DS Lite Repairs or New System?

My brother has a DS Lite that has broken hinges, stiff buttons, and a discolored screen. He was asking me if I knew where to get it repaired and I didn't so I thought I'd check here.

He says he prefers just to get his fixed but depending on the price of the repairs, would it be cheaper to just find another one? I checked on cowboom.com and they only have DSi systems right now. He already has a 3DS but wants a DS because the 3DS cramps his hands plus the buttons are less responsive.

Look around ebay. They usually don't go for more than $25.

i know by my area in california, los angeles if you type on craigslist there is plenty of stores that offer repair for 20-30$

No matter where you go, it will be cheaper to buy a replacement.  Since there's no account or digital content whatsoever on a DS Lite, there's really no need to hold onto that old broken one...unless it's a super-rare limited edition.

You could buy a replacement or get it fixed if you don't feel like throwing away a perfect good motherboard. If you do get it fixed, you'll have to get new pads, and a case in the color you choose.
