Firefox users---Update your version to fix Security Flaw

CAGiversary!
Not sure if this was posted already but it seems Firefox has a security flaw. From CNN "The flaw allowed fraudsters to set up fake Web sites with names indistinguishable from legitimate companies." CNN link at
http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/03/03/mozilla.security.ap/index.html

Mozilla released a new Firefox version 1.0.1 which fixes this flaw. You can read their release news at http://www.mozilla.org/press/mozilla-2005-02-24.html

If you do not know which version you are currently using, then click on Help>about Mozilla Firefox on the top menu bar. If it is not 1.0.1 then you should update it as soon as possible.

After you get that update I recommend the download of the "foxy tunes" plug-in. Not having to switch between the browser and your music player of choice is awfully nice.

Thanks, I just downloaded this as well. Works great.

Really? I've never had a single pop-up with Firefox since I've started to use it. With IE, nearly no matter which pop-up blocker I used I still seemed to get pop-ups.

thanks for the warning OP...

but i think i got the download a few days ago...there was some kind of red icon on the upper right hand corner of the browser next to that little circle icon and alerted me to D/L the newer version...

hmmm...might have to try out the foxy tunes thing though :D

It still is. No Active X issues with Firefox. I still use IE for any purchases I make or bank transactions though.

I find the best thing to do is leave javascript turned off unless you need it for a site to function. That works much better than any pop-up blocker.
