ds/3ds game help

Howdy, I'm getting 3ds for the first time from a trade on this site but I don't know any good games to check out.

I've kinda missed a whole catalog also as I've only had a couple ds' over the last few years and even then only played the pokemon series.

I'm getting pokemon y with the trade and I'm thinking about getting this new zelda game but what else? Any help would be awesome

I don't have Zelda, but heard it's amazing.

Also I'm addicted to Animal Crossing, it's like crack.  I just can't put it down and I really should.  Mario 3D Land or NEW Super Mario Bros 2 are always safe bets depending on what you are looking for (#D Mario or classic Mario).
