The Epson 1000 ICS is designed so that you cannot print if one of your ink cartridges is full and the other one is empty. For example, if your color cartridge is empty, the printer will not allow you to print in black and white unless you install a new color ink cartridge - and vice versa.
This is all kinds of shitty, and I'm taking the longshot chance of asking if anyone knows of a hack or a patch to bypass this.
These printer companies take every opportunity to push your shit in from all sides.
