Never played RoT, even though I do have it.

Drakensang: The Dark Eye feels like a 3D foreign + lower-budget cRPG similar to that Dragon Age: Origins or any of those older D&D party-based strategic-style cRPG's - i.e. NWN: Hordes expansion; especially Neverwinter Nights 2; Baldur's Gate 1 + 2; and Icewind Dale games. Been years since I played this - but, anyways; I did like what I played quite a bit.

It wasn't an easy game by any means, either - which makes it again feel similar to those old-school CRPG's from the 90's and NWN2. One thing I recall is if someone gets knocked-out, you can bring them back - but they wind-up injured. So, you'll have to use something to heal-up the injury, to rid of the penalty. I really liked this system - as it made an already challenging game...even more challenging.

There isn't tons of voice-acting (thankfully) and the voice-acting isn't really that good even - as one might expect w/ a lower-budget game + especially from a foreign game. The writing isn't spectacular, either. But, that doesn't mean the plot isn't bad; not by any means. Though, it does take a bit to get going - i.e. just like another European game series called The Witcher.

I really should get back to Drakensang: TDE sometime....and eventually start River Of Time.

Yes but it's also very different in tone. The one thing that Drakensang has you won't get much else in euro RPGs (except maybe Venetica) is a little lighter in tone. It's no so damned grimdark slop and hookers everywhere like everything else.

That said, I still prefer The River of Time. And it's actually a prequel so there's really no issue with playing that first, even though it was released after the first Drakensang.

 
I actually bought Drakensang at retail, from a Staples bargain bin back in the day. Anyways, of the chunk of time I played it, I found it to be enjoyable. It has some pretty nice graphics, considering the budget. The light hearted tone is nice too.

About the graphics - especially for the time-period it was released in, yes.

Only thing I need is Insane 2. I guess I can always tremorbro that, which is a thing now. 7 Wonders Ancient Alien Makeover is a fun match 3 game, but the Mumbo Jumbo Bundle would be a lot stronger if it included Luxor Evolved.

Just recently joined the tremorbro club (fist bump to all my bros) and will be looking for it too.

If you grab freebies within an amazingly short period of time from when they are dropped, you are spodering.

It's also come to be a generic term for grabbing freebies whether or not superhuman timing is involved.
