I recently bought Fallout 3 GOTY from the Steam sale. When I start it up, I can get to the launcher screen where it detect my video configuration. When it detects what settings to use, I can go into options, and it shows my dedicated graphics card. It doesn't even list the internal card. But when I hit play, it just goes to a black screen. I have to force close the application to get out.

Based on some research, it looks like this seems to be a common problem, kinda. Some people say it runs fine on W7 64, some have the same issue. I've tried redownloading, additional DLL files, modifying files, etc.

Has anyone had a similar problem and was able to fix it? Any suggestions?

It probably doesn't list the internal card because it doesn't have the oomph to run FO3.

I'm going to take a few shots in the dark:

-Have you tried disabling all the .esm's and .esp's aside from the main one? I'm not sure if you have mods or not.
-Have you tried setting all the graphics to low or running in windowed mode?
-Have you updated your drivers for both your card, and DirectX?
buy the regular Fallout 3 and see if the same thing occurs

Then buy the DLC one at a time and see if it still happens
