Have any sites (or people) done side by side comparisons how the VC games look compared to their original counterparts? I'm not expecting a big difference but I'm curious to see how say Mario 64 would look if I bought the VC version as opposed to if I hooked up my N64.

Bad comparison. He's got that Wii on composite cables.
The difference is neglible anyway, just slightly sharper colors with component cables.
They're faithful copies (at least the ones on the Nintendo systems) of the original games.
