SUCCESS!
Just took my stack of 15 games to the ghetto-adjacent/transitional TRU down La Cienega by the 10 freeway, and walked in with 5 copies (2 each DR3 and Ryse and 1 copy of Forza 5) with my plan being to tell them that my online order overcharged me as it only took 30% off of 3 of the 15 games, hoping that they would ring the online receipt first then the games and see that it "adjusted" them down to $.02 each as part of their ongoing B1G1 30% off sale.
Instead, the CSR lady scanned the games, was obviously confused by the $.02 price coming up, meanwhile I'm thinking "shit this is going to be a fail..." so I told her "hmmm, those are the old versions of the games there are newer editions, that's probably why they're on sale so cheap now." She said "yeah lemme check the date, oh yes these are from 2013. They're last year's versions..."
So she scanned the receipt and I got 99.99% of the charge refunded on that set. Walk to my car, put them and the new receipt inside and grab the other ten and take them in asking if I can get the other ten adjusted and she says sure. For some odd reason part of that return was in the form of a TRU giftcard (although I didn't use any giftcard for the original purchase...and I was also refunded more to my card than I was originally charged).
Total original purchase was $768.29 for the 15 games, refunded $773.19 to my credit card PLUS an additional $27.55 on a TRU gift card. So TRU paid my $32.45 to take those 15 games. Oh and about half of them rang up at $.01 because of the B1G130% off sale going on, flol. And as a final denouement, there were 1 each copies of the regular Ryse and regular Dead Rising 3 so I bought them (padded that purchase with 1 each of the Legendary version and Apocalypse version of the same games).
