishop-ht-redeem-code"]here[/url].

- If I don't spend coins for the entire year long period, do they carry over?
Yes, you can keep your coins past the Club Nintendo year they are redeemed in. However they only count toward gold or platinum status for the Nintendo year (june 31st-july 1st) they are redeemed in. After two years old points do expire, so make sure to spend them before then. You can check Coin balance information while, logged in, at the top of the page.

- Is there a list of previous rewards for people who accumulated a lot of coins? Similar to Square Enix's Ultimate Tier?
The extra rewards for Club Nintendo are for those that accumulate enough points to hit Gold or Platinum status (300 and 600 points, respectively). If you reach the required number of points in a year, Nintendo will automatically send you your reward, with no cost to you or your points.

- Does the list of eligible games update as the games come out or on some sort of schedule?
The list will be updated before the game comes out, do to things like Pre-Purchase bonus points. Any game you can buy, should already be on the list and able to redeem.

- When do they typically announce the prizes for Gold and Platinum?
Generally at the end of a Club Nintendo year, but don't expect it anytime soon. Usually it will take at least several months for them to ship it out.

- Is there anyway to enter multiple copies of the same game or device?
They have an option in the settings to make your account a family account, which means it can have sub-accounts that allows you to register multiple copies of games. The coins from all the sub-accounts all end up in the same main account coin collection.

- How does the site show what balance of coins you have to spend versus your total towards Gold/Platinum?
At the top right of the screen you can see the coin counter. The big number is your total coin amount, and the bar underneath is your progress to gold or platinum status. The number needed to advance is displayed directly above said bar. Redeeming your coins does not affect this counter, as it is only reset at the end of the year.

- How can I tell if a code is valid without redeeming it?
If you want to check if a code has already been registered, without registering it yourself, all you need to do is try entering the code while you are logged out. It will tell you the name of the game, as well as how many points it is worth, without activating it.[/customspoiler]

Let me know if I missed anything or if something breaks!

Ordered the Zelda case as I didn't have Club Nintendo the first time it was offered.

I do have a question in regards to code redeeming. I have my XL code still as well as 6 3DS codes and 4 Wii U codes. Is it best to redeem them all until I reach Platinum (just turned Gold) now or wait for another possible free game giveaway like they did with Pokemon or the Wii U games? I guess I mean how often are the free game giveaways?

Wait, they're far more valuable if you redeem them in conjunction with a promotion. They've done it each of the last two springs. It's also stupid easy to get platinum.

Already have zelda case so I put in for a pikmin case... glad they are still putting up physical rewards.  Weren't these 250 coins before?  I could have sworn I paid much less last time.  Oh well, still glad they offered it.

Thanks for the heads up on the rewards!

I'm not sure I like the design of the Zelda one so I picked up the Mario/Pikmin one.  I still have 450 points though so I might just pick up the Zelda one anyway.

Would wait if it was me

Maybe Nintendo hasn't totally neglected the club just yet.
Will probably be in for a case myself, but this doesn't mean we're not neglected. EU Club Nintendo has a set of Mario Kart Pins/Badges, a nice boxed set of Mario Golf Balls, and a MK8 T-Shirt right now... yeah, another case isn't my idea of leveling the playing field, that's for sure!

Thanks for the heads up on this new stuff, got myself a shirt!

I got that 10 coin bonus survey too for the "Bonus Survey" game, made me laugh.
Ha! So I also got the "bonus survey" for "Bonus Survey" -- Its not until question#13 that it says "Smash" -- I wonder if I should go back and answer the questions for Smash. I just rated them based on the "bonus survey" :)

Are the pre installed games on the Wii U SM3DW bundle eligible for coins? I bought one during the Target sale. The console was automatically registered when I was setting it up and linked it to the account I already had with my 3DS. Are the Club Nintendo slips supposed to be in the box somewhere? I'd like to get the Zelda case but I'm 95 coins short. I'm not sure if SM3DW and Nintendo Land are enough, but I'd like to get the coins either way.

As far as I know included games are not eligible.
Pre-installed games can't register on Club Nintendo because they've already gone past the point of purchase before you can sync you system to CN. Bundled digital codes, on the other hand, are eligible for coins as long as you sync to CN before redeeming them (and will give you DDP until the end of the month, for that matter).

That's been my experience, anyway.

They were 250 for the first and second ones I believe, but still gonna get the new one (Pikmin/SMB) since I'm reaching capacity for the original 18 game case Club Nintendo offered.

Yay, the Zelda case is back. It's been out most of the year I think. I have the older one.

I need to find this years CN codes and enter them already, I have Wind waker, LBW, gaiden III, bravely default, and I think something else laying around....

Haven't been any offerings I have cared for enough to get the codes together, hope I haven't lost any.

Idk if I have mentioned this or if I just think it when I see that avatar, but I own some animation cels from the knights of justice. Cool show

I was pretty psyched to get the Zelda case ordered. I have 20 loose games that look out of place in the hori cases I've been using. This will hold my first party games perfectly and fit in to my shelf

Awesome, was hoping the cases would come back. Filled the first one I ordered way easier than I expected so definitely getting extras this time!

I can't remember my login. T-shirt is probably worth it... Not sure about the cases... Though I have 30 or so ds games from garage sales that need cases.

The cases are really quality. They're basically a 3DS case on the outside but with the thickness of a DS case and made of thick, solid plastic. The card stock is heavy and the printing quality is really nice. Comparable quality card cases are usually $20-30 so well worth it without even considering the awesome Nintendo artwork.

I really don't like the Zelda case designs...the Mario/Pikmin one is great though...getting myself another of these cases.

Definitely the worst set of the cover designs for the three cases we've got through CN. I think the AC cover is the best single design where the Pikmin one has the best three.

Defiantly reccomend the cases. I remember I got the very first one available, I think it was 200 coins, now they are 400. They are really nice though. It's where I store all my games.

Picked up one of each case since I could actually use two new cases, but also because these are first new items on the rewards section in far too long. Now I can have fit more of my DS games in these cases.

Passing on the cases. I'd only use them for travel, and I don't do much of that.

Grabbed the shirt, though. I still have 1300 points left. Hope I don't regret it, though.

This is my first time purchasing items on Club Nintendo.  I purchased 2 DS Game Cases but under Order Inquiries, it says I have nothing ordered.  I wonder if they just have not processed the order yet as I did receive 2 emails confirming the purchase.  Thanks in advance!!

Yeah, don't worry. CN is just about the worst running site around. I just order those cases today as well, and I got the confirmations, but they didn't remove the coins from my account. Their site is very reflective of their online as a whole, it sucks. LOL

They did remove the coins from your account just takes a minute to reflect it. If you try to buy more items it will give you a Wario error message.

What do you expect from a website giving away and shipping stuff for free...

I purchased Resident Evil: Revelations from the eShop since it's on sale right now and to get one more $5 DDP reward.  Was surprised to see when I visited the Club Nintendo site today that there was a survey for 50 coins for downloading the game.

Also downloaded Lucadian Chronicles a few days back since it's free (DLC unlocks the full game).  The post-download survey doesn't give any coins but the post-play survey gives 10 coins.  And the game is actually pretty fun, it's a card game where you don't control the actual battles, just set up your fighters before the battle and it auto-plays.  Definitely not for everyone but I've found it entertaining for the couple hours I've put into it.

Thanks for this. 10 coins for free ain't bad.

Is there any way to know what the next month's gold coin rewards will be? I've got a bunch of coins I need to redeem by the summer but I keep holding out for the next month hoping something is better but nothing I want is ever an offer. I might have to bite on Metroid.

Unfortunately not. But I'd get the Wii U games up for offer before the 31st, as they're eligible for DDP.

I have a Club Nintendo code for New Super Mario Bros. Wii that I can't use, so it's up for grabs and posted below.  If you enter it into your account and it goes through, please post back here that it's claimed so other CAG's don't waste their time.  Thanks.
