Culture of Life Update

Drocket

CAGiversary!
Since PAD has so much fun with his 'Religion of Peace' updates, lets see what's going on with the 'Culture of Life'. In this issue, a fully consious woman suffering from cancer in Texas is removed from life support because she doesn't have insurance:

Note that the law by which this action was undertaken was signed by Bush when he was governor of Texas. Yes, the same Bush who rushed back to Washington to save Terri Shiavo (but who couldn't be bothered to do the same when New Orleans went underwater.) Apparently people only have a right to life when they're white and the family can afford to continue paying for medical care. But we all knew that already.

You're wrong. People only have a right to life if they're strong christians and white and rich or they their right to live impedes on a woman's right to an abortion.

Reading the article, it appears that they were going to take her off anyway eventually. The family is upset that they took her off before her mother got home.

This demonstrates the Government's hypocracy, but I don't disagree with the hospital.

If she was conscious and made her wishes known, as the article suggests, then its borderline murder. It was not just a case of the hospital having to pay for long term life support (in which case the government would be the problem), but did not find emotional consideration important enough to temporarily extend the life of a person who wanted to live. According to another article she required a respirator, not a full scale life support system. The hospital would not have had to take extraordinary means to keep her alive for just a little bit longer.

If the way the information is presented is correct, then this is inexcusable.
