Final Fantasy series

Are the Final Fantasy series for PSP (I & II) the same versions that were for PS1? I liked the FF games before and thought about picking some of them up since I about done with GOW. I think I remember reading that Crysis Core was a good game, but that is the only one I can recall being reviewed that I have come across?

Any FF fans out here with some knowledge on the series?

The PSP version has even better graphics, and the extra dungeon in each game.

Just to be clear, FF 1 and 2 both look better than the original 1 and 2, however Crisis Core looks amazing.
