I was suspended from ebay for relisting 6 copies of the guy game (got them for less than 10 sold them for 60 each). I can't find the email they sent me about my suspension. Does anybody know what the standard time frame for suspensions is?

edit **
I am not contesting my suspension. I agree that I should have been suspended. I am curious if ebay has a standard timefram for first time suspendees.

a month from what one of my buyers told me (he was trying to sell me a couple of stuff from the side).
I think it has more to the fact that it has a 17 year old girl exposing herself.
In their email they said nothing about any 17 year old girl exposing her self. I bought them at Blockbuster so if you want to travel some moral high ground write them a letter. I am not the only person that has sold that game in the world, I didn't video tape that girl, and I didn't produce the game.
17 year old girl? what game is this...and where can i get it?
Is called the Guy Game and it was pulled from shelves because it had 17 year old showing her boobies. I think because of that the game can't be sold. Unless the OP didn't put in his auction about the contents of the game. But I don't know.

I'm not posting a tatical moral strike dingbat. I'm saying they probably have their panties in a bunch because the first version of the Guy Game had a MINOR posing in it.

Seeing how you were so vague in your OP, thats my best conclusion.
Ebay is werid on stuff. I agree with kayden its because of the bad reviews and trouble that this game can cause
They didn't suspend me because that game has a 17 year old girl exposed in it. They ended my auctions because of that reason. They suspended me because I relisted them after they told me that I shouldn't be selling them.

I would deem this pretty un called for, I have seen a lot worse sold on ebay, but its there site so they can do whatever they want.

So, what your saying is that If i came upon a bag of cocaine, and I didn't make it, I can sell it without any trouble?
However, if i do for some reason get caught, I can just say: I'm not the only one selling it!

Ebay does have some policies, there is NOTHING different between selling a dvd of child pornography on ebay and selling the guy game on ebay. You being banned was 100% legit and if anyone lift the ban due to an e-mail or letter, they are idiots.

Do you have trouble reading??? I am not complaing at all about being suspended. I understand why they did it. I was asking if anyone knew the standard time frame. And don't give me that child pornography bull shit. I BOUGHT IT FROM GAME RUSH THE SAME DAY EBAY CANCELED MY AUCTION. I didn't buy any coke from blockbuster but if they could sell it i should be able too also. You are a moron.

Jesus, someone actually paid 60 bucks for that game?

I sold 6 of them for between 60 and 68 + shipping. I needed money for an operation is the only reason that I kept relisting and got suspended.

How was my post vague??? The only question i asked was, does anyone know how long the standard suspension lasts. I didn't ask why you thought i got suspended.

I work part-time in a video game store and The Guy Game has not been pulled from shelves. We still have both new and used copies for sale in the store. So whoever said they were pulled because of a minor in the game, I believe is wrong. This was the 1st i had heard of the minor in the game.
Something tells me that if this were true, with working in a video game store, we would have heard about this long ago.

I'm calling BS on the supposed "recall" or pulling of this game from shelves because it just flat out isnt true!!

A website reported that the makers were being sued by the girls family and that it was supposed to halt production. then later there were rumors that it was done to stir up publicity (probably the case).

Touché sir, however there was a story going around about all the auctions being canceled like a month ago for that game, and also, I don't really feel like getting involved in any drama today, so uhh... to add to the orginal question you asked:

* eBay will consider the circumstances of an alleged policy violation and the user's trading record before taking action.
* Disciplinary action may result in a formal warning, temporary sanction, or indefinite suspension.
* If a complaint can't be proven with certainty, we may take no action.
* Due to privacy issues, it's not possible for eBay to discuss the results of an investigation.
* Posts made in eBay’s Want It Now area must also comply with eBay policies. For more information, see the Want It Now Policies page.

So in short terms, you'd need to find out from ebay yourself for what your timeframe would be, considering they don't seem to have a "set" one, only Perma-bans and temp-bans.

Why do you presume to know my situation?? I don't feel I should have to explain this to you but I guess I will. I am a grad student. I am getting a masters degree in IT information security and privacy. I work part time. My wife is also a grad student. With both of us in school, and both of us working part time because of that, sometimes money is tight around the house. I repeat, fuck you.

well quick question: Why did the gme reached for $60 in the first place. I am not assuming anything bad or anything, but did you advertised that the game can no longer be sold in store or something that can make the EBAY EMPLOYEE suspicious. Plus like I said elier, about a month for suspension was told to me.

No, I kept it low key. I did a one day auction (because I knew ebay was ending them early every 24 to 36 hours) people just kept bidding on them. That was the going rate at that time. All that was in the description was "Factory sealed copy of The Guy Game on Xbox."

ah, okay then. A month at most.

Then why the hell can I still go out and buy this game if there is a minor in it?? Explain that to me.
All im saying is that reguardless of any stories on the net or wherever, im calling BS on the whole damn thing. If there were truly a minor in the game, everyone would have to pull them from the shelves and not take them traded in either. A similar instance happened with the Xbox game Kakuto Chojin a few years ago. That game was pulled from shelves and can not be traded in anywhere to my knowledge due to some supposed racial slurs in the game.
You can post all the links to all the stories you want to, be my guest, but if the game is still being sold, someone if full of shit somewhere.

I think it was a hoax to create some sort of buzz about the game because I agree, if it were true I couldn't have bought it at GameRush.

Just asking, but what store are you working for? Well, to my limited knowlegde, I can say that Walmart and Target have pulled the game. Others stores, I don't know.

I don't know if different types of suspensions lead to different results, but for me, I was indefinitely suspended until I faxed them proof of residency and agreed to their terms of blah blah won't do blah blah again kinda thing. It was a pain. I got suspended because I listed and relisted FFXI PC used. Apparently, you're not supposed to sell FFXI used. I guess I should have read the fine print.

Alright, I think maybe this should be locked before it gets out of hand. (Maybe?) I mean OP got the answer but people continually explain something he needs not explained. I think we all learned a valuable lesson, read the first post and the thread before commenting.

this is why asking questions isn't the best idea... I mean, look the guy asked one question: How long is suspension? but now it has turned in to a war... normally its funny, but this one is BORiNG!

I also sold this game on eBay a month ago. I first did a 7 day auction; at the time there were A LOT of listings for the game, many of them over 5 days, and were still going on days after they started. Then eBay pulled my auction 12 hours later without much explanation except for saying the item is inappropriate. At the time the rest of The Guy Game auctions were still up, seems like only mine was the only one pulled. So I kept the description simple and did a 1 day Buy It Now auction. Someone bought it 20 mins after I listed the item, and paid. Right after I printed the shipping label for the game, eBay pulled my auction even after it ended. So it disappeared from my 'sold' history. I emailed the buyer and told him I sent the game (I was being honest :) ) and that I apologize not being able to leave him a feedback since the auction is gone.

I didn't get suspended on that occasion, even though I relisted the item after it was pulled. Still at the time, over 30 live auctions were still going on for the game. eBay is weird. Good luck w/ your suspension.

wow, people on hear that work at game stores and they don't even know that the game had a minor in it! guess it tells you how much the game store employees are up to date on video games!!!! lol
