Oddly enough, the church I go to has a 360 with Rock Band and GHIII in the activity room downstairs. After service, it's common practice to get some coffee and break out the plastic instruments.

This game seems to subscribe to the same way of thinking as a lot of "CCM" bands - simply trying to provide "the Christian version of ____." The result is usually an inferior imitation of something good!

Now I don't consider "Christian music" to be a true genre (another discussion for another time), but there are plenty of bands-with-Christians that I'd love to get DLC packs for. Guitar Praise doesn't look like something I'd go for, but give me a "Take Me To Your Leader" full-album download for Rock Band and I'll be all over it.

lol

I'd also grab it for the 360... its mostly crap, but at least the wife wont cringe.

My co-host just did a little article about this on our podcast blog: http://supercandid.blogspot.com/2008/08/guitar-praise-solid-rock.html

and we did a long session about it on our latest show, but my audio is bad! so we have to re-do the whole thing... there are a ton of great Christian bands, but none of them are represented by that game. turns out people love crap music no matter if its Three Doors Down or Jeremy Camp. bad music knows no religious boundaries.

+1 for you!! Still LMAO!! :applause:

Too bad this is not for the 360 or ps3. I would buy it for sure if it was for console.

I wish there were more options for consumers. Make a Country Game, R&B game, Christian Rock, etc. Let people decide with their money!

This. I really think the more options, the better. While they're not all for me... it allows each person to be reached with their specific interests.

I want an all Metal game, but frankly--- most people HATE playing (or singing) those songs.

/end sarcasm

For the right person this would be a blast, but I attended Lutheran high school & college. This gives me random flashbacks of overbearing Christian propaganda. In college they even had a chart in the school bookstore that said "If you like XX artist then you will like XX artist". It compared for example Brittney Spears to some girl that looked kinda like her and sang Christian rock, etc. They even had some dude that was compared to Marilyn Manson.

I agree if this was released as DLC for an existing game it would be much cooler.

I'm so glad that me and my little ones can finally rock out totally awesome-style with the praise of God in our hearts. None of that Satanic meaningless dribble like in those secular Guitar "Hero"(I put that in quotations because Jesus is the only hero...ever). My kids have been begging me for one of those Rock Band games but I told them"Unless a song is about praise and worship of our lord, I don't it in my house" Because as everyone knows, if a song isn't about God or Jesus, it's about worshiping Satan. My son tried to argue that a lot of secular songs are about personal feelings or deep thought and thats when I knew I'd have to set him straight. Now that he got his hands on Guitar Praise he can totally rock out without sinning.

LOL can't wait to see his little angel in porn.

No radio, no tv, no books, no newspapers, homeschooled to keep precious from the Devils playgrounds.

EDIT: um if one of his other kids is a girl lol just caught the he part.
A great article about why people are skeptical about this game:

http://www.gamesetwatch.com/2008/09/guitar_hero_praise_whats_wrong.php
I'm a little late to this party, but that article is complete garbage. Here are the last two paragraphs:

"Christians should not be demanding video games prefixed with a faith label, as if that cheap and easy classification provides some kind of invisible moral safety net for their and their children’s media consumption.

Rather, believers should simply be demanding good and beautiful games that delight in creativity, make people happy, present or explore the world in interesting ways and maybe, just maybe enable us to catch a glimpse of their God, from whom all good things are claimed to flow."

The writer seems to think he has the right to tell believers what they should and should not want in games. Talk about presumptuous. People can want whatever the heck they want from any form of media.

Yeah. To call out the incessant morons and ban them on sight for overusing that phrase.
#-o

For those of you who don't get it, that review was a joke.
Joke or not, it was presented among REAL reviews and I've met people this extreme so I don't think (unless you posted that review of course) that we can fully discount it as a joke. I think it at least represents SOMEONE'S feelings if not that mans.

Actual review: "I truly appreciate the alternative to the secular game."

Hahahhahaahahhhahhahah!!!
