Anyone know a good way to get that funky old/smoke smell out of manuals and such?

I found a box of old atari & odyssey2 stuff at a yard sale last week. There were alot of manuals, posters and catalogs in the box; but they have a heavy smell of old/smoke. I'd love to find a way to "freshen them up".

Any help/tips would be appreciated

I know they sell gel beads at department stores that are supposed to absorb odor, that might help. The other option would be to let them just air out in a well ventilated area.

You could try sealing them in a plastic container with a box of baking soda or some activated charcoal, both will remove odors. I've heard people say they've had some success with dryer sheets.

dryer sheets do help...back when i was collecting Star Wars (before the new movies) i had a old ESB Turret and Probot playset with a horribly smokey box, took it outside during the day (dont leave it out at night) with some dryer sheets and it really helped...still a slight odor but nothing like it was
