The ad doesn't state any specifics as to what games/accessories could be on sale. It just says selection may vary by store, and the 60% is off the "last offered price"

The keele and lawrence location is not 60% off on $20 bargin bin games. When I asked the rep about which games did the sale apply to she said that whatever on the rack was already 60%...from it's regular price of $60. I brought up the point that whatever on the rack was already regularly priced at $20, the "last offered price" as spelled out in the ad. The manager repeated what the rep said to me earlier and that only 180 titles are going to be marked down, not 600+.

No big deal, I left, but are we playing with false advertising and semantics here?! I should also mention that the rep did multiple price checks on the register, so it seemed legit...

Also, the titles that I price checked were on the clearance rack before this sale took place, so it wasn't recently re-shelved.

At Harmony, the only titles were the ones on the horrible vertical rack. And...one of the titles I scanned from there was still $20.

I asked a rep if the titles from the "regular" $20 aisle were included and he said no. I scanned things I was interested in from said aisle and still $20...

A few RFDers are mentioning they took an in-store flyer and don't see the banner for 60% off anymore. Either way...they didn't have what I really wanted :(
 
So on the Best Buy add ACB for $30 it says cannot be combined with other offers. Does this mean you don't get the 800 Rewardzone points for either title?

They will package the games so you can't return one without the other. Retailers don't have a habit of giving away free items.
 
looks like if you buy NFS & ACB & AC2 u get them all for 109.98 (you pay 9.99 for AC2) looks like all those promos stack on bestbuys website.
 
Oh great, NFS PS3 is sold out. No more pre-ordering online. This happened with something else recently, I think it was Fallout NV and I had to pre-order in-store to get the bonus reward points.

My family went to the Supercenter Walmart near Eglinton/Warden, and I decided to go into the electronics section because I saw people on RFD saying that Star Ocean: The Last Hope International was $30. I didn't find it there, but to my surprise I did manage to find Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey for $10. Defective music CD and outrageously different review scores aside, for 10 bucks I couldn't pass it up.
 
I just came back from Staples (Bureau en Gros)

They had a lot of semi-old games that were on clearance and I got an extra 25% of after that just because I mentionned the sign next to the games. Of course this comes with a big YMMV.
I got a new copy of Alan Wake for $22.50+tx
SSF4, Bioshock 2, Halo ODST, and some others (they were 29.97 on the sticker)
AC2, Saboteur, ... were marked 22.97 (if I remember correctly) and they would have ended up at $17.23+tx if you can get 25% off.
Just proves that you need to ask (or just play stupid) for stuff if you want to get the best price possible.

Fun Fact: When you buy the Alan Wake game that is packaged only in french, the game can be played both in English or French.

Don't let the bad reviews get to you. Aside from
the retarded final boss on Chaotic path/all paths
, the game is very well made and does the SMT justice. But if you're into teenage drama, dating, etc ie Persona 3 or 4, then you obviously should have known better from just looking at the cover.
 
Hah, I loved Persona 3/4, but I know better than to expect that all games with SMT in the title will play like them. =P Bought/beat DDS 1 & 2 knowing the differences, so I bought SJ knowing I wouldn't get the Persona experience, plus I try to research a bit on any game I'm potentially interested in. :bouncy:
 
Just got back from work, looks like Superstore is going to have tax free this Friday and Saturday, not sure how widespread this is or if it is more of an East Coast thing or just smaller stores, no one knew.

The cards are still on sale until the 25th so it looks like the deal will get even better. Also, no 1400 cards left at the SuperStore on Portland St. looks like it might have been for the best though.

you were supposed to get The Officer character for purchasing from Best Buy. Didn't need to be a pre-order as it was to be packaged in their first run copies. It was on their website the last time I looked up AC:B but as you said its not on there anymore...weird

I actually caved (despite my initial intentions) and picked up AC:B and NFS:HP today for $99. I have yet to open them as I'm working nights tonight but if theres no code in my copy I'll be pissed as well. The reason I think there may be a code in my copy though is because it doesn't look like regular plastic wrap on the game case. Looks like it was opened then resealed (like how EB reseals their games). I remember there was some insert under the wrapper as well but I didn't pay much attention. I'll have to take a look when I get home from work and I'll let you know

yup so I checked and the code was in my copy. AS I said they must have opened it then stuck the loose sheet in the back (outside of the game case) then just re-shrinkwrapped the whole thing together

but definitely got The Officer character in my copy
 
Mine was normally wrapped. I actually received 2 copies (returning one) and the unopened one looks the same. I wrote to BB and they said to contact the manufacturer. So I wrote to Ubisoft and they said they MIGHT be able to get me the code if I provide photos of the UPC code, receipt, and disc. Sent them the pics tonight, hopefully will hear back tomorrow. They got back to me the same day, nice service.
 
I didn't get any rewardzone points on my account for pre-ordering the Need for Speed/AC Brotherhood $100 combo online so I manually entered it yesterday and they just added my 99 points plus 800 bonus points for each game. The deal said it excluded any other offers so I didn't expect to get the bonus points, awesome. That's another $20.

Oh yeah, and I finally got the replacement code for the officer yesterday.
