Hey fellow CAGs!

Sorry for posting this late over here, but we had some CAGs donate and bid last year and so I wanted to give you the opportunity again this year!

I am a moderator over on the racketboy.com forums, and we are gearing up for a charity auction that starts next month and benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The auction will essentially be a charity lowball auction (though we don't use that terminology there), and we are currently looking for donations of items for the sale.

Even if you don't want to join the racketboy forums but are interested in donating a few items, let me know via PM here on CAG. Of course, if you do join the forums you'll also be able to bid on items.

In any case, here's the post from the racketboy forums with all the relevant details: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=25971

----------
We are now officially gearing up for this year’s charity auction, and next month forum members will have a chance to help out those in need. Last year we raised over $1000, and we would love to see that number double this year! This year’s beneficiary will be the Make-A-Wish Foundation. According to their website:

Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. The Foundation's mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish® experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors and entire communities. The Make-A-Wish Foundation was founded in 1980 after a little boy named Chris Greicius realized his heartfelt wish to become a police officer. Since its humble beginnings, the organization has blossomed into a worldwide phenomenon, reaching more than 193,000 children around the world.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation does amazing work and we would strongly encourage you to donate to them whether or not you participate in the auction. You can do so here: http://www.wish.org/help/donate

The plan is to run the auction from December 1st-17th, with a set ending time of 11:59PM EST on the 17th. Payment for items to be shipped in time for Christmas (in the U.S.) will be due on December 19th, payment for all other items will be due by January 2nd. The auction will be run on the racketboy forum, and bidding will start at $1 per item (or bundle) with .50 or larger incremental bids. More details of the auction format will be announced once it gets started, and you can view last year’s auction to get an idea of how this works here: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=17691.

Here's what we need from YOU:

1. PM me a list of items you are willing to donate to the auction. If you can also attach a link to pictures of the item(s), it would be ideal (though not required). Be sure to provide all relevant description information (e.g. If game is complete, region information, the system smells like socks, etc.)

2. Items that you can donate are not limited to games. You can also donate systems, accessories, movies, etc. You can also choose to donate bundled packages (e.g. a bundle of 3 games and a system, 10 movies, etc.). Live animals, weapons, personal favors, and other unmailable items are not auctionable. Feel free to be creative – we had some interesting items donated last year and would love to see more this year!

3. In your PM, let me know if you will cover shipping costs or if the winning bidder will be expected to pay shipping. If you want the bidder to pay shipping, please estimate how much shipping will be for each item so that it can be listed alongside the item in the auction (and be reasonable!). Also provide your PayPal address so that we can send you the shipping costs when they are collected. We would strongly urge you to consider covering shipping as part of your donation if you are at all able to do so. Remember, you will be shipping the items directly to the winning bidders.

A sample PM might look like this:

I am donating:
Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt NES cartridge (picture here: http://www.photobucket.com/yourpic)
Radiant Silvergun sealed for the SAT (NTSC-J) (picture here: http://www.photobucket.com/yourpic)
My custom-made life sized Superman 64 action figure (picture here: http://www.photobucket.com/yourpic)

Shipping:
I will cover domestic and international shipping for the first two items, but I will need to split the cost with the buyer to cover the cost of shipping the action figure (approx. $50 each in the U.S.).

My PayPal address is:
[email protected]
Remember, we only need a PayPal address if you will need some reimbursement for shipping costs.

So, take a look around and see what items you might be able to donate. Please submit your list of donations for the auction to me by Sunday, November 28th.
