Holy shit, I'm moving to Tokyo in three weeks!
There's no way I can bring all my stuff with me, so one lucky CAG is going to win 30+ games and a bunch of shwag (E3, TGS, etc.).

Simply post in this thread for a chance to win.
You must post something about Japan, winning my games, or what you would like to see me do (for your amusement) once I am living in Tokyo.

You may post as often as you wish, but that WILL NOT increase your chance of winning. One account/entry per person. You must be over 18 (or have your parents permission upon winning to receive M rated games) and in the continental US to be eligible to win. Winner will be chosen at random. Contest ends on or about 10/24/05.

Why am I moving to Japan?
Mrs. CheapyD got a great job and it requires us to move to Tokyo. Its basically an offer we can't refuse. I will still be able to run CAG from Japan and now I will be able to work on CAG full time. You can also likely expect new additions/features and possibly a new CAG sister website as I become Your Man In Japan.
Fear not! The focus of CAG will always be cheap video games.

My friend got a job teaching english in Japan. After you pick up their language you should try that out for some cash. Remember to drive on the right side on the street (meaning the left). Enjoy! - Mike

If your going to the videogame Meca you might aswell take those damn games with you! I would kill to live in Japan..and now u've upset me!! So you better give me all those games before i ring my yazuka friends.

So it would be really particularly awesome if you used any of your free time to become a ninja and killed all of the pirates. Because ninjas beat pirates!

Speakin' Japanese with a NY accent - priceless.
Talk hard!

p.s. for you young'uns, that's a Christian Slater quote not a Viagra commercial.

All I want to know about japan is an explanation of the two-finger V that all japanese girls do when posing for pics. My friend went to Japan for vacation and all the girls did the V thing. He couldn't provide me with an explanation. Can you find that out for me?

-p-

I would be very honored to win Cheapy-san's games. It would honor me and my ancestors to add them to my collection.

Good luck CheapyD, have fun on the other side of the world!

I would like to see you wear something with the New York Yankees in Japan. They are annoyed at anything with the Yankees after their press gets hard ons for Hideki Matsui and other similar Japanese players.
Count me in!

Hmmmm....Notice how most of the stuff CheapyD is giving away is Xbox....Is he ashamed of having a Xbox in Japan?

Cheapy D is turning Japanese !
:???: Um, do the math. I count 17 Xbox items and 23 PS2 items. Hooray - at least in Japan CheapyD will be around people who can count! ;)

In Japan, men come first and women come second, or sometimes not at all. Its true. I got that from a very reliable source.

My dad goes to japan on buisness trips all the time... it seems pretty sweet, but my dad says they have some pretty weird laws over there as well.

I want to know how to say "Cheap Ass Gamer" in Japanese. Also looking forward to hearing Cheapy talking about the Japanese game scene. We will all be jealous when he is playing the PS3 months before us. Enjoy Japan, it is a great place!

Tom

Good luck and have fun in Japan Cheapy. I'm glad to hear you'll be able to dedicate more time to this site too. Its become one of my favorite forums since I discovered it.

Once you get over there, keep a eye out for some of these weird vending machines from this site. Here's the one youbastards posted about, a machine that sells USED women's panties. It looks like a converted cigarette machine which goes to show what priorities they have there.

CheapyD should go find one of those used panty vending machines in Tokyo and send me as many as his quarters (or the Japanese equivalent) can allow! :applause:

before modern japanese people came to japan, there were people called Ainu who lived in northern japan. They still live there, and are racially very different from japanese. They have been discriminated against for centuries and centuries. In the 1800s they tried outlawing their language and culture. betcha didn't know that!
anyway, enjoy japan!!!

Give us the dirt on all the nice games we will never be able to play, and teach us how to speak japanesse.

All I know is what I learned from cartman!

Similar to some of the other posts, if I won those games, I'd have a reason to buy new systems, namely an XBox and PS2.

Ah, who am I kidding- I'd borrow it from a friend of mine in exchange for letting him borrow the games for the opposite system. So, in reality, you'd be bringing fun to 2 people :)

SI

Japan is very nice. I've been there a few times and I had a blast. So much to see and do. I would move out there but I feel I just don't know enough japanese to go and feel comfortable. Now that your going you will be able particpate in all the cool gaming stuff the stuff that goes one there and get all the special edition stuf that japanese people take for granted and american people drool over.

Have fun, take it easy and good luck with your move Cheapy D.

I want those games!!! I would like to move to Tokyo with Cheapy and together we could rule the world!!! or not but anyway I'd like to go there myself one day.

I would like to simply see photos of your various excursions, maybe one from atop Mt. Fuji, or one of you riding the statue of Hachiko at Shibuya station.

I for one would like to see Cheapy D appear in the next Godzilla movie. He coule either be a scientist from the states whose recent research into how video games can actually combat dangerous mutant creating radiation or my favorite...have cheapy climb inside the Godzilla suit and rip tokyo a new one! Glad to hear about you and your wife's good fortune. Good luck and God bless Cheapy!

Best of luck in Japan. just remeber PACHINKO is extremely addicting, even with the low res graphics - so watch out for those parlors and if you get a chance, go look for the 'nessie' cousins 'Issie and Kussie' in the volcanic lakes on the southern island of Kyushu.

I would like to see Cheapy have a hungerstrike in front of Nintendo HQ demanding they bring Mother 1+2 (Earthbound 0 + Earthbound in the US) out on GBA in the US while dressed up as Ness. Also hire some local actors to be Skate Punk and Crooked Cop. Then you could have someone record it and you could make episodes out of it like a real life version of Red vs Blue except its about Earthbound and stuff.

Things to do:
1) I'd tell you go chase illegal schoolgirls, but Mrs. CheapyD wouldn't like that too much.
2) Attempt to drive to Okinawa (sorry, inside joke)
3) Dedicate your life to Virtua Fighter, and study under the masters at the local arcade.
4) Pick me to win all your stuff. (Hey, it's worth trying)
5) Stalk and successfully (hey, i think positive) have Mika Nakashima get a restraining order on you.
6) Go back up to number 1 and start again.

Congratulations on the Mrs.'s new job!

Japan is the gamer's Mecca. But there sure are some weird ass things going on there as well...

I'd like to see you appear in some goofy ass Japanese game show, like Takeshi's Castle (or Most Extreme Elimination Challenge here in the states). Man I would love to go through some of those crazy obstacle courses.

Good luck and have a good time!
