why are most games at $69 now?????? :bomb:
Now?

It's been like this since the end of 2008. Why, though? because this is canadian retailers way of saying: "We don't care how close our dollar is to the Americans, we're gonna restore balance by charging $10 more for everything!" pricks.

Has it actually been that long? Doesn't seem like it. Though maybe some stores where I've gotten new releases had $10 off or something. Either way, it's terrible.

Now we know why EA did a port of this for the PS3. It goes from a budget game on the Wii/PS2 to being a full priced PS3 game just because of Move? Yikes.

THAT explains why I thought the screenshot looked a little lame when I was searching for Move games!!

The crazy thing is the other Move titles are $40.

I've been seriously considering cancelling my BestBuy online order of Halo Reach LE, and just doing an instore preorder. I ordered it back when they had that error where it took off $15 instead of $5.

But since the price is now $79.99 instead of $89.99 I'm only really saving $5 now, and I think 800 RZ points plus a free hat more than makes up for that difference. Plus I'd get it release day, rather than who knows when (bad past experiences with ridiculously long shipping delays from BB online preorders).

I shouldn't have any issues doing an instore preorder this close to release, right?

Batman: The Brave and The Bold

And talking about Halo Reach. Today I was at BB at South Common location in Edmonton. They had a full scale Spartan II heavy gunner model at the front entrance the thing was massive.

There's supposedly one at the Cambie Best Buy in Vancouver as well, which I'll definitely be checking out. They're doing some contest where you send in a picture of you with the statue, you have a chance at winning it. Details are in this week's flyer.

Would be interesting to get an idea of what the list is of the "100's of games on sale" at FS. Might have to pick up Halo Wars @ 10$, just so i have all the Halo games in the library
Superstore is doing their no-tax weekend here on the 4th-5th. Not sure about if that applies across Canada.
They had one here in Ottawa last week so I don't think it will be across Canada.

hmm might have to pick up Red Faction: Guerrilla for $15 from FS then...I've heard that its horribly repetitive but its hard to resist at that price

Best Buy has Fable 2 Platinum Hits Edition for $19.99. Its finally available in Canada after 9 months when it was released in US at beginning of the year.
The Halo Wars at Future Shop is the standard edition, Best Buy has Halo Wars Platinum version for $34.99 with extra maps. The price should drop once all the standard edition are all sold out.

$5 at Toys R Us if you have one near you/if you can find it.

The destruction in the game is just great to play around with, you'll like the game more as a toy than as a video game. Just plowing through blockades, or exploding bridges, or using your sledgehammer to destroy a building by knocking out its supports. So satisfying.

The online multiplayer had a lot of potential too, but sadly there's almost no one playing it online anymore on the 360 side at least.

ya I caved and bought it. I did a PM at BB and the cashier took 10% off the game ($1.50) instead of 10% of the difference (would have been $0.50)

$13.49 no complaints :)

For anyone else that preordered Halo Reach LE at BestBuy, did it ring up correctly at $79.99 or did it ring up at $89.99? I just got back from preordering it, and it came up at $89.99. The girl said that if the price was indeed $79.99 they'd fix it when I pick it up. I was going to pay off the whole thing if I could, but I'm wasn't doing that at the wrong price.

They had me do a $10 deposit, so I should only have to pay the remaining $69.99 of the correct price when I pick it up right?

On the PS3 side there is a very active CAG night, either Thursday or Friday I believe.
