D-9: District 9. Upcoming movie by producer Peter Jackson. Trailers/info inside.

Peter Jackson will be produce, with Neill Blomkamp at the helm, a film titled District 9, a live-action sci-fi project. Blomkamp wrote the script with partner Terri Tatchell and will start filming this spring in South Africa. Jackson's Weta Workshop is fully standing by ready to provide the visual effects for the film as well.

Should highlight something that's not on the radar at the moment, lined up with all the other current summer blockbusters this movie seems to have been shoved into obscurity.

I'm not a big fan of either Peter Jackson, or anything Halo related, however a combination of the two ideals seems to be something entirely creative. So far the movie premise looks good and the short film by Blomkamp looked really neat.

I'm interested in how D-9 turns out. Didn't realize how soon this was coming out.The Joburg short was good and it would have been cool to see what he would have done with a full length Halo flick. Tempbot is another great short by Blomkamp.
