FAQ:
How do I get those sticky yellow EB stickers off my case?
Buy a bottle of Goo Gone. They're usually $5 or less. They last forever and are a good purchase if you buy lots of used games. You can find them at drug stores or places like Wal Mart.

The bottle looks like this:

When is the EBgames morning update?
Usually between 7am and 7:30am eastern time, Monday through Friday. There are no updates on some holidays.

How do I know the update happened?
The number of in stock games will drop to zero, then rise back up. This takes less than a minute.

I had game X in my cart, but it disappeared while I was checking out. What happened?

Someone else beat you to it. Just because an item is in your cart, doesn't mean it's reserved for you until you finish checking out.

How do you know how many copies of game X are in stock?
When the item is in your cart, change the quantity to a large number (like 99). When the page refreshes, the quantity will be reduced to the number available.

Are there any coupons I could use to save money?
CAG15 gives you 15% off used merchandise.
CAG16 gives you 16% off $50 or more worth of used merchandise.
SAVER gives you free shipping on orders containing used games and accessories. For some reason, Gameboy games do not work with SAVER.
It's just a demo disc I still have one from way back (I think I got it in the mail). It's not the whole game and it's just a matter of someone trading in the demo, disc only and a clerk at EBgames thinking it's the whole game.

It's not a sure thing you'll get the demo it's a YMMV from if the warehouse gets demos filtered up to them from a clerk accepting the demo as a trade-in.
The same thing happened to me with a copy of Ps1-Speed Punks were I just got a demo disc, which by the way was clearly labeled on the front of the disc. If that happens you can email them and they'll send you a prepaid envelope to send it back.
well that helps me out today since i woke up late. :)
I went ahead with a shower since my fiancee had taken control of my laptop.

good Lord that was a huge update. i think i spent like $200 almost. Saiyuki and Point Blank were also in for $5.99 each i think? (not sure on Point Blank) missed both of them.

Update guy was holding back until we couldn't stand it any more. Then he blew his load all over the place for the last day of the week. He's snoring over his button right now.

Hmm.. I think I'll hold off on my order till tomorrow, when my credit card billing cycle rolls over. And I'll add Electroplankton to my next one for free shipping. Don't forget, it ships Sunday!
btw, i dunno how this came into stock suddenly but there are 8 left @ 22.99 each.

edit: they are BRAND NEW too!
Was it just for me, or were these gone in an instant . . . too bad we have hoarders in this thread . . . buying a few games for resale is fine but snapping up everything? Not cool . . . esp. if you're using this thead for information.
i felt the same way when there were a bunch of mario mixes in. someone had to hoard all of them.
I'm not a saint . . . usually if I resell an item it is because I use it and decide I don't need it . . . and speculation (buying low and selling high is fun) but using this thread to sweep in and buy up the entire stock really sucks.

In the Mario DDR case, the buyer may have been watching EB independent of this thread (because they've been so hot). With RAD, its hard to believe that someone would have been looking for it without using this site.

RAD is a fun game though, people should not buy it just to resell it?! not cool! well i picked up a Grandia and a BoF4 so a pretty good haul today. hopefully they show up all nice and new looking for my RPG collection.
Well, I didn't manage to wake up in time for the update. Did anyone notice if Guitar Hero made another showing?
I didn't see it, but they now have the guitar controller for sale separately for $39.99. It's not looking good for that ordered it yesterday.

Thanks. I'll try to check early on Monday. As far as it not looking good for the ones who ordered yesterday, I disagree. The one has nothing to do with the other. I'm looking forward to reading updates from those people stating they received everything.
I was the one that bought it. Thanks for posting it when you did and sorry if someone else wanted it. What condition should I expect the DC to come in?
Mine came in one of those white boxes that EB uses to pack up their used systems with bubble wrap underneath it. Cables and controller were all wrapped up and held with twistees. The system itself looked fine. No scuff marks, stickers, residue of any kind. Overall I was impressed for something that cost me a little over 20 dollars.

Very nice. Thanks for info. I hope mine comes in similar shape.

The problem is that on the Guitar Hero bundle page, there is an extra $5 for handling because of the larger package. On the page where I bought the used Guitar Hero, I didn't get that charge.

I wouldn't read too much into that, either. Maybe it will have the controller, maybe not (I hope it does, even though I didn't manage to order one). New and used items are treated differently, so that could explain the difference in shipping costs.

BTW, I noticed that Gamestop.com sells the used controllers for $9.99 (backordered, of course), with no mention of an additional shipping charge, even though the bundle there has an additional $5 shipping charge.
With RAD, its hard to believe that someone would have been looking for it without using this site.
That's the problem. I knew of the game when it first came out and I didn't have the $40 for it. I ended up stumbling across it for $10, used, at EB several months ago and got my brother to buy it in my stead. I then went to my friends and raved about the game, which got them looking to.

What strikes me is that the game is certainly uncommon, maybe bordering on rare, but I never really considered it to be something to run to eBay to get or to ever consider hoarding. Only so many people know about the game, it had very little coverage in magazines and almost no advertisement whatsoever. So...even if someone were to hoard the title through EB (which I'm sure they have), I don't think the payoff will be that great in the long run. It's still a niche title that, unlike some other titles, still has little to no recognition whatsoever.

I wonder if there's even a market for the title. It's a fantastic game and well worth these low prices, but I can't imagine most people running out to buy copies. I tend to see a used copy at least once every two or three months so...

I'll say from experience that i've got games solely on what has been said here (gitaroo man, spin jam, "anime" rpgs) and I will NEVER do that again.. most times you get your hopes up on a game (gitaroo man especially man that game blew) and it just tears you down. RAD is the same way.. its a Robot game..and my experience with Robot and Mech games have they have always sucked. so I won't get it (even though i see copies of it at the GS i go to everytime i go)

however Guitar Hero is definately the "guitar rythem game of choice" gitaroo man just can't compete.

I rented Rez (was considering buying it and was VERY dissappointed in it). As for Spin Jam, that ain't a bad puzzle game for 99 cents. If you were expecting the best puzzle game ever, I'd be dissappointed too.

You just wish it was named Rozz instead of Rez. :)

When the Tekken 5 with the arcade stick and the Steel Battalion game + controller combo come instock I am pretty sure those do not have an extra shipping fee like a brand new Tekken 5 bundle does.

I never played the PS2 version... The DC version is excellent. Maybe a bad port?

I'm guessing a person has to be into that kind of music, art, etc... to enjoy this type of game. You will not see many Madden / EA fans giving it the time of day. :)

I enjoyed Parapppa the Rapper but I just didnt like Rez. Maybe you have to be stoned to enjoy it...

And I really dont see why people have to look down on others who enjoy playing Madden. Hey, you guys buy Hideo Kojima's rehashes, theres not much difference. Also, Dynasty Warriors players do the same thing.

And for the record, EA makes the best sports sims. EA>Sega

If it were named Rozz, then I would demand that everyone has at least four copies of it in their collection. And I would have proably enjoyed it more too :)

That's a crock. I will give EA the baseball title as MVP 05 was clearly better than MLB 2k5, but that is the only series they are better at. The Madden games can't touch NFL 2k5 and there has been a Madden update since that 2k version!! It still isn't close to the perfection that 2k5 is. NBA 2k6 blows Live out of the water due to superior gameplay and EA getting caught up in the typical unimportant stuff. The NHL 2k series is by far better than the EA sports hockey games also.

3 sports out of 4. So how does EA > Sega (take 2)?

You have to realize people have opinions. The baseball sims and football sims by EA are better. EA has even gone in territory that Sega has never gone into, such as Cricket, Rugby and Soccer. I'll give you ESPN 2K and NHL 2K though, but the rest of EA's lineup pwns Segas. Keep in mind though this is just an opinion, and try not to get so worked up about things. Thats a problem among alot of you guys today.

Heres Rozz! Its even a Greatest Hits game! (cover art enhanced by Microsoft Paint!)

I agree, Rez really isn't that fun, and I'm a huge fan of games like Frequency and Amplitude (which is why I'm strongly considering Guitar Hero). A lot of things on here are really overhyped, especially games that are considered "Rare/Valuable/Ebay fodder" and those made by Atlus. Don't get me wrong, I think Disgaea is a solid game and all, but it wasn't really worth the trouble to get it when I did, and its definitely nothing amazingly great.
