Yea only read magazines when i'm on the crapper - I'll never look at it digitally.
 
I just signed up for the gamer club in April and only received a digital copy of the magazine.

Will I also be receiving the hard copy magazines in the mail?

Or do i need to update my settings in some way?

Nope...they went digital-only for new subscribers and renewals, unfortunately. People who are already members get to continue with the print magazine until they renew...at which point, the transaction automatically switches you to the digital version.

Best Buy is doing away with the physical form of the magazine; I don't know when the last issue will be published but it won't be too much longer. For the past couple of months, anyone signing up for a subscription had to do the digital form and there isn't any way to switch to physical at this point.

I was an early subscriber for the magazine (after the second issue)....ended up being given a second year free for being an "early subscriber". Was never able to get the Gamer's Club Unlocked set up correctly to allow me to get extra points...they refused to link it with my Best Buy Reward Zone account and never could get anoyone to tell me why other than "it wasn't their responsibility...call dept x".

I let my subscription lapse last year sometime. Haven't regretted it. The articles in the magazine weren't very good. I only used the coupons from the magazine maybe 3x over those 2 years (I realize I missed some "great coupons" but usually it was for stuff I didn't want or already had purchased or I just didn't pay very much attention to).

Now hearing the magazine is going to be full digital and with the lack of quality coupons as of late (their in store sales are decent at times honestly....much better than the drivel in the magazine for my tastes) it makes it even easier to not re-up that subscription.

I find it impossible to believe people have that magazine for anything other than the coupons they contain. The writing and articles are pathetic excuses for journalism. I'm an admitted fan of Game Informer and have had the magazine since 2002. They aren't perfect...buy at least I feel like they give me news. And I don't even shop at Gamestop but maybe 2x a year if that.

Agreed.

I feel as tho @gamer articles are just huge advertisements, and not anything worthy of reading.

I also read a lot of Game Informer. It actually gives me information that I care about and covers a wide variety of things. Where as @gamer only covers what they deem "worthy". (Aka triple A / Super hyped games)
 
Well thats a good deal. If anyone is interested in it for that price id do that quick since they could mark it back up quickly like they did with prototype 2.

you best luck is to either head to get your local bestbuy stores, can ask them to let you scan the gamers coupon, in order to get the deal. Or wait for a cag poster, who is willing to offer you their online gamers discount code at free of charge.

People are still selling these GOW codes online, so I assume they're still valid and likely still in the retail copies. I really wish I had realized the codes were included before I bought those characters a couple of weeks ago. I would have waited and definitely jumped on this $25 GOW deal. I guess I could sell the codes like everyone else.
 
Since we got 14 pages of people complaining about the @Gamer coupons before the GOW price drop and Afterglow sale, does this mean we will now get another 14 pages of people recanting their statements and admitting @Gamer is not as big of a rip off as they formerly proclaimed?

I'm not saying that these deals make @Gamer a fantastic value, but it does show that there is still some life left in the coupons and perhaps people shouldn't be so quick to dump all over them when they initially come out. I doubt anyone's mind will be changed unless we see $5 games again.

For the billionth time, unless you have an active print subscription, then yes digital only.

However with digital you get the bonus perk of getting 2 sets of the coupons, one for store use and one for online use. Makes those free / $5 games (when they do happen) all the sweeter!

I actually didn't realize that the digital coupons could be used for both in-store and online. I assumed using the online code would cancel out the in-store code and vice versa. Thanks for the tip.

Hell, when PS4 launches I'm pretty sure ALL of the games will go cheaper seeing as we won't be able to even play them on PS4. :(

I think the reason they raised the price on Prototype 2, is because they were giving $8 trade in credit for a $5 game. Someone was smart enough to notice and a change had to be made.

Considering the lengths some cheapos would go through to max their credit I don't blame BB.

How much lower do you really think a big PS3 first party game will go? $5 less? And by then it could be a GH release with no free All Stars DLC and possibly a dead multiplayer scene. Just something to consider.
