CAGiversary!
i couldn't find a topic talking about this, but i was wondering if i had to buy the first party wireless network adapter or if i could buy some other brand adapter. i just don't want to spend $100 on an adapter when i can spend a lot less. thanks in advance!

I am only aware of the 1st party for an adapter made sprecifically for the 360.

You can find some wireless gaming adapters from Linksys pretty cheap (search the boards - I think the B version can be found for the $20-$30 range). Just plug in the ethernet cable to the 360 like a wired connection.

I am personally using is a wireless bridge.

If you have a laptop that picks up a wireless signal, all you would need to buy is a single cable.

--you can take a crossover cable (different from a regular cat5 cable)
--hook it up to your laptop
--go in to Network Connections (from my network places)
--right click, hit properties

--click the advanced tab

--check the box that says "Allow other users to connect through this computer"

that's all. I use it and it works great. doesn't seem to cause any extra lag.
