1 Oct. '09: "On hold after EyePet is done."
source (translated)

Sony is fooling themselves if they think EyePet is going to fair better than Eye of Judgment. ED was one of the games I based a PS3 purchase on since I was hoping it could be the "PS3's answer to Gears of War" (cooperative TPS).http://translate.google.fr/translat...s-et-the-getaway-3-en-vie--17019.html&prev=hp

This game would have gotten lost in the shuffle if it were coming out anytime soon. Sony has a huge lineup of amazing exclusive games like Uncharted 2, Demon Souls, White Knight Chronicles, Gran Turismo 5, MAG, God Of War 3, Heavy Rain, Katamari Forever and a lot more. What they are missing from the lineup is casual games to draw in the casual/family audience, and Eyepet is a good looking piece of software to go after those folks. Plus, when they go back to 8 days eventually, they'll now have the code from Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, God Of War 3 and more at their disposal, so it can only look better.

Have patience.

Don't expect a resurrection (see: 4 Jun. '09).

Maybe I'm being elitist or butthurt over the cancellation, but I figure casuals only cling to a single console per generation ("comfort zone") which is the Wii this time so I feel these efforts are just wasted resources and too risky for Sony right now when there's a proven core audience that ED would of captured. Heck, EyeToy underperformed when Sony were the casual leader with PS2.

Won't be seeing the EyePet on CNN, Oprah, or The View.

The team not only worked on Eyepet, but they've been making games for the new PS3 wand till now, its part of why 8 days was canceled. Think bigger picture! The game looks great, no doubt, but i am positive it will be back.

Did you say something about Beyond Good and Evil 2? No? Oh... well... This would have been nice also I guess.

Can't wait for EyePet to come out so they can get back to work on Eight Days, if this source (translated) is true.

*They were 50% done when they switched, plan to return.*

But now that the motion controller is coming out I hope that doesn't change plans and turn them into a "motion studio".

EyePet is actually on my list of games to get, so I can't really say I'm disappointed the game was canned/put on hold. As someone said above, we don't need another generic shooter.
Get them off of this and put them to work on a real 3rd person game, Syphon Filter
Syphon Filter has been in development for a while for PS3. Using code from all the major first party devs. Its going to be awesome.

Sony bend is making it. I know a guy working on it, they've been at it for over a year. No worries.
